Shantanu Ganga story is a very important story of Mahabharata. Omitting it takes away the exact portrayal of a love deprived shantanu who loved Ganga very much and had to part ways just to prevent her from drowning one more of his offspring, it projects him here as a selfish who lusts after a woman half the age of his son. And moreover I agree the golden fish took away some time but I guess its because it was sayantani ghosh. If that's the case get ready for a over dose of princess amba also to be played by ratan Rajput.

Bhisma Pita is the most important character in the Mahabharat. his birth etc should have been shown. therefore the shantanu/ganga track more important and the sacrifice made by ganga

I bet tomorrow they will show us the birth of Satyavati/Shantanu sons.

I hope it goes on for more than 6 months if TRP's are high.Its an awesome show much better then all crappy dramatic drma going on

plus i found Devi Ganga so dull and not at all impressive
her costume was pathetic...

Ganga shantanu story was definitely missing but I'm guessing they are trying to quickly go through the background information so they get to the pandavas and kauravas to give more detail in that portion.

the opening of the show in my opinion was weak, especially because they completely omitted the story of ganga and shantanu, which i feel is very important because of the birth of bhisma/devrath.

too much importance and time was wasted on that dumb fish and also, satyavati wasnt the one who put forward the "i can only marry you if my sons become the king", it was her father.

and yes, agreed with that devil, weird looking creature battle, that was unnecessary too.
from this one episode, i have low expectations.
i LOVE the mahabharat, ive probably watched the video series dozens of times so to kids in this generation, this show is really nt helping with the whole teaching them about the mahabharat and the diff personalities involved
