Madhu might be saying just to make Sultan go, if she is saying that.

And for now she just wants to marry RK without telling anyone. She might feel Sultan will tell Paddy and Paddy might come and stop the marriage, so maybe she is lying to Sultan.

But unfortunately maybe RK hears it and might misunderstand her.

Madhu didn't explain it properly to Sultan, I'm sure, or RK didn't hear everything of the conversation. When he confronts them both his too angry to hear Madhu.
