Drashti Dhami New Interview: *Talks About JDJ/ MB/ Friends & More*

Diva Drashti Dhami never leaves her fans disappointed. Her character of Madhubala or her recent stint as a host in the biggest reality dance show- Colors' Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, she manages to win everyone's heart! Drashti bowled the audiences with her glamorous avatar as a host of JDLJ 7 with dashing Ranvir Shorey.

Her effervescent smile and hard work has made her queen of Indian Television. Pinkvilla got a chance to talk to her about her hosting skills, Bollywood plans and rumors of her link up with Siddharth Shukla. Here is what she says -

Your fans are very excited to see you as an anchor of Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 7, how excited are you?

I am very nervous - more than excited. It has only been one episode and the experience has been incredible. I will make the best of the opportunity and hope my fans will continue to support me in my endeavors.

Any preparations to hone up the skills of a host as there are high expectations from you?

I believe that spontaneity is the key for the role of a host and I plan to abide by that.

How are you gelling along with Ranvir Shorey, tell us something about your chemistry with him?

Ranvir is a lot of fun. He has a great sense of humor and we are working towards building our on-screen chemistry. However, since we are still getting used to working together, I think our chemistry will become more crackling over a period of time.

Drashti you are a Diva, we loved what you wore in Jhalak PC, who is your designer and what kind of attire you would be wearing as a host of this show?

I often style my own outfits. I love experimenting with my look and am looking forward to exploring different types of attires and styling during the course of the season.

Are you enjoying the change from a daily soap to a reality show host? What would you choose if given a choice, a reality show host or a daily soap actress?

While I am very comfortable playing Madhubala, I also love to try new things. Both - acting and hosting - form an integral part of entertainment and it is this common factor that I cherish and enjoy the most. It is almost impossible to choose a favorite.

Media reported that you and Siddharth Shukla are dating, is it true?

This is not true. Siddharth and I have been great friends ever since we participated in the previous season of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. That is all there is to it.

Who are you going to support in JDLJ7?

May the best win !

How different is this season going to be from the previous ones?

This season, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa has gone international and has raised the bar. While the judges are going to be stricter, we are also experimenting with outdoor concepts and have received great reviews on this addition. The styles are going to be more in variety and not to mention, my personal favorite, Madhuri Dixit has also gone western. Personally, the experience for me is going to be a whole lot different since I have shifted my role on the show.

Your best friend Sanaya came to the sets to cheer for you, how will you describe your bonding with her?

Sanaya and I are the best of friends. We share a strong bond which goes beyond any conventional description of friendship. I am really happy that she visited the sets of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa to cheer me. I would do the same for her if our roles were to be reversed.

Who do you think will be a tough contestant this season as there are few very good dancers in it?

How are you managing Madhubala and Jhalak?

COLORS and the production teams of Madhubala and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa have been extremely cooperative enabling me to juggle both show successfully. It is tiring, no doubt, but I enjoy both roles - actor and host.

Did you get nostalgic on your first day at Jhalak this season? Tell us something about your first day as a host.

Of course! A total nostalgic moment since everything is just the same. But was certainly nervous since I was hosting it for the first time.

What keeps you going Drashti?

To give my best and to get better since I want to be good at what I do, so that keeps me going. Family, friends and loved ones are my strength.

Any Bollywood plans or you are content with TV?

Not that I've got a call but if anything comes along my way will definitely do it.

You recently shot with Kapil Sharma for Comedy Nights with Kapil, how was your experience?

It was really nice. It was something different and I'd like to go again.

My fans have always been an integral part of my life. I want them to know I will always continue to entertain them. I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart and hope that they like me in my new avatar as a host. 😃
