It is an epithet for the Head of a Confederate.

I didn't know that, eeh. 😳 Although as far as Pandu goes, I'm quite sure. Most of the times in fact, there's always a relation between the highlighting characteristic of the a character's personality and their name. Like Devvrat became Bhisma after the vow he made. Often their names come from who their father is or which kingdom they belong to. Gandhari was the princess of Gandhara. Kunti was Kuntibhoj's adopted daughter etc.

Did King Pandu have another name?I'm asking this coz Pandu means Pale. Why a person born in the warrior class be named after a disease?😕

He was not named after a disease 😆. 'Pandu' means whitish / pale / without color. His name describes his appearance, just as Krishna's name described his countenance.

Pandu, can be thought of as a synonym for 'shweta', though I admit it is not used as frequently.

You have correctly explained the meaning for Dhritarashtra.

They were all... and they all had sons... no wonder, the Kaurava army comprised of 11 Akshauhinis...
But the no of sons they would have had pales out compared to Krishna's children...
