MUST READ.. Logical explanation of Pandavas' birth:
Can Gods really be fathers of mortals? No hope! So, who are the fathers of the Pandavas? Why were they called God-sons? In this article we will venture into those queries. But before that we must keep in mind some points about Vyasa.

1) He plays a dual role - a historic role which includes his role as a historic figure and also a myth-maker, and above all the role of a Kavi' - Kavayo Viduh!'

2) Not a single character mentioned in the epic is without a purpose, or without any link to the central characters.

3) The text' is a network of characters and events, each reflecting others and each existing being reflected by others, like Indra's Net'.

The Pandavas are never for once curious about their fathers! They never for once claim themselves as sons of God. Even Kunti, while turning down Pandu's request for more sons, counts her previous encounters as those with men'. The Pandavas knew who their actual fathers were! They also knew the purpose why the story of their mythical origin was circulated by certain Rishis! The Kauravas too were no buyer of God-father' story. Duryodhana was clearly cynical - (SECTION LXIof UDYOGA PARVA) - "if Agni, or Vayu, or Dharma, or Indra, or the Aswins had ever engaged themselves in works from worldly desire, then the sons of Pritha could never have fallen into distress."

How did the story come to be circulated in Hastinapura?

(Pls continue reading in the link above)

Quite an interesting read though it is very difficult to say what is the truth. Thanks for sharing. Is there also some explanation about Draupadi's birth from the yagya fire as a fully grown adult ?

Definitely there is an explanation of how Draupadi was born as a youth from the yagna and so was Dhrishtadyumna. Drupada was conducting the yagna with the priest. At one moment the priest ordered the king to call his wife. That woman took some time to come. The priest had no patience and precipitated the things without the presence of wife and so made things such that both those siblings were born as youths.
But why am I to believe this tale? In sanskrit, one word for a brahmin is 'dvija', which means twice-born. It is said that the brahmin is born twice. While his first janma is when he was actually born, the second janma is when he dons the sacred thread. And it is also said that the more important birth for him is when he dons the sacred thread because that is the day he gets the purpose.

Why don't we explain the birth of Drishtadyumna and Draupadi in the same way? They were actually born years before the yajna. But they were considered to be born again from this yajna because that is the day they got their purpose. The rishis who conducted the yajna hypnotized both the siblings in a such a way that those two believed they were born again with a sole purpose. Based on the hypnotism, the two siblings also believed in their sole purpose. Draupadi believing she is to be wed to Arjuna and her brother believing his sole purpose was to kill Drona. '

@Lovesunshine: The point here is very simple. If I ask Lord Krishna telling Him 'You are my friend, philosopher and guide. I will do whatever you say.' he will teach me how to live by God's principles. (Bhagawad Gita) If you ask Him, He will do the same for you. If Duryodhana asked, He will do the same for Duryodhana Same is the case of Yudhistira. Only Arjuna asked Him surrendering to Him fully. So He told the way of God to Arjuna.
As an interesting point, Yudistira did not take up the Lord's advice in a few cases. Yet the Lord was very much loving to Yudistira.

Thanks👏 Maha ...I thought that if you are pure hearted and without any paap only then god will give you the knowledge of the geeta and show you his viraat swaroop...

And so I thought that since yudhisthira according many the dharm on earth and the best pandavas who went swarg in one piece so I thought why kridhna never imparted geeta to him...

But now I understand because yudi never asked for it..thanks again maha

Thank you and I think being "born from fire"is symbolic. It means both are pure after this kind of rebirth.
