The episode, the tone , that shifted from , resolve and determination yesterday, to pain and so much pain today. I am feeling emotionally overwhelmed with how Madhu recounted what she has been through at the hands of RK , in front of Sultan.
There is nothing that I can say , about this character, and the immense ache inside her. The numbness , the recurring sharp twist of a knife inside everytime RK comes to her and professes 'their destiny together', every moment she spends in that 'studio' of his, and every pang that she must suppress , every revulsion she must conceal, it came out before Sultan.
And it should matter to her , that Sultan should not weaken her, that he should support, that though this is her fight alone, she needs that support.
Why should RK be handled with kid gloves? He blames everyone else for his mistakes and makes them pay heavily. Even today, even after treating her with such disrespect in front of everyone, he thinks his magnificently inadequate apology is sufficient. That she will overcome and all will be well between them!
After the 'unwedding' I recall what she had gone through.. and I dare not imagine the pain. The pain that comes from not only deceit and heart-break, but from the self-respect that was tarnished so viciously.. so methodically. Imagine how traumatic it would be to look at herself in the mirror , after being made such a cruel joke of, after realizing that she so naively believed a lie and gave up almost everything for it.. and that it truly was worth nothing.
It eats away at one's own trust in oneself.. its debilitating , such deceit. RK was shrewd , and he knew well, that someone hit like this, would really be a cripple through out their life. But he had not counted on her spirit,
and why should she now not strike back from the hurt, the enormous hurt she has and still is recevig from this unrepentant shallow man?
WHat has he ever done do deserve anything but disgust from her? Two days of being restless in her absence and he brought her back! so what suffering did he go through? and even today, she is expected to respect and realize that he cannot do without her , that she's his possession , the he cannot see her moving on and SO she must return and never leave?!
really? Is that the kind of man Madhu is supposed to love , and care for? the one who thought its natural for a man to doubt his wife in the manner that he did, and then humiliate her so badly in public and then carry on like nothing ever happened when its proven she's not guilty!
Didnt she do it all already, love him like she has never loved anyone nefore? and what good did that do? Men like RK , need to be shaken up ..
She is right. In RK's universe, he's alone. the only that counts. The only who feels anything, and the only one who deserves love and respect and loyalty unquestioned. He actually believes he's above reproach of any kind for any reprehensible actions of his! Its laughable that such a character gets away with sympathy and Madhu gets bashed.
I felt torn inside as she got rightfully angry in defending her right to retribution.. why should she be 'understanding' and live with such a man for who she is just an object? why should she ruin her life with him? She's got dreams and wishes, and living with a megalomaniac arrogant callous narcissist drama queen like him isn't one of them
She deserves a life which does not kill her soul living it, she deserves freedom and she deserves love and respect. More, she deserves to live like any other normal human being and retaliate when the pain gets too harsh to bear.
Love this woman so much. Just love her. She almost reduced me to tears with how like just another ordinary human being ' she wanted to be treated as..
she was fierce , and so vulnerable.. she was stunning today. a magnificent woman.
(On a separate note: shame on Radha for cajoling Rk when he behaved so abominably with her daughter-in-law. She has no right to castigate Deepali.. She's worse than them all, with no spine to talk about.)
