A vulnerable Raja is easily instigated by Bhanu. That guy not just alcohol, he seemed to have mixed somehting in the drink too. so evn thougth Raja was feeling for his madhu, gets encouraged by Bhanu to go and show the place of wife!

i really thought Bhanu is going to go inside and help Raja do the deed! Disgusting creep!

but why did he switch off the power! so is ther egoing to be a confusion of whether rape happned or not? Will Madhu lie? if u go to police, shdnt one do medical testing?

And the most painful scene of todays episode! though we had promos for a week, i dint expect it to happen (wht i expected i dont know)!

Married or not, forcing anyone is a complete NO! Though cvs show that Raja was not in his senses, still he did this disgusting act! did he even realize wht he did? i dont think so! he ws the kind of who dint evn touch her when she dint wnt to touch. so does he realize wht he did!

i found it very painful! Madhu might have been angry and sounded unsympathetic, bt she dint deserve this! A beautiful act has been spoiled forever for madhu! whatever happens in future, this one nightmare is going to haunt madhu's life n also Raja's life!

i dont know how VD agreed to do this scene! i dont think any hero wd have dared to do it!

Both DVD were phenomenal in this scene. DD expressed her anger, helplessness and revulsion so very well. and that scene where she begs him with folded hands ws so heartrending!

And VD! his anger and all the perceived insults gets him wiilder and wilder. today he did turn jungli in his anger!

how are they going to redeem his chr! i dont know!

i dont wnt to go into the disucssion of was it really needed! chr is butchered and other such argument.

i wnt to see how are they going to show d story further!

this act has made the story a very dark love story and chrs grey indeed! it really takes guts for cvs n actor to do this.

most of the viewers for tv shows are women n most women wd hate this. so wht made our cvs to take this extreme step?

there have been a movie in olden days in tamil in similar vein which ws soo successful that a remake ws made later. bt that story starts with rape n how hero tries to redeem n get his love accept him! don t know why i thoguth of that movie only today!

i'm so shocked today...and I haven't even watched the epi and nor will I ever have the heart to.

If indeed Raja has committed the heinous act of raping his wife,under the influence of drugs or not,it will forever mar the sympathy that the viewers had for him while Madhu continuously spewed venom against his love. For heaven's sake even I had lost my patience with JM's mood swings...and all for what??

I know Priya that you don't want to discuss the mutilation of a lead character for the sake of plot progression but that's what most of us fans will ask today.Had this move by the CVs ensured success for this show,we would've understood but this was a completely unnecessary gamble IMO.

And Raja displays no remorse the next morning...then how will he ever develop the same for it later??how will he ever understand the gravity of the crime he committed??

BTW is marital rape a criminally punishable offence in India? it wasn't earlier as far as I'm aware.

I just don't know what to say about today's episode...🤔

Bahnni, marital rape is not a legal offence in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
Don't know if exception is made for girls under what age in the other countries, but in India, girls under 15 years of age are exception and protected from the ambit.

By law, India does *not* yet recognize marital rape as a crime unless the wife is younger than 15 years old.
Every attempt to get marital rape considered in the category of rape keeps running into a clear demarcation line which makes non-marital rape a crime, but if the rape has been done by husband against his wife, then it's not considered rape.

So Raja saying that it's not rape if a husband consummates with the wife (regardless of her consent) is legally correct.

The basic law is totally in favour of the husband's right.
The husband has the right to consummate with his wife.
The wife does not have the right to refuse to consummate with the husband.
If the wife refuse to consummate, but the husband forces consummation, the law does not consider it rape.

In marital rape, regardless of the woman being willing or unwilling, it is considered the husband's right to have conventional consummation within the marriage, with the mitigation being that if she would not have objected, he would not have needed to force.

Even if they claim time-leap as excuse in this series, everything else in the story is according to today's times.
So their showing that she gets her husband arrested for something that is legally not a crime...
It's likely to mislead people into thinking there is actually such a law.
This is the one thing that even many developed countries took ages to finally get recognized as a legal offence.

The current legal situation's humiliation for women is that if the rape is done with sufficient caution to prevent any other injury to her, then she has no recourse.

JM only has the option of domestic violence law.
Raja can also claim persecution within the marriage by her refusal to consummate. And both can declare the other to be a liar on any number of matters. All that is fine points.
But that dratted promo had been having JM stand and say something which efforts have been on for, but she goes saying it like an existent law, and any number of people seeing it may assume that the act itself is legally a crime, rather than that everything on the periphery has to be used since the act itself is not a legal crime.

The problem here is that they are claiming that she'll be going after him for marital rape, which is not legally considered rape.

The wife actually does not have the option of punishing him for taking her against her will, attempted or otherwise.
It's an ongoing endeavour, but even developed countries took ages on this one.

thanks for explaining that beautifully Leela and enlightening us on the current legal status of marital rape in India 😊. Now I fail to understand how Madhu plans to take legal action against Raja for marital rape,since it isn't even considered a punishable offence??!! domestic violence...is that what the makers are going to be using as bait to get the law involved in JM's case? my issue is Raja's realisation or lack thereof about the graveness of what he has done...unless that's resolved,how can he be a hero?
