Please, could you maybe try to be a little restrained while criticizing, whether about DVD together or either individually? Otherwise you might be likely to be perceived as bashing. There are sarcastic posts and genuine posts, and it's sometimes hard to know which post is venting how.
And VD's decision to return to MEIEJ was excellent for the show's nostalgia-build and the DVD pairing fans, since it ensured that the attempts by the CVs to have multiple male leads failed everytime. No-one remembers flop-tracks beyond a few years at maximum, but the general public remembers which channel gave them months of tracks that not enough millions of people were amenable to watching. The DVD pairing was adequately mass-popular to be restored even after a leap. Unfortunately the tracks were catered against mass-sensibilities in track after track before and after the leap, ensuring predictable track-closures from inadequate massive viewership.
VD agreeing to return ensured that the lead-pairing was restored as the only one. Why a lead-pairing which managed to get 3+ and 4+ TRP was so insistently attempted to be split almost constantly for more than a year was utterly bizarre, and disinclined to the serial's longterm success building on what had provenly worked. That the series managed to never hit the lowest point even despite more than 3 months at the end with zero TV-promos and disastrously mass-appalling tracks is the best testament to the lead-pairing's mass-appeal with offline mass-viewership.
Best for us to be patient for our favourites to take worthwhile roles, rather than expect them to hurry for our convenience. Hopefully we may enjoy DVD's next separate serials, stories and/or pairings and forget the absence-time preceding for each. :)
