The spy next door - Chapter 5
Banner credit - Steph I was awaken with the back to back vibration of my mobile under my pillow. What the hell this alarm! But I slightly remember I offed it early morning so it can't be snoozing. I was too lazy to open my eyes. I wanted to sleep more. After all, yesterday was so much tiring & I felt like staying on bed the whole day today.
The phone buzzed once again. F*ck! I just wanted to threw it away! I tried to open my eyes. It was difficult. I felt something really heavy on my eyelids. May be I was exhausted or many be oversleeping. I rubbed my eyes & got the mobile close to me.
'Come on Lisa' 'Let's celebrate your birthday today!' 'I'll take you where ever you want to go & will buy what ever you want!' I pacified little Lisa who was upset. I knew that little soul wanted to celebrate her birthday. 'OMG really?' 'Yay!' Lisa hugged me.
'What?' 'Are you mad RK?' 'You just came to Rome yesterday! Do you have any idea about the places? & before all do you have money to spend? You are still unemployed right?' Madhu was speaking like a machine. I have just started my mission & this lady is gonna ruin all my plans!
I had plenty of money! My boss had already deposited some for my bank account. I just needed to change the Indian currency for Euros. 'Well, I have some money with me! Don't worry Madhu. Just let me make Lisa happy!' I replied.
'But RK! This is not fair!' 'Lisa let's go home. We have troubled your uncle RK enough.' Madhu pulled Lisa's hand. Lisa was hesitating to go with her mother. 'Lisa come on!' Madhu raised her voice. 'No! she won't go anywhere with you!' I replied.
'Madhu please understand! If you don't want to come, fine it's okay!' 'But I'm taking Lisa with me!' Madhu was staring at me. She seemed to be shocked with my answer. 'Sorry! I don't have a right on Lisa. I'm not her father but I just want to make her happy. That's all. Because she is already my best friend here! Right Lisa?
'Yeah! Momma! please let me go with uncle RK!' The little girl was pleading her mother. 'Hmm okay then.' Madhu finally agreed. I held Lisa's hand & we walked away from Madhu.
'Hey!' Madhu called out. 'Walking away as if you know all the directions huh?' She was smiling sarcastically. 'Wait for me! Let's go in my car.' Madhu came running towards us. ' Tell me the directions! I'll drive.' I wanted to try out driving in Italy. I sounded like a superhero.
'Oh well! You can't drive here without a valid license! & Mr, we drive from left side. Not like in India.' Madhu chuckled. I don't want you to mess it up & any unnecessary accidents to happen.'
We drove off to a huge shopping mall. It looked so crowded. Christmas is around the corner & the all of the streets looked packed. It took more than an hour to reach the mall which was just 5 kms away from Lisa's kindergarten.
'Whoa!' This is so huge! I was amazed to see such a huge shopping mall which, I think is covered for acres.' Yo! migliori amici! (Best friends) You may get down now.' Madhu pointed at us. Lisa & I shared a wink.
'Come on!' 'Let's go!' Little Lisa was pulling my hand with excitement. 'Beware RK! Lisa is not easy to control when she is in a shopping mall.' Madhu giggled while warning me.
Lisa wanted to buy a barbie & teddy bears. I kept roaming on toy shops with her while Madhu was chiding. I was chasing behind Lisa because I knew she can disappear in a blink if she has find her favorite toy shop.
OMG how hard it is to handle a kid? I will never marry & never have kids! I spoke to myself. Lisa is an extraordinary kid. She can run fast! She was hyperactive. I thought she was one little calmed down kid comparing to her elder siblings. But she seemed to be more active than them. Anyways she had a pure heart unlike her siblings.
Finally I had to buy two barbie dolls, three teddy bears, a box of candies & a few colorful key tags for her while Madhu was blaming little for making me pay all. Madhu herself bought a beautiful dress for the birthday girl. Madhu looked so embarrassed with Lisa's behavior.
The poor soul didn't understand anything. She just wanted what makes her happy. I later realized that I have done some kind of a stupid thing as I didn't expect Lisa would buy such a lot of things. I got a mini heart attack when all the values were converted in to Indian rupees. So that, a small key tag cost more than two hundred rupees. Madhu was right. The cost of living is high here.
'How was the shopping ride?' Madhu gave a sarcastic smile. 'Haha that was awesome!' I chuckled. 'RK! I'm really sorry! I'm feeling guilty. How did you pay like a damn rich person? You are still unemployed. It's not good to spend such money at once. Lisa is stubborn! I'm guilty that I couldn't stop her. She didn't even care to hear what I was saying.'
'Madhu today is her birthday! So please don't ruin her mood. I'm all cool about spending for Lisa. I may be not so rich but I wanted to make her happy. That's all. I replied.
Then Lisa wanted to go to the children's park. Madhu was hesitant to go. 'Lisa you behaved so badly today! You have already made your RK uncle to spend so much of money. That's enough for the day! Let's go home.' Madhu rebuked her.
I noticed that Lisa's cheerful face has turned dull. 'Lisa! don't worry! I'll take you to the park.' I held her hand. 'RK! this is more than enough. It is not worth! you have to pay a large amount even for the entrance ticket itself.' Madhu chided again.
Madhu you don't have to worry about the payments. Finally we headed to the park. The mission was going on smoothly. I wanted to catch up Madhu alone while Lisa is playing. This is gonna be a good chance. I have to find more about Madhu & her past by hook or crook.

I'm stuck with work Posting this before I go to the university in the morning. I woke up early for this 😆 Because a lot of work coming on my way & I won't be able to post the other part any soon. I can't make my loyal readers stay for a long. 😆 Next update is gonna be interesting I guess 😉 I'm trying to make it possible 😃 and more lengthy of course! 😳😆
