Hi guys, I've got a question you know Meera said that Radha and Meera have got significance to Lord Krishna,who was Meera to Krishna in hindu mythology?

Radha I've heard of before and her relationship to the young Krishna, thanks to armummy for explaining more about the pure love symbolism of Radha Krishnan and the devotion of Meera to Krishna.

I think both were extremely devoted to Krishna. In MEIEJ Radha now knowing the devotion both have for god will feel guilty and get her closer to revealing the truth, thats the significance of the dialogue I feel now.

Meera was a devotee of Krishna . Krishna and Radha are lovers , they are not married.Radha Krishna is the only worshiped Jodi which symbolizes pure love . She is not a second wife.

Meera was just a devotee. Anything more you can tell me about Meera in Krishna's life?

Radha I knew was a mistress which is the same as a lover but I know temples are built worshipping both Radha Krishnan so she was important and now I see the symbolism.

But I really wanted to know more about Meera in hindu mythology, just to see exactly how Radha felt when seeing that Krishna there and the exact meaning to her when Meera said the dialogue that Meera and Radha were important to Krishna. Could you tell me a bit more about Meera?

As far as I know Krishna - meera Relationship is god - devotee relationship , devotees are always important to gods and i think she was one of greatest devotees of Krishna, I am not 100% sure but meera was married to somebody else but left everything because of her devotion kind of took sanyas . I think they lived in different time periods too .

edit :Radha is not a mistress , she is elder to Krishna and was his first love

Radha was not a mistress. They grew up together in vrindavan and loved each other. They never got married but their love is seen as pure and true. That's why we always worship Radha Krishna together. I'm not sure about this...but after Krishna left for Mathura, I don't think he ever met Radha again and I'm not sure if Radha ever got married.

You are correct , I just added that to my last post , she is in fact elder to Krishna and was his first love

Ya I knew that she was his first love but I didn't know she was older than him. I kinda want to know more about their story.

Thanks Shweta, mistress only mentioned because she was never his wife, I was looking for more meaning here with regards to MEIEJ situation, like was Meera the wife and Radha the lover only, you see. Off course Radha Krishnan are seen as pure and true love. But now I've concluded that they were both (radha and meera) devoted to him, therefore in Radha's mind when Meera said this dialogue today only makes her feel guilty for what she is hiding as both her devoted to Krishna baghwan.

Not sure about Meera, but Radha was married to someone.
