The charming actor Saurabh Raj Jain is currently playing Lord Krishna and Lord Vishnu simultaneously in Siddharth Kumar Tewary's 'Mahabharat' and Nukhil Sinha 'Devon Ke Dev Mahadev' respectively. Here's what he said during a short tte--tte:
How does it feel to be playing Lord Krishna after Vishnu, former being the latter's divine incarnation?
I feel blessed to get the opportunity to play Lord Vishnu and now his avatar Lord Krishna in two different shows at the same time.
What has worked in your favour?
My mother's blessings, love from my wife and well wishes of viewers and fans.
Don't you fear getting typecast since this is your third show in the mythological genre?
I don't fear especially because I have played Anand the good boy in 'Parichay' and Yuvraj, the bad boy, in 'Uttaran' (Colors). Moreover, I don't think there is such thing as typecasting in TV today.
Did you prepare to play Krishna in Mahabharat?
Yes, I have read many books related to Mahabharat to get the essence of Lord Krishna, one thing which attracted me the most is "Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum'.
http://www.pinkvilla.com/tvtags/mahabharat/unplugged-televisions-lord-vishnu-and-krishna-saurabh-raj-jain#1Actor Ankit Mohan feels that destiny has played a major role in shaping his career. Since the time he has shifted to Mumbai seeking to become an actor, he has auditioned maximum number of times at the Balaji Telefilms office. However, lady luck' had kept him away from being part of the Balaji clan till now.
But now, Ankit is excited as his dream of working in a Balaji Telefilms show has come true.
Yes, the young lad has bagged a very prominent role in Ekta Kapoor's upcoming show on Zee TV, Kumkum Bhagya. He will essay the negative-shaded younger brother of Shabbir Ahluwalia.
A reliable source says, "Ankit will play the role of Akash who will be full of attitude. He will be a carefree guy, and will not take the advice of anyone. While Shabbir's character will be very positive, Ankit's will be a typical negative character."
When contacted, Ankit Mohan who has been part of shows like Roadies Season 4, Namak Haram, Basera, Shobha Somnath Ki, Ghar Aaja Pardesi said, "I really wanted to see myself working with the Balaji family. I have heard that Balaji Telefilms is the only production house which turns a normal actor into a star overnight. I respect Ms. Ekta Kapoor who has built this empire with her sheer hard work and intelligence. I am now glad that I have got a chance to showcase my acting abilities in Kumkum Bhagya."
Ankit, who has also been part of Shahid Kapoor's movie Mausam, is presently seen donning the role of Ashwathama in Star Plus' Mahabharat.
The actor stated, "Except for my film Mausam, I have got to play grey and negative roles. Presently, you can see me in such a role as Ashwathama in Mahabharat. According to me, there is a lot more space to play and learn in negative roles rather than positive ones."
Ankit, we hope your stars shine bright!!
In continuation of our yesterday's piece where television actors appealed to our readers to make use of their right to vote, today we bring to you another feature in which actors explain how by casting a vote, an average citizen can make an impact in the world he lives in.
Voting gives one the right to voice out opinions and have a say in our day-to-day political activities. In fact, voting is the single most effective way to make one's voice heard. By not going out to vote, you totally give away your right to influence a government.
If the right to vote did not exist in the country, we would have been no longer called a democratic nation and would have gone completely totalitarian.
We at Tellychakkar.com bring the second part where your favourite television actors encourage everyone to exercise voting rights.
Shaheer Sheikh: I would like to appeal to people and particularly to the youth to go out and cast their votes as we are very large in numbers and have the power to make or break a government. Last time I had heard that the percentage of votes cast in Mumbai was very low. It is upon us to choose the right representative as eventually we have to bear the repercussions in the coming years. I would thus request people, more particularly the educated masses, to go out and vote.
Siddharth Kumar Tewary's Mahabharat' this week is going to move towards the most important scene in the history of the great epic, known as Draupadi's cheer-haran (disrobing).
After losing his most valuable asset - Draupadi - to the Kauravas - Yushistir will find himself helpless before the vile sons of King Dhritrashtra.
To take due advantage of the dire state of the Pandavas, Duryodhan, Karna and Shakuni will order Dushasana to drag Panchali in the Kuru court. And then, they will all begin the epic act of disrobing the chaste and virtuous Yajnaseni before her royal in-laws and heartbroken husbands.
We put together some of the pictures of Draupadi's cheer haran that is due to be aired on the show. We strongly feel that Pooja Sharma as the battered wife of the Pandavas looks very convincing and real in the shots. What say, readers?
Who said that the deadly trio comprising blood brothers Duryodhana (Arpit Ranka) and Dushasana (Nirbhay Wadhwa) and their uncle Shakuni (Praneet Bhat) get along on small screen only?
Well, the Mahabharat' men love staying close even off duty as well which is one reason behind their awesome chemistry on-screen.
We came across a few pictures of the characters in question on the social network and felt like sharing them with you all Mahabhaarat fans!
http://www.pinkvilla.com/tvtags/mahabharat/mahabharat-shakuni-duryodhana-and-dushasana-s-get-affectionate-screen-view-pics#1They say bad boys don't cry instead they make you cry, but Pooja Sharma aka Draupadi of STAR Plus' Mahabharat broke this notion when she made Big Bad Boys' of the show cry while shooting for one of for one of the sequences.
This happened recently when the cast was shooting for the infamous Game of Dice'. The sequence included a highly emotional monologue by Draupadi (Pooja Sharma), where she was to confront each and every male present in the royal court after Duryodhan orders his brother Dushasan to disrobe her. A source from the sets tells us that the intensity with which Pooja delivered her dialogues, shook everyone present there. Everyone from the cast and crew including Duryodhan was teary eyed post Draupadi's performance.
Arpit Ranka, who plays Duryodhan says, "Pooja is a brilliant actor. Her performance during the shoot was like an emotional outburst. By the end of it all of us had tears in our eyes. And since Duryadhan and Shakuni along with some other characters, were to appear unmoved by her monologues, we had to stall the shoot so that all of us could get back to normalcy and complete rest of the scene."
Tune into catch this high octane drama on Mahabharat' every Monday to Saturday 8:30 pm only on STAR PLUS!!!

The saying It is a man's own mind, not his enemy or foe that lures him to evil ways' stands true for Nirbhay Wadhwa aka Dushasan of Star Plus' Mahabharat (Swastik Pictures). The actor who recently shot for Game of Dice' sequence in the show, should be anxious about the response he will get from the audience after Draupadi'scheer-haran is shown on television. But contrary to our belief, the evil minded Dushasan is rather calm and sorted off the screen.
Nirbhay, whose on screen character Dushasan's one shameful act led to the bloodiest war in the history of mankind says, "Lot of people ask me if I am worried about my image in the minds of viewers after the telecast ofcheer-haran sequence in Mahabharat. But I'm not apprehensive about my image post the telecast of cheer-haransequence because I know I'm a good person and playing a negative character won't make me negative."
Way to go!!! The episode will be aired tonight.
