Chapter Fifty – The Happily Ever After

I watched as a guy wearing a red and gold wedding sherwani walked into the room. He wore a sehra, which covered his face, making it hard to see who was behind the get up. He came to stand in front of me as I tried to look past the curtain of flowers covering his face. I looked towards Adi, hoping for some help.

"Madhu, say hello to your husband to be."

I watched as the man slowly raised the curtain of flowers. My heart skipped a beat as I saw RK standing in front of me. He smiled down at me as my jaw hit the ground. I stepped back, confused at what was happening. I looked at the three of them, RK, Adi, and Priya, waiting for an answer. Eventually Adi stepped forwards.

"Let me explain. You see, what happened was that when I found out that RK knew where you were and planned to bring you back home, I came up with a new mission. I couldn't do it myself though. I went straight to Supriya and told her everything. She offered to help the minute she found out you were still alive. Now don't act as though you don't know what our mission was all along. Obviously it was to reunite RK and you. I can't believe you thought I'd fall for you! I guess I got lucky with that one. I've never seen you as more than a sister. I actually loved you as a sister and cared for you as a sister. So when I found out that RK refused to accept his feelings, I had to make him jealous. I proposed to you out of the blue and it shocked me when you said yes. I honestly was expecting a no. Then I decided leaving you two alone would be best. RK didn't send Neha away for the week, I did. Ever since you came back into the Kundra home, my main goal was to reunite you with RK. I'm just going to apologize for everything that happened along the way. PLEASE DON'T HURT ME!"

He laughed, as I stood there stunned. My eyes landed on Priya who was smiling at me.

"You have no idea how hard it was not to talk to you as I used to. Pretending like I was meeting you for the first time that day was the hardest thing I've ever done."

I turned to stare back at RK and wondered if he had known all along.

"You knew…?"

"Nope. I found out this morning. I walked outside and found Adi waiting there in front of me. I didn't even know that him and Supriya had been together for years…but I guess that's what happens when I don't go to office. I always wondered why he had pictures of her up in his room. I thought they were just friends."

That explained why I was never allowed into Adi's room. As I stared at them, I couldn't help but feel annoyed. I crossed my arms and looked towards the ground.

"I'd like a proper proposal."

I heard them laugh but I was serious.

"Madhu…"

I looked up at RK who was getting down onto one knee. He then very slowly brought out a ring in front of him. The same ring he had given to me the first time he had proposed to me. I began to tear up as he proposed to me in the same manner.

"You're the most beautiful girl in the world…marry me."

I smiled and remembered back to the first time he had proposed to me.

"You're the most beautiful girl in the world."

"You're kidding!"

He slowly wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me close into himself. I raised my hands and rested them on his chest as he smiled down at me passionately.

"Marry me."

My eyes widened at his sudden proposal. We were only the mere age of eighteen and getting married was not something I wanted at such a young age.

"Now?"

"When we're twenty. Marry me Madhu."

"Hey mister, I'd like a proper proposal!"

"But I don't have a rin…wait! I got it! Close your eyes."

"Yes sir!"

I closed my eyes slowly and waited for him to say something.

"Open."

As I opened my eyes I saw him down on one knee, holding out the ring he never took off his finger since I'd met him. He shrugged while gesturing towards his ring as though to say it was all he had. Then he smiled and looked up at me.

"Will you marry me Madhubala Malik?"

"Now?"

He smiled as I asked him the same question I had years ago.

"I was hoping we'd get married at twenty, but now I'd like to get married before thirty."

I giggled and waited for him to finally ask me the question.

"Will you marry me Madhubala Malik?"

I let a tear roll down my face as I nodded my head up and down. I put my hand out as people cheered and clapped around us. I watched as he put the ring onto my finger just as he had done years back. I looked at the ring and then down at him. He shrugged as though to say it was the only ring he had. I kissed the ring and then he stood and pulled me into a tight hug. I wrapped my arms around him in response and looked at Adi and Surpriya over my shoulder. I mouthed the words 'thank you' and watched them smile and nod their heads.

"The auspicious time is going to pass."

As we heard the pandit speak, the four of us went to take our places.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife."

Everyone cheered and screamed with joy. The four of us stood up and RK picked me up in his arms. He spun me in a circle as we both smiled and stared into each other's eyes.

"I love you so much Madhu."

"I love you too."

He stopped spinning me and we both glanced towards the other happy couple. I saw Supriya in Adi's arms and we both looked as our husband's exchanged odd looks. Then suddenly they ran out of the building with us.

"What are you doing RK?!"

"Biwi, there's not going to be a reception tonight. Adi and I have made separate night plans already."

He raised an eyebrow and smirked down at me as I understood what he meant. I lowered my eyes and felt my cheeks flush red.

As we reached home, we went to our respective rooms. RK gently placed me down in his bed and I smiled up at him. He got onto the bed and laid on top of me, not putting his body weight on me. He looked my face up and down, from my eyes, to my lips.

"You really are the most beautiful girl in the world Madhu."

I felt my cheeks flush red again as I lowered my eyes and smiled. I felt his eyes on me as my heart began to race. I felt his breath near my neck and then my eyes closed as his moist lips made contact with my skin. He kissed my neck gently and then pulled away. My heart was exploding with joy by that point. I looked back up at him, my eyes flickering and my lips quivering at our proximity. He smiled his perfect smile down at me and then spoke passionately.

"I'm the luckiest guy alive."

I felt his fingers slowly take off my earrings, my tikka, and my nosepiece. I couldn't control the rate my heart was beating at. I looked into his eyes as I laid in only my wedding lengha. Then very slowly he began to close in on me. I closed my eyes before he did and felt his lips brush against mine. As though he were teasing me. I heard his low chuckle against my lips and I couldn't wait any longer. I grabbed his hair and pulled him into a fierce kiss. I felt his moist lips against mine as he kissed me roughly. He moaned under the kiss causing a pleasant chill to run down my spine. We kept at it until both of us ran out of breath and had to pull away. We both caught our breath and then I opened my eyes to see him smiling down at me. He spoke with his perfect husky voice as he caught his breath.

"Ready to make this night the most special night of our lives biwi?"

"Are you thinking what I think you are?"

He laughed and jumped off the bed. I followed his movement as I chased him out of our room.

"I'll beat you there biwi!"

"No you won't patidev!"

We ran and ran. We ran out of the mansion gates and down the streets in our wedding clothes. I caught up to him and he interlocked his fingers with mine. We ran until we reached our destination. We looked up to see Raju uncle. The uncle we went to for pani puri on our first date and every week after that. He had told us that young love doesn't last forever but with our weekly visits we had made him believe otherwise. We met him for two years every week and he had basically become family. RK and I exchanged a look as we realized he still worked there in old age.

"Raju uncle, you still work here?!"

"MADHU?! RISHABH?!"

He came out from behind his mini pani puri shop and pulled the both of us in for a hug.

"I knew you guys would come…I knew it. I waited. I waited all these years. After you two made me believe that young love can last forever, and then you two suddenly disappeared, I told myself I'd wait here for you two. I waited."

He pulled away and stepped back, while looking the both of us up and down.

"I'm so proud of you two! You two know what love is. Congratulations on your wedding! I knew you two would last forever. I just knew it."

I teared up as I realized how much faith he had in our relationship. I smiled and hugged him again.

"Thank you Raju uncle, for believing in us…"

"I missed you guys!"

He spoke in a rough voice. It was obvious he was tired and old…

I pulled away as RK spoke.

"We missed you too."

RK spoke so kindly and I looked up at him, happy to see my Rishabh back.

"Now let me hand you two what you came for!"

He went back and handed us a plate of pani puri. RK picked up one and looked at it. Just as I was about to object, he stuffed it into my mouth. I chewed and swallowed. We laughed in sync and then pulled each other in for a hug.

"I missed you so much Madhu. I love you."

"I missed you too. I love you more."

He kissed my forehead and I pulled away slowly to smile up at him. He bent down and placed his lips onto mine. As he kissed me gently, I heard Raju uncle speak in the back, just as he had done so on our first date, but he spoke different words.

"Young love really can last forever."

OMG.. I can't believe.. M first again.. Wohooo..! But i had to be.. Afterall i stalked the thread for more than half hour.. And when i saw ur name i almost had an adrenaline rush.. Hoot Hoot.. Yayyy!!!

Awww and the update.. It was splendid, amazing, awesome.. I can't tell you how much i loved it and waited for it..!

Bt now it has came to an end but i won't forget this FF.. It was one of ur best FF Pritzoo.. I'll miss reading it..!

Now thats its ending.. I just wanted to thank you for writing this mysterious yet amazing FF.. And on a special note.. I know throughout the FF i kept on blabbering and annoyed for knowing the secret.. LOL.. 🤣
