Dear Nautanki films
This is a letter from we Madhubala -EK Ishq Ek Junoon fans to thank you for giving us a beautiful show which remain iconic till date n left us craving for more. MEIEJ is one of the shows most missed on Indian television due to multitude of reasons such as the strong characters, electrifying chemistry between the leads Drashti Dhami and Vivian Dsena, the never seen before movie background of the show and the intense -passionate love story of RK and Madhu. We appreciate the way how you have beautifully carved out strong characters of RK, Madhu, bittuji, radhaji, Padmini, Balraj, Deepali, Shamsher and others that they still live in our hearts and we can't even think of forgetting them. The best role you played during the show's journey was that you maintained the strength of the characters and never let any third angle blemish RishBala marital relationship.
In this era the content on television is going down the drain with same Saas Bahu sagas and supernatural stuffs. Polygamy and forced marriage despite being a crime as per Indian Law is promoted in the shows in the name of drama and increasing longevity of the show. Male and Female leads are often weak and confused about what they want from life and often do sacrificial marriage at the tip of finger even though they claim to love someone else to death. These endless dragging of dramas often makes we the viewers cringe. Production houses often assume that viewers love such melodrama on account of the TRPs gained by them. Though it is true that the middle aged group audience like such things but we young viewers hate the tracks of unemployed males, dumb females leads, females doing emotional blackmail threatening suicide, male leads reduced to a mere puppet, wicked mother in laws and illiterate female becoming business magnate in few years. Then we have shows where main characters get transformed into some any random species from animal kingdom like flies, snakes , mongoose , buffalo with some nonsense chants and curses. All these things don't make sense to us and irritate us.
We viewers after a tiring day, switches on the TV for relaxation and entertainment not for some social message which our daily soaps fail badly in delivering. We know much more than what is shown and we laugh at their social message concept.
But Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon was different. It was not a regular love and hate story but it was extreme love and extreme hate story. MEIEJ was a congregation of different human emotions. There was love, passion, jealousy ,hurt, hate, revenge, betrayal, regret, denial, redemption, togetherness, possessiveness misunderstanding, trust and everything else. The way you showed these emotions in different tracks was phenomenal. We as a viewer loved how RK and Madhu were not 100% positive and were grey characters having their own share of flaws and mistakes. It gave us a feeling of realism. Though the show underwent many ups and downs, it never drifted from the basic storyline and nature of the character was maintained throughout. RK's big ego with badass attitude on one hand and passionate love for Madhu on other hand, Madhu's never ending love for RK, Deepali's constant trials to win RK back was the highlight of the show. The chemistry between the trio and movie concept of the show was something to watch out. Even leads got married many a times, but only to each other both before and after the leap. Even love triangle was introduced but thank fully Madhu's and RK's character was not assassinated. Both the lead characters always loved each other only and can never get enough of each other which always made us go awww for them. The USP of show was both the leads got equal importance and screen space throughout the show. Watching this show became our daily habit and with every passing episode we fell in love more with this show. We really had tears in our eyes when it went off air.Because we knew that getting it back might turn out to an impossible dream. This show is really very close to heart of all MBians and Rishbala fans. We still miss this show and are waiting for MEIEJ season 2 with Drashti and Vivian only.
At last we whole heartedly thank the makers Mr. Saurabh Tiwari, Mr.Abhinav Shukla, Mr.Ravindra Gautam and the whole creative cast and crew for this wonderful show. Another bunch of thanks to you guys for keeping intact the purity of Rishbala relationship in the show and not adding unnecessary drama for TRPs namesake. Also thanking Mr. Raghuvir Shikawat for the fabulous dialogues and powerful one liners which are still on MBians lips. At last we are earnestly requesting you to cast Vivian and Drashti who are our favourite onscreen couples as the leads in any of your upcoming shows in future.
With love and respect
