Amba's track is important, since it revisits Bheeshma during the war. Actually, the Amba story is narrated in the Udyog Parva, but showing it then would make viewers impatient for the start of the war. Showing it now is good.

But they dropped Vyasa? These guys are in serious competition w/ me - even I dropped Vyasa in my Mahabharata on CNAT, and also Dhritarashtra's blindness. These guys should have come to me for a script - I'd have made it for them 😈

I had originally missed Thursday's & Friday's episodes when it first happened, but just saw it in the Saturday retelecast of the serial.

I just loved Amba insulting Satyavati when she came in, w/ her allusion to fishes. 😈🤣 As I said earlier, Satyavati was uncharacterestically patient w/ Amba, given how she's been depicted so far. It was really a laugh hearing her draw distinctions b/w justice & revenge. Although Amba had never refused to marry Vichitravirya - it was the other way around - I just loved them making her say that the reason she wanted to marry Bheeshma was torture him by the thought of him breaking his vow 😈 Of couse, Amba approached Parashurama herself - it was not Bheeshma who gave her that idea.

Parashurama's setup - he lives in a cave? 😆 With flying rocks constituting his entrance? 🤣 Actually, Parashurama wasn't allowed to live on earth - he only travelled there, and happened to be visiting Hastinapur during these events. Nor did he balk @ supporting Amba - he accepted that her demands were justified

They skipped the marriages of Vichitravirya? Okay. They showed him die b4 he ascended the throne? Actually, he ruled for 7 years - was already the king when these events were taking place. Only wonder that he didn't bother to create kids by then

I'm actually okay w/ them not showing Vyasa, since they're not really showing his Mahabharata either. Just go straight to Ambika's baby scenes. Dhritarashtra looked rather tall for a newborn. One thing I'm not getting - why are they focussing on Dhritarashtra's strength, when it was irrelevant in the story - the only time he used it was crushing that iron statue of Bhima.

The precap - Parashurama throws Bheeshma off a cliff? 😲😆 Again, like I noted, Mahadev's role @ this stage is not in stopping their fight - it's that Amba did tapasya to propriate Shiva, and he appeared b4 her and told her that she couldn't cause Bheeshma's death in this life. So Amba accepted that and went and took a garland that she was told would make its wearer the cause of Bheeshma's death. Other than that, they can bring Mohit in to show Mahadev bless Gandhari w/ 100 sons, which caused Bheeshma to want her for Dhritarashtra

Exit comment: I wish that when Draupadi has her confrontation w/ the Kuru elders, particularly Bheeshma, that she reminds him of how he treated Amba

as per the promos they are going to show dhritrashtra fighting elephants in arena. so they are laying the foundations for it now. to show it as he was wronged as he didnt get the throne cause he was blind but otherwise was good in all respects. creating sympathy in viewers maybe.

I am not a MB expert. And I have tremendous respect for your vast knowledge of the MB. But could you please tell me exactly how would Draupadi ever have known about Bhishma's history with Amba, to actually remind him about it in the first place? Did Krishna or Shikhandi or someone else tell her about it? Can't see Bhishma himself ever going around telling people about it...

Did the Pandavas and the Kauravas ever know that their grandmothers (Ambika and Ambalika) actually had a sister who was humiliated by Bheeshma, who had also sworn to be the cause of his death?

no. Krishna tells only on the night before they use shikhandi as a shield , the story of amba, her rebirths and purpose of hr life.

though drupad only knows his eldest daughter/son is meant to kill bhishma he doesnt know its amba reincarnated.
