Vishal Kotian plays Hanuman again!

Vishal Kotian, who had played Hanuman in Devon Ke Dev Mahadev is reprising the role of the monkey god, this time in Mahabharat. Says Vishal, "I got this role because my role as Hanuman had become popular in Mahadev. I was also voted the most good-looking Hanuman on TV. Still, when I was offered the role in Mahabharat, I was sceptical because a benchmark had been set and didn't want to do the same thing again.

However, the channel insisted." Unlike in Mahadev where he had a substantial role where he grew up as Hanuman and evolved as Shiva's avtaar, here he is already playing God and it's a small role. A non-vegetarian, Vishal strictly follows a veg diet when he plays Hanuman. "Nobody has told me, but I feel it's not right to eat non-veg while playing God," says the actor who has a good physique and claims to sport eight-pack abs. Vishal is also poised to play a big role in one of the upcoming shows, though he refuses to talk about it. Sources say that he will be playing Birbal to Kiku Sharda's Akbar in a serial titled Akbar Birbal.

The fiery and strong Pooja Sharma has impressed the world with her portrayal of Draupadi in Star Plus' Mahabharat(Swastik Productions). With the recent episodes focusing on her performance, the girl's acting talent has definitely come to the fore.

"Coming from Delhi, I am here because of my family. They have always supported me when it comes to acting and seeing me on screen (smiles). My brother is very critical about my work and on the other hand my mom and sister-in-law love my work. The journey in Mahabharat is very beautiful. I have actually fallen in love with Draupadi's character and my work."

Speaking further, she added, "The recent episodes were shot so beautifully where every actor in the team got a chance to perform. For me Draupadi is a strong and just woman with a strong personality. She is the lady who managed to keep herself dignified despite the trials and tribulations faced by her."

Coming from a modeling background, she has definitely taken the world with surprise with her performance. "I think it's a very silly belief that models can't act. And apart from modeling I have also done anchoring, hosting and daily ads. So I knew the trick of the trade. Hence, when this role came my way I took it up as a challenge and by God's grace it's going well. Everyone in my team is also very helpful and supportive so it never has been difficult."

Tell us something about Draupadi's fashion statement. Pooja answers, "Her costumes are beautiful and mainly dominated by the colour red. The colour is considered to represent passion and energy. Draupadi is a feisty character born out of fire and a very strong individual so it's being themed accordingly. The jewelries are also quite lavish and overall I am like decked up in around 25 kgs overall. It actually takes me two to three hours to complete the look and it hardly takes about an hour for the cheerharan post shoot (laughs)."

Did she feel any kind of competition, with all actors being compared to the earlier Mahbharat actors? "Honestly I'm not under any pressure, for I'm not competing. I am working on Draupadi the way my directors, writers and I feel the best, there is no inspiring. Also the screenplay of each character is differently done in this Mahabharat which makes the show completely different from the earlier one," signed off the actress.

In the last episode of Star Plus' Mahabharat, Duryodhan hosts his flag on Pandavas' fort. Krishna is sad but tells Kaurvas that Pandavas are on a right path and they are bound to succeed. Pandavas start their journey of exile unknown to the fears coming their way.

Nakul in the forest, goes to the river to fill water and suddenly loses his consciousness. When he doesn't arrive for a long time, Bheem and Sahdev go on a hunt for him. Unfortunately some evil spirit kills them as well. Arjuna realizes that something is wrong and goes on to find his three brothers. To his shock, he finds all of them lying unconscious on the ground, they are dead.

Arjuna removes his dhanush' and challenges the evil spirit that he would destroy the lake if he didn't get back his brothers. His life is also taken away by the spirit of lake.

Yudhishthir is worried hence he decides to go and look out for his brothers. He is dumbfounded to see all his brothers dead. He requests the spirit or the force to come in front of him. The spirit of the lake in the form of a huge man arrives and tells him that no human can take water without his permission. If he wants his brothers back he will have to answer three questions.

Impressed with Yudhishthirs answers, the force turns into God which is infarct the Dharma pita of Yudhishthir and gives back the life of all four brothers. In the next episode we will see the entry of lord Hanuman. Let's see how Pandavas will stay in the forest and face all the challenges coming their way!
