my take would be

mukund found about madhu sultan friendship

he found out mohan 's past

plotted fake meera and rasheed for real sultan

sultan fell into the trap

right now sultan and aaryan are in mukund's trap

or killed

and he is wearing mask and padded his body

he did that fall from cliff

sent real body of sultan for postmortem

and is now blackmailing and doing all this

that paper could be just a coincidence
