Kritika, the MEIEJ lead cast pay has had a payhike some months back to stick with the series for longer. And the series is already high-budget.
If TRP does not become much higher than the current one, the series will be making a loss on regular basis.
Channel can want a series to close down. That's the only result out of highly paid actors in a high-budget series and that series not raking in great TRP.

And TRPs will 100% rise
But to maintain that they have to improve the show
And then keep consistent quality
They have to change policy of two good episodes and eight bad ones
And in the end it is the storyline and execution which will get consistent trps

And bade ache lagte hain is on Sony -- where whatever trps bade ache lagte is getting is superb as compared to other shows

Anyway the point is if we are happy at being no 15 and mediocre trps
We can continue this kind of mediocrecity for a few more months At least
But if we want better trps and better ranking

Charu, I referred to this in the last para in the same post you quoted from. They had been doing quite major track revamping in both the serials you referred to.

A show that has big budget and/or expensive actors can afford nothing less than great TRP. That is why tracks get changed to get better TRP, and if nothing works, then either budget and cast are messed around with to reduce the series expense, or the series is closed.

Leelaa, is it really big budget? I don't see the evidence, the leads (one of whom is a superstar) repeat costumes, have never seen them in designer wear except for the wedding, furniture is shabby at times, the sheets in RM have never been changed. Maybe I'm sounding petty and ignorant but what do they really spend on apart from pay packages of the cast? They couldn't even afford a decent crowd for the dahi handi sequence in the chawl or when RK was surrounded by fans posing on his car. I feel they only spend on certain episodes like when they have celebs, have festivals, etc, it's definitely not on a daily basis.
