I watched it as a small child so memories are faded now.It was a good show and the actors who portrayed the iconic roles did splendid job.Shakuni,Bheesham ,Doryodhan Karna were superbly done by them.
In this new show only Bheesham is impressive so far.

Me too. I have watched it many times. It was awesome. We cannot compare the old one with the present one.

yes ofcourse i keep watching the old Mahabharata...and whenever i want certain answers in my life i refer to Krishna's scenes in it...

Like wise dear yes our Purans and Stories have all the answers and to find those answers one must read them thouroughly that is why i say that this trend of making serials and cartoons on our cultural stories and sacred books tales should not stop now and the quality and genuineness should be maintained otherwise all the right reason would vanish and this is a great way of bringing back our misguided youth

When I see the interest youth of our country has in our sacred holy texts and history I feel so proud of them.

YUP!
The one and only best screen adaptations of Mahabharata till date! It was brilliantly acted in, directed and executed. Nothing ever came close to beating that one.

I watched the old version recently. Must say everyone doen great job in there. Draupati was phenomenal and everyone else wow !! I hope they do the justice again. They must focus on characters rather than showing stunts and all that. Because in mahabharat you have soo many interesting characters that will keep us entertained. storyline is great.

Agree with your points. And Gandhari in old MB was very beautiful and she acted well too.Even the actor who did Dhitrashtra in old one did very good job as compare to the one in new MB he is looking a bit over.

definitely agree that it increases our knowledge of Hindi, thats where I learned my hindi- watching Ramayan, Mahabharat and then Chanakya (thats where the really pure hindi is, if you want some really good hindi, watch Chanakya!)
