Karna backs down, since the person he's fighting for is dead, and none of the Kauravas seemed interested in picking up the Hastinapur throne.
Accordingly, Draupadi is crowned king of Hastinapur. She announces that Indraprastha will be returned to the Pandavas, and that they can go back there & rule.
Kunti tells her: I'm not going back to Hastinapur. I'm disgusted w/ them. Can I live w/ you?
P: As what? You're not my sasuma
K: Okay, as your praja? I'm even willing to be your dasi.
P: No, rajmata Kunti. You can live here as a praja, even in the palace. Just that I'll have nothing to do w/ you.
K: Fine.
A: Can we live here as well w/ mommy?
P: No, you have a pregnant wife in Indraprastha, who you are conveniently forgetting. You married her, and even produced a baby in her. So now go back to her, and wish you & your family full happiness. NOW LEAVE.
Arjun left w/ Yudisthir, crying.
B: Can I live w/ mommy? I really love her laddoos. After killing D & D, you can't hold it against me, can you?
P: No, you can't live here. You too have a wife - Hidimbi. I order you to go into vanvas and live w/ her there, and help raise your son, so that he doesn't become a rakshasha like Karna here!!!
Karna gets furious and yells.
K: Maharani DRAUPADI!!!
P: Monkeys don't become lions just by growing hair.
K: Women don't become kings just by getting a kingdom
P: I must remind you, Angaraj, that that kingdom Anga was a gift from Dhritarashtra. Now that he's dead, I must ask you to hand it back.
K: With pleasure, MAHARAJ Draupadi. Send your armies in to Anga - it's all yours.
Karna then puts on his clothes, jewelry & mukut as well, and prepares to leave. Vrushali arrives
V: Why are you wearing your mukut, Arya?
K: Priye, in case you've forgotten, I'm still king of Malini, which Jarasandha gave me b4 he died. That's not a gift from Hastinapur - I earned it w/ my bahubal. If Maharaj Draupadi wants it, she'll have to go to war w/ me, or beg for it - I'll gladly give it to her.
P: I don't beg from suta putras.
K: Fine, I'm leaving for Malini. Since Duryodhan is dead, you'll get no threat from me.
Karna leaves, taking a very reluctant Vrushali w/ him.
Just then, Shikhandini, Dhrishtadyumna & Drupada arrives and meets Draupadi.
S: Maharaj Draupadi ka abhinandan.
P: Welcome, Jiji. How are things @ Kampiliya?
S: Good. We were horrified to hear of your vh, and came here right away, but on the way, heard of your rajyabhishek. Missed it by hours.
P: You are nonetheless welcome.
Drupada & Dhrishtadyumna come in.
D: Putri, we'd like to be your first ally. So far, Hastinapur has been our enemy, but now that you are king, we'd like you as our ally.
P: Sure, Maharaj Drupad. Any gifts I can give you?
D: Yeah, we want Bheeshma & Drona dead. Bheeshma for hurting my dad Prishatha, and Drona for insulting me.
P: Okay, Maharaj Drupad. Gangaputra, please come here.
Bheeshma comes there.
P: Gangaputra, you know why my sister was born. Please help her fulfil her destiny. She will fight you in battle - and I want you to give up your life to her. It's my first order to you as your king, and your punishment for serving adharm all these years.
Bheeshma accepts and goes and has a battle. He avoids firing any weapons, while Shikhandini fires arrows @ him, & he gets laid on a bed of arrows, and gives up his life. Draupadi orders an honorable funeral for him.
Next is Drona. Draupadi tells him that he'll be executed by Dhristadyumna. Ashwatthama threatens her. Drona takes an yogic pose & passes away, and Dhrishtadyumna strikes him. Ashwatthama gets furious and fires a Narayanastra, and makes short work of Drupada, Dhrishtadyumna & even Shikhandini.
Krishna then curses Ashwatthama for killing Shikhandini, and orders him to give the jewel on his forehead to Draupadi to adorn her crown.
In the meantime, Karna returns to Malini, while the Dhartarashtras, accompanied by Gandhari, go to Gandhara, where Ulooka is crowned king.
Yudisthir returns to Indraprastha, and is crowned king. Krishna & Balarama return to Dwarka, while Bhima returns to Hidimbi & Arjun to Subhadra.
Draupadi now decides that she needs to do the Rajasuya yagna. How does she proceed?
