Chapter-2
Madhu's POV(11:00 PM)
I am lying on a single cot bed in my room and verifying the questions to be shot for 1 last time. After folding the paper and safely keeping on the bedside table, I gaze out of the window to cherish the full moon night and as I was feeling contented, the afternoon incidents came afresh in my mind.
"I don't know why mamma is overreacting about my marriage and what is this no marriage till 24? I think mamma is hiding something from me I should know it somehow. I don't know why didu is hell bound to get me married.
Should I talk about Vivian to Mamma? Is this the right time? On the other side I don't know what Vivian feels for me? Without knowing that and without knowing his feelings how can I say anything to mamma?"
I slap on my forehead and close my eyes and a smile curl on my lips.
"I have known him for years and I know what he feels for me but anyways I have to talk to him first and I will do it as soon as I get the opportunity."
With that I drift to a deep slumber thinking about the following day.

A dimly lit room, the source of the light cant be seen. The walls and ceiling are a deep, dark burgundy, giving a womb like effect to the spacious room. There is a large wooden cross like a X' fastened to the wall facing the door. Its made of high polished mahogany, and there are restraining cuffs on each corner. Above it is an expensive iron grid suspended from the ceiling, 8 foot square atleast, and from it hang all manner of ropes, chains and glinting shackles. But what dominates is the bed it is bigger than the king-sized bed with a flat top.
A man and a woman were lying on the bed with the man on top of her. He got out from the bed facing away from her, ran his hand through his just f**ked hair and his eagle eyes were a mixture of rage and fury. He turned to face her and she saw him and knew that something was wrong with him. She swallowed and tried to subdue the pain raising in her throat and body and he continued :
"This is what you deserve. Now you will think a 1000 times before decide to have another go on this. Now it will almost take years before you enjoy the next orgasm. I always want my out-house to be clean (raising his voice) GET OUT OF MY HOUSE YOU BLOODY BITCH BEFORE I DO THAT WITH MY OWN HANDS." His voice echoed through the entire house.
Saying angrily this to her, he proceeded towards his room leaving her tongue-tied. She was too frightened to even gaze into his dark red eyes and his eerie sound. She was crying throughout out of the pain which she was experiencing at the moment.

Madhu's House
Padmini: "Madhu get up beta. Didn't you sleep well yesterday? This is the first time you are sleeping after 7 in the morning. You told me that you have an important appointment today and you have to prepare for that. Get up sleepy head. Drink this coffee, you will feel better."
Madhu woke up with a start and looked at the time and immediately got up from the bed and rushed towards bathroom. She came out exactly at 7:45, did her puja, had her breakfast and headed towards the office exactly at 8:45 bidding goodbye to everyone. (routines of a typical middle class family)

Indian Times Office
Madhu(to the photographer): "Amith, we should reach the Kundra office by 10:30 which means we have leave within 5 mints so that we can be on time."
Amith(gathering his equipments): "Sure M'am, I am ready."

They stood near the gates of the huge building. It is a 10 storey office building all carved in glass and steel, an architect's fantasy, with KUNDRA INDUSTRIES' written discreetly in steel over the glass front doors. The building had tight security force and they even didn't step inside the building where they were stopped by the security.
Security: "Ma'm any appointment"
Madhu : "Yes, I am here to take the interview of Mr.Kundra"
Security: "Ma'm your name"
Madhu : "Madhubala Malik from Indian Times"
Security: "Yes we have the information.
Ma'm take left to head to the reception"
Madhu: "Thank you"
She made her way to the reception. There she found behind the solid desk, a very attractive, young woman who was smiling very pleasantly at her. She was wearing a blue suit coat and white shirt.
Madhu: "Hi, I am here to meet Mr.Kundra from Indian Times."
Lady: "Excuse me one minute. (she checks her desktop and enquires) So you are Ms.Malik right."
Madhu: "Ya, I am Ms.Malik"
Lady: "Ms.Malik as expected. Please ma'm sign in here.
Ma'm go straight you will find 5 elevators and take the 5th one as it is for the visitors and press 10 and ma'm here is your visitor id. Thank you and have a nice day."
Madhu: "Thank you and same to you."
Slowly she headed towards the elevator and walked past the two giant security guards who are far more smartly dressed than her. She sighed inwardly and walked in to the elevator and pressed 10.The elevator came to a halt at the 10th floor. The doors slide open and she found herself in another big lobby again with glass and steel. Again she was stopped by another young attractive woman who was dressed in black and white, who gave pleasantry smile to greet her.
Lady: "Ms.Malik, Could you please wait here?" (pointing towards the chairs in the lobby).
Madhu: "Sure"
Behind the chairs is a spacious board room built in glass. The room was vacant but still she could make out that nearly 50 people can dine at the same time. She slowly moved towards the glass wall and for a moment she was highly paralyzed by the view outside her. The entire city was visible from there. She sat down on the chair and she thought of preparing herself before the interview. She took the paper and was about to see the questions.
Suddenly two women make their way towards Madhu.
Lady1: "Ms.Malik?"
Madhu: "Yes" (trying to be more confident in her tone)
Lady1: "The meeting will be over with in 5 mints then you are ready to interview Mr.Kundra"
Lady2: "Have you been offered any refreshment?"
Madhu: "No"
she immediately regretted it as the 2 were glaring at the women near the lobby. She immediately came rushing towards her.
Lady3: "What would you like to have ma'm Coffee, tea or water?"
Madhu: "Water please"
She served her cold water.
Madhu: "Thank you"
Lady1: "Sorry Ms.Malik she is our new intern and she has to learn these"
Madhu smiled at them.
Madhu to herself: "Probably Mr.Kundra is like that and he insist on the employees like that. Mr. Kundra Seems to be a sort of control freak ."
Suddenly the door open wide and came from inside a man who was very healthy and he shouts inside through the door "Don't forget my party this evening, Mr.Kundra?"
He got a response from inside the cabin "Let me see whether I will be able to make it."
Madhu to herself: "Doesn't even have the manners to drop the person till door"
She found the man greeting the ladies and left.
Lady2: "Ms.Malik, you next and he is ready for the interview."
Madhu to herself: "Hey Devi Maa! Make this interview good both for me and Mr.Kundra. I hope he doesn't get angry with any of the questions I prepared. Please keep him calm while I shoot my questions to him. This interview is another milestone in my career and I probably expect a promotion after this interview so that I can help my family. Please help me."
