@ Sabyatha, I understand where you are coming from.. And I do agree but partially.
I do agree that there is certain ambiguity at instances in mb, especially when it comes to emotions.. But there is also an answer to those ambiguity somewhere in mb. It is just that we have not looked far enough. This is what my dad used to say and I believe him. There were many instances were the questions I had on a certain scenario was answered later via books, upanyasams etc.,
But what I do not actually agree with is the distortion of facts. Like Kools pointed out, there are certain instances were a character is shown a particular way to suit the needs of entertainment channel pressures.
Things like making Drona and Kripacharya at loggerheads, making Ashvathama rude with his father, the Dhrid-Satyavathi convo and the shameful words from Dhrid about her kul.. Such things do make one a little thoughtful about the extent of creative liberty.
Another thing I disagree with is making tragic he toes out of villains and trying to justify their actions via something wrong done to them. I read Rajaji's mahabharth and in there he makes a very compelling argument about how the stories are distorted in the name of creativity giving a wrong impression to those who read about these characters. He had a very good point.
While creativity and unique presentation is certainly to be applauded, when it comes to Vedas and Puranas, one needs to be careful about the authenticity of what is being shown. So yes, I do sometimes feel that the serial crossed a line on a certain character or has distorted a scenario but the fact remains that this take of mb has been shot extremely well..
There are a lot of things like the interest it has aroused in many of my friends who have previously shown 0 interest to the story of mb that is heartening.. But that is also where my fear lies. I think the interpretations will be accepted directly without verification leading to a number of misconceptions😊
Sorry, that was long rant😳
