Part 5

She closes in to kiss him with their eyes only for each other.
He shook his head 'NO' and leaves her.
Leaving her from his hold, she was shocked of getting to recall what she was up to, what she was going to do, what she would have done if he didn't react.
She palmed her mouth as tears started to form in her eyes.
She turned away from him and ran into her house.

He was standing there like a statue not knowing what to do.

"So buddy! Come let's have dinner!" Sultan broke his statute pose.
"I...I don't feel like having something."
"Oh! Come on dude!"
"Please!"
"HHmm" Sultan nodded understandingly "By the way where is Choti?"
After few seconds of reflection, he pointed towards the house entrance.

"Since the time we have moved she is always closing herself inside her room." taking his phone out of his pocket and composing her number "House to school and School to house, that's what she does."
"Choti!" he spoke to his sister.
"Come out and have dinner with us!"
"What answer is that?"
"You come here or we come there with whatever food I like?"
He smiled "Ok! Come!"

All this while Rishab was a silent spectator.

"She is vegi while I'm not! I knew she will fall for my threat."
Rishab smiled at his friend but it disappeared when he saw a sad Madhu nearing them with bent head.

She was in her land.
Her land of reflection.
Where she is the queen and all goes by her wishes.
Is she trying to come up with a conclusion?
Did she got what is happening to her?

"Hey Choti! What happened?" putting his hand around his sister's shoulder.
"Nothing!"
"Why your mood is off?"
She shook her head.
"Oh Oh Please Smile!" he asked his sister making faces.
"Please!" Rishab added.
She smiled a fake smile and stuck to her brother the rest of the evening.

They had dinner calmly.
When her parents asked her to cut the cake, she was watching Rishab.
And the same applied during the whole time when she fed her parents and her brother.
Then one by one everyone came and presented their gifts.
When Rishab came on the stage, there were a small commotion due to 2 children fighting for a chocolate bar, so Madhu mother went there and her father left the stage as he got an emergency call.

"Happy Birthday!" he said her handing her a small wrapped box.
"Thank you!" she shook her hand with his.
"Buddy! I told you not to" Sultan was interrupted by Rishab.
"I wanted it." still his hand in hers and she is caressing the back of his hand with her thumb, sending shivers to his spine as his hand hair are standing still.
He tried to free his hand but didn't want to pull away forcefully.
"Ok!" Sultan.
"I think I need to go!"
"Ok buddy! See you tomorrow! Thanks for coming!" her brother started to bring his hand from his pocket.
Seeing this, she left his hand with a smile playing on her lips and moved a little so they can shake hands.

Once they did their last bit of shaking hands, Rishab said:
"Tell your parents that I'm glad I met them." turning towards Madhu "Happy Birthday once again. See you tomorrow."
"Thank you and see you Rishab." she said with a confidence that she didn't knew she had.
He didn't expect her to call him like this.
He nodded one last time before leaving from there.

The party finished with a good note and she got back to her room just taking his gift.
She opened it slowly with pumping hearts to find a red velvet long box.
She started to think of what it could instead of opening it.
Finally coming to the conclusion, she opened it to find a beautiful set of anklets.

"How come he knew I love anklets?
May be bro said to him.
I should thank him.
What to do?" murmuring these lines, she got up and went to her brother's room to find it empty, she moved to his bed side table to find his phone but not him.
She heard the shower running sound and decided to not make any sound and just steal Rishab's number.
She went through his contact list but couldn't find anything.
So she went to message box and there she saw a message at 7:28 "In front of your house!" from NoRulesBuddy.
She remembered that he was the only guest from her brother's side and he said something similar when they were talking.
She smiled and shook her head and took his number before getting into her room.

Once settled on her bed, she typed a short message.
"Lovely anklets.
Thanks a lot Rishab! Hug"
Sending it, she waited for a reply for more than few minutes and finally slept in an non regular pose.

In his one room apartment, sleep was far away from the man who was dancing with his student few hours ago and who got a thank you message with a hug.
How can he sleep peacefully when what is happening to him and around is not what he expected.
He never expected to have a family for himself.
All he always thought is studies and studies.
And whenever possible help the orphanage from where he came and do a lot more social services but not a life for him, not a family for him.
Not the feelings he is feeling now.
It's not right.
With all the thoughts running, he passed the night gazing at his ceiling.

Next day arrived with the new sunshine for the girl who turned a day older with confidence and determination.
She checked her phone, there was no messages.
She was disappointed but it was what she expected, so she didn't find it bad.
She sent "Good Morning Sun!" and put back her phone down.

She is now called adult.
Will it change something in her behaviour?
Yes, the confidence she has over something.
Nope as she is still doing her routine.

D clan was shocked to see Madhu in full form at the earlier hours of the day.
They even went towards Madhu to threaten her but she glanced an angry look saying:
"Don't dare to mess with me again. I can complain to your gang leader's father as he is fond of me as a daughter." in a thinking position "If I remember that's what he said yesterday in my BD party!" she left from there leaving all of their mouth hung open for hours.

All classes went well until the last lesson which is maths.
From the moment he entered, the tension between them was visible only to them as he never turned to her side but she was having all her attention only for him.
He gave them an exercise to do and started to go around all tables to check one by one and answer them if they had any doubts.
And when it was her round, he bent a little lower and cleared his throat. Was it to gain courage or get her attention?

She faced him but didn't say anything.
"Meet me after the class." he said.
She nodded.
"Do you have any doubt?"
"Not now!" she said calmly.

He got the meaning of her reply, so he went back to continue his helping session.
Was this helping session a disguise to speak to her?

They finished correcting the exercise and continued the lesson until the bell rang.
One by one everyone left from the room.
Madhu was taking all her time to put her things back in her bag.
Once she confirmed no movement in the corridor as their class room was the one facing it.
She got up and went near him.
All this while, he was checking his last minutes exercise result when he heard someone clear their throat.

"Thanks for staying Miss" he stopped seeing her shook her head.
"Madhu ! Only Madhu!"
