This thread is gonna be a hit ...each episode will bring some distorted comedy . We can call it the black humour thread . Drona bringing stones on Arjun's head was too amusing . Now mark my words each time Drona is gonna snatch the prerogative of evil deeds from Ashwathama and quickly do it to make Arjun shine . And he only calls Arjun 'mera shishya' ...so what others were there to have a vacation at gurukul and lazily watched the training of Arjun for timepass ?

Whats with all the baseless dialogues!!!
Agreed that Drona considered Arjun to be his favorite...but that did not mean that his other students meant nothing to him as a teacher he was proud of all their acheivements...and besides teachers all that time ago were not as verbal as they are today...they were more strict more disciplined and more to the point...in the SP mahabharat it looked like Drona was beside himself with joy ready to run across and hug his priya shishya...and Ashwathama being such a spoilt brat... talk about the SP spin ruining the original.

one more glaring and amusing error .

They did away with the character of Satyawati's fisherman foster father Dasharaj totally . He is ACTUALLY there in the story , important as HE put the conditions in front of Bheeshma . These conditions led to the famous Bheeshma Pratigya .

But they r consistently showing a character Priyamvada ...Kunti's maid who is totally contrived and not even there in the Mahabharat . From where this character has surfaced only CVs know , she actually gets screen space . Priyamvada was the friend of SHAKUNTALA and her confidante . They have nicely borrowed her from that story and are using her in the Mahabharat while real characters r done away with . Jai ho .😆😆😆

You know what?? I also think that they are distorting dhritarashtra's character to be too negative. As far as I know, it has been made clear in the epic that dhritarashtra was biased about his son but they have never mentioned him to be a negative character altogether. Here the cvs kind of portray the king as equivalent a negative character as shakuni.🥱
Also there's a lot of drama and nautanki shown I feel. Too much to digest. 😡😡

Dronacharya saying to Ashwaththama

u must be wondering how Arjun got out from the heap of stones . U see He created a barrier of arrows.

Now

WHY would Ashwathama NOT know that ? Didn't he study at the gurukul? Everything that was taught to Arjun was taught to Ashwathama FIRST . Infact Arjun had to struggle to get the same vidya given to Ashwathama coz Drona was very clear about one thing ...Ashwathama was his priority . He took the job to earn for Ashwathama so he could have a better life , he died for him . So what they r showing ...pita putra on opposite tangents is nonsense .

One thing about the disrespect factor - it's certainly believable about the Kauravas. If Dushashan could strip Draupadi, it'd definitely conceivable that he or one of his bros could have insulted Pandu as a kid. Similarly, what Duryodhan said about Kunti was not totally out of character.
However, one thing about the relative strengths of everyone here. It's well known that the Kauravas were very mediocre warriors, if you take out the legends - Bheeshma, Drona, Ashwatthama, Bhurishrava and so on. Duryodhan, for instance, lost every challenge he ever had in front of him. He failed to capture Drupada. In the battlefield, he was easily defeated not just by Yudisthir, but by Drishtadyumna as well. So it's inconceivable that Nakul or Sahadev would have lost to him. His brothers were even weaker. The CVs have no idea about the reasons behind the Pandavas.

If Bheeshma, Drona, Ashwatthama & Karna had been out of the picture/neutral and had it been a battle just b/w Kauravas & Pandavas, Bhima alone would have crushed them. The reason Arjun was needed was all those others - Bheeshma, Drona, et al. As noted in the rangbhoomi thread, the rangbhoomi was an exhibition - where each prince could showcase his talents. If it was gonna be a battle, Duryodhan would have lost to Nakul himself. Remember, when the Pandavas accosted Duryodhan in a lake, Yudisthir offered him the option of choosing any of them to fight. He'd not have done that had Duryodhan been superior to any of them. Same was the case here.

Also, the rules of this contest seemed really convoluted. If Bhima could forfeit on the technicality of making Duryodhan bleed - something that Bheeshma came up w/, then how did Duryodhan not forfeit for attacking Yudisthir from behind? In other words, if Duryodhan won against Yudisthir, Bhima would have won against Duryodhan, and vice versa. There is no consistency of standards here.

Finally, in the precap for tomorrow, Karna & Arjun are shown fighting, and Arjun's arrows get dissipated by Karna's armor, which is when it becomes visible to Kunti. But in the original, Karna was denied a fight: it was after Karna was crowned that Adirath congratulated him, and the caste question saw to it that a fight didn't happen. That was why Karna became a lifelong friend - he wanted a battle w/ Arjun, which he got to have @ Draupadi's swayamvara, Matsya, and finally Kurukshetra. But had Karna gotten the opportunity that they're gonna show him get tomorrow, he'd have been pretty satisfied.

Also, Kunti saw his armor & earrings first thing when he appeared, and recognized him. It didn't become visible just b'cos Arjun's arrows failed to penetrate it.

What a thread! 😆

Ashwatthama attempting to block Arjun's way was utter crap. Plenty of people were present over there. Wouldn't he have been noticed by anyone and then discarded?
And Drona told his son that Arjun made a protection layer using his arrows. When? Such a crap it was.

Dury was declared the winner as Bhim broke the rules, what about Yudhi then? 😆
Duel was fought just between Duryodhan and Bhim that was later interrupted by Ashwatthama due to the approaching violence as both the men hated each other.

Exactly. Arjuna and Karna did not fight because, Karna could not / would not divulge details of his caste, family etc. According to Kripacharya, the rangabhoomi was a place for the princes of the Kuru family to showcase their talents and a stranger could not wily nily take part in it - especially when the stranger was not from a royal family.

It was then that Duryodhana- seeing that Karna would be formidable antagonist to Arjuna - and seeing the value of friendship with such a person- decides to crown Karna the king of Anga- thus placing him on par with Arjuna.

But Kripacharya would have none of that. If someone wanted to challenge Arjuna, he had to born in a royal family- not be crowned in the nick of the moment.

Meanwhile Adhirath, getting news about his son's coronation, rushes to the venue where Bhima makes fun of Karna's parentage which infuriates Duryodhana further.

By this time, the sun had set and the proceedings for the day called off.

Secondly, Karna's armour may have protected him from death, but it did not make him invincible.
As Vrish noted, he lost to Arjuna at Draupadi's swyamvar, he lost to the gandharva Chitrasen and later on during the Matsya encounter.
