There is an interesting parallel in both Ramayan and Mahabharat regarding this.

Both Vikarna and Yuyutsu were against the course of action chosen by Duryodhan but Vikarna chose to remain and fight for the Kauravas while Yuyutsu decided to switch allegiance saying that he will side with Dharma

Similarly both Kumbhakarna and Vibheeshan knew that Ravan was wrong but Kumbhakarna chose to remain with Ravana while Vibheeshan switched over.

hmmm interesting I had no idea about it

Thanks shruti, India 2050

Draupadi's cheer haran was the worst thing that happened and probably the turning point of Mahabharata,
This act showed the men at the dice game at their lowest🥱 Starting from Yudhistir and his brothers who would remain mum as their brother carried on with his gambling, to Shakuni, Duryodhan, Karna and the rest who would instigate and encourage this madness, to Dhrid, Bheeshma, Drona and the other elders who would remain mum, this act happened because every one of them failed one way or the other to protect a women from being molested.

Yudhistir haas a wring sense of duty that day.. He had taken a vow to say 'yes' to every demand of he kauravas for 13 years, a time span in which the great sages had predicted that the annihilation of the kuru clan would have its seeds sown. So Yudhistir reasoned that any problem would arise only when there was a dispute. Agreeing yo ALL demands of the kauravas would avoid this.. He was being blind

The other brothers followed their protocol... No fights or disagreements among each other. All would remain mute as their wife was dragged into the court and abused. They had a false sense of priority,l their priority as Kshatriyas who would keep their vows and bend to being made slaves trumped their role as husband.
It was a no win situation for them.

The kauravas were at their basest.. The cruelty, the evilness, the need for revenge.. These guts took these words to a new level.. This act probably was a predecessor of what was to come in kaliyug. If just one of them among Karna, Duryodhan and dushasan had been a little more responsible😕

Then there are the elders. Mute spectators who were shocked into silence and whose protests were just pushed away by the next generations.. Could they have not been a little more responsible towards their duty as elders or atleast as yodhas who protected women?

But they were not,. A collective failure of responsibility led yo probably the worst kind of treatment to a woman. No wonder mb was about revenge..

I dont think pandavs are equally responsible for the vastra haran but in some proportion their acts led to the vastraharan...

In that way drapadi's laughter/deragotaory comments towards duryodhan (there is another theory that she never laughed or say derogatory comments towards duryodhan ) and also her insulting karna (again there is another theory that she rejected karna on shri krishna's orders) can also add up to the reasons of the vastraharan..
