Kisi Shayer Ki Ghazal...Drashti Dhami!

She is the quintessential girl-next-door, only she is as classically beautiful as Meena Kumari & Madhubala; as sensuous as Madhuri Dixit; an actress of great potential; is loved by millions and has a smile that make hearts go dhak-dhak!

But still, Drashti Dhami is a girl next-door since she is as down-to-earth, as chirpy and as bubbly as one. She has no starry arrogance and laughs easily. She is approachable and very, very lovable.

And she is beautiful!

Did we say that already?

Al-righty then, no harm in saying it again, is there?

Ms. Drashti Dhami is as beautiful as a poet's lucid creation.

When this nymph-like beauty, with a million-watt smile burst onto our screens in 2007 as Dr. Muskaan Chaddha in the immensely popular TV serial Dill Mill Gayye, we knew immediately, she was here to stay and make history.

And she did make history. Her on-screen persona made her hugely popular as she took upon one challenging role after another and proved her mettle as a master emoter. Few television actresses are as versatile as Drashti. She can make you go through a variety of emotions at the bat of an eyelid and she does it so easily, that seasoned viewers are astonished at this young girl's skills.

As Madhubala (a name so suited to her beauty), Dhami played the role of a strong woman, an uninterested parter to a loving wife and devoted daughter-in-law with none of the run-of-the-mill acting, but in her own unique style. Even when she was deglamorized, Drashti lost none of her charm and continued to surprise her viewers with her acting skills.

She won a variety of awards and when she became a contestant on Colors TV's Dixit Jhalak Dikhla Jaa Season 6 last year, she added another feather to her already crowded cap. Who can forget her Madhuri Avatar in JDJ that took away the nation's collective breaths? She replicated the diva so well that Drashti was as much as Madhuri in Humko Aajkal' as Madhuri herself!!

She performed the most difficult dance-steps with perfect ease and grace. She was pitted against some truly brilliant performers like Lauren Gottelib, but finally it was Drashti who took away the winner's trophy in style.

When Drashti was chosen as a host of the same show this year, it surprised no one, but to every one of her fans' dismay, Drashti was replaced soon. Drashti is not what typical hosts are made up of. She is an actor; she emotes well and can play any role, but not all actors are hosts and show-makers of a channel should understand that.

There is a reason why despite being an Oscar-winner and a top actress Meryl Streep never hosted the Oscars! Not hosting Oscars doesn't make Streep any less of an actor, but it simply tells that she has different skill-sets!

Similarly, quitting Jhalak as a host doesn't make Drashti any less talented. Let them haters go to hell since Drashti Dhami continues to be one of the best & most wanted actors on TV and soon on silver-screen.
