Kundra surname is really effective..the moment "K" was out of R+K, and chipkofied to Sultan K, he turned into a kameena 😆

@ bold - Ahaan..I like it😆...he can keep the K, Rishu will take the M😉. BTW, Rishu is no longer kameena by the same logic?? 😆

The episode unquestionably belonged to VD. Complete and total paisa vasool.
  • Episode started with Madhu frantically trying to stop RK from going and shooting Sultan. Otherwise everything would be destroyed. As in, not about RK becoming a murderer, but one bhai killing another bhai. Yes, fratricide would be a tragedy.
  • An anguished, unbelieving RK tries to ask his mother to say that what he is hearing is a lie - and that his father is the ideal man he believes. But Radhaji is unable to give him the assurance he wants, and tells him that it is indeed true - that his father did make a mistake, and that it was a cloud that hung over her married life.
  • I noticed that Radhaji did not rebut RK's broken declaration about MK being a bad husband and father. Was disappointed - I thought that at least as a father he had been someone RK could have loved (warts and all), if not respected.
  • RK is devastated - his entire sense of self has been shattered. This is going to be a huge deal in the near future. Only Madhu can help him rebuild, how she is going to will form the crux of the story going forward. If you think about it, when RK pointed the gun to his head, everyone pretty much just looked on, in varying stages of shock. Madhu was the one who raced over and yanked the gun decisively away from his head.
  • Sultan - this episode to me marked his complete transformation into the villainous antagonist. And no amount of gold plating or diamond encrusting will convince me otherwise.
    • Have to say, he looked and played the unclassy goon with conviction. Could totally imagine him in the sordid underworld.
    • So Sultan calls to gloat and to make RK eat crow. Loved Madhu's instinctive reaction when she heard Sultan gloating. Good, keep it up Madhu, and you will single-handedly pull both your husband and this show out of the doldrums.
    • Ironically, the man who cares two hoots about the law is now quoting it (incorrectly?) to rub in RK's "illegitimacy."
    • Without a shadow of doubt - Sultan hates RK. This was not about his poor demented mother. This was all about trying to get even. And he says it: that he fought and lost (Madhu) to RK. Madhu honey, did you hear this? Am assuming you got the drift.
  • Psst. Sultan. I wouldn't declare victory quite so soon. If I were a betting person, I would lay all my bets on RK.

Side notes:
  • Dips had a pretty smug expression on her face, until the point RK lost it, and putthe gun to his head. Then her face changed, and she did look concerned. Sikky had a mildly concerned look on his face - probably thanking his stars that his own father was one of those openly, unapologetically philandering types.

The Precap:
  • Madhu. Realizing how much is actually at stake - and that she can lose her husband.

RK brought me out of my exile... Needless to say, VD nailed the episode today with his powerful performance👏... I think it's been quite some time since I saw a full 20 min power-packed episode...

Neither was Radha in the wrong nor RK was wrong in questioning her.. Ya true Radha should not have let him hero-worship his father but then that very fact was what kept his kameenapanti under control...

One more thing about RK that I have always liked, is that he never considers himself a good person and even today he reiterated the fact saying that my dad was no better than me followed by saying that prolly it was in his blood!!!!!

Everything else was self-sufficient supported with dialogues...

Our very own dear Bhai has openly admitted of losing madhu to RK but alas no reaction was shown from the supporting cast..
Thank goodness for small mercies, Dipzy in the middle atleast showed some concern..
The tears in Bittuji's eyes👍🏼

I once again repeat, VD was the star of the episode followed by Shama Deshpande...

Oops I forgot to give a special mention to the CV's and their knowledge of legitimate and illegitimacy... Drama ke naam pe sab swaha kar diya but it was a gripping well-executed episode so jaane diya

Yes, good riddance to ugly rubbish I say.🤣 BTW, I did note that RK only glowered balefully at MK's photo - but didn't fling it to the floor as I half-expected.

The other thing is - the episode was all about RK, but if Madhu comes through in the future, I think we can count the telephone glare moment as the moment of the month.

He said I inherited my father's legacy..bec. MK was a kameena, he's a kameena...this thinking is wrong..that's the reason i never liked it when Radha gave the example of MK whenever RK did something wrong...means RK doing all that is justified now? achai ya burai legacy mein nahi milti, a person's own karma shapes up his destiny...
him telling Madhu to not touch him bec. he's a bura aadmi ? 🤔

Charu, he didn't try to justify his wrong doings nor was he thinking that way... He was reminding his mother that you have always been telling me that my dad would have been ashamed of my activities but knowing his true colors, he would have been a proud father of the Right Kameena... The dialogues were in the same vein in the sense that I am a bad person but my dad was no better than me types... It was for himself, pulling his father down the pedestal and bringing him right into the league of his own...

@bold: He considers himself najayaz in his words gandi naali ka keeda, hence that moment of disgust at his birth...

Lets not get into the CV's idea of legitimacy and illegitimacy...

River, the telephone glare of madhu was exactly same expression dd gave before wedding when she asked sultan to get out.. We all know what happened to her relationship with sultan after that.. That is why I don't have much faith in
Her.. Once she thinks things have settled between her and rk she might start bhai milap mission.. Her trust on sultan is so deep that her anger is .. I hated her woh uska khoon kar dega dab barbad ho jayega bhai bhai ko mar dega.. What bhai bhai.. Kehne se ye emotions aa jayenge?? What if in future sultan kills
rk?? I will hate her forever if she wants a sultan rk reconciliation..
And there was no expression at sultan's declaration that he lost madhu.. She was least bothered.. So did she always know his feelings for her and just admired that as his ability to live and platinum plating??

Wonder if the planning of this track has been miscalculated in the same way as the unwedding in terms of main factors and consequent impact.
The unwedding was not the first track of its sort, but it was the first where the deception was revealed retroactively after months, tainting months of episodes for a shock-and-stun twist.
Other serials pulling off such a track make sure the audience knows much earlier so that they don't staggered. MEIEJ opted for a brief point of great shock, and never considered that the success of the series was most integrally because the audience was much more emotionally invested in this couple than in most other couples where such tracks have been tried in recent times.
Likewise, the current confounding about the complications within Indian law in facets of legitimacy-illegitimacy is somewhat similar to a previous track of another serial of one of the writers. There, the characters all assumed certain things about marital legitimacy and validity, and it was only quite a while later that some of them accidentally found out that the law was far more complicated in the matter, and moreover was in their favour.
But what the channel and the PH repeatedly seem to forget is that DVD individually and Rishbala as a couple have far more reaction-impact on the fandoms and the TRP audience respectively than most other actors, characters and pairings when it comes to furious reactions and revulsion for anything negatively impacting them.
Tracks that can be stretched for weeks and months in other serials get explosive reactions, loathing and revulsion with extreme immediacy when it comes to MEIEJ.
Really hope there's no repeat of the unwedding-and-aftermath idiocy where they tried the fans patience with stretching out track after track that everyone wanted over and done with quickly.
Because at least for the the early phase then, there was no third character with an exceptional capability of invoking mass antipathy.
Considering that now that very mass reaction has become extremely visible enough (wonder if any sponsors had any actual or metaphorical screaming fits) to have made the channel choke on its majority-detested 'trio-montage' idea and hobble back to a Rishbala-couple montage, having another detestable track stretch for too long may be imprudent.
DVD's performances are invariably superb, but the TRP audience in increasing numbers has proven that it would rather abstain from what it loves than swallow unwanted stuff as an adjoined penalty.
Any attempt to use Rishbala as a stalking-horse is provenly doomed, as a rather expensive lesson for the adage 'the customer (TRP audience) is always right'.
The precap was tempting me to watch tomorrow's episode in first telecast, but months of experience with unwatchable or switch-and-bait episodes make it easy to decide to stick to updates and appreciate worthwhile scenes later.

Minu, I can only live in hope. Thats the one thing that keeps me going, enduring day after day of you know who.

Madhu is one of those hard to fathom characters. But I do think that for the moment at least, she might drop the bhai-bhai bit, and concentrate on her husband. And I am actually ok with her pushing the bhai angle, under the following circumstances: Picture a scenario when Sultan is shot in a police encounter. He is about to breathe his last, when Madhu tearfully brings RK to see him to effect a reconciliation, and before RK can utter the magic words (Bhaiyya!), boom, its over. Sniff.
