And my pet peeve is that people who say Madhu going back to RK gives wrong message to the society that men can abuse their women and still get away with it. (From what I see Madhu gives back to him as good as she gets).
WRONG!! She stands up for herself. Self defence is NOT the same as dishing out abuse or being controlling! The female character here, has not:
1. Threatened self harm or harm to another in order to get her way
2. Physical restrained the male
3. Tried to break his spirit, humiliate him, belittle him, tell him he isn't good enough for her

But Madhu getting married to Sultan will promote a disgusting notion prevalent in Indian society that divorced or estranged women can only get widowers or father of 1-2 kids.
The promotion of that notion is FARRR better than the notion that if you stay with a pyscho and/or abusive husband/boyfriend and keep loving him and sudhaarofying him, and pray to Bapa continuously, then he will change and you both will live happily ever after.
Frankly the promotion of the notion that what rk has been doing is not abuse and that men like him change/redeem is FAR MORE DISGUSTING, then that of divorced women only getting widowers.
Oh and by your very admission that tv promotes/influences notions that it portrays, you are agreeing that the glorification and romanicisation of abuse that is being shown, will give out a huge negative msg, if this series ends with madhu and rk togather.
Currently there is ample proof on this forum alone that seeing the continuous abuse of women in tv serials, many are not recognizing abuse in this serial or that rk is an abuser.

Just because he respects her.. Respect is one important ingredient of a good marriage. But not the crux!

As for your idea that there may be guys in the chawl who respect her...then why not... a 3rd budding romantic line will keep the serial running!
And can't beat this one! Because she bonds well with Aryan! 😆 Most girls like kids and many of the girls in this forum would have some soft spots for random kids in their vicinity.. Are u trying to say that these girls should marry their fathers? Ew!! I definitely don't think so..
Nobody has given Aryan as the reason madhu should end up with Sultan. I certainly haven't come across any such post.
In the same way as subala fans tell rishbala fans..."if rk was a paan spitting fat ugly slob who didn't have sexy eyes, you wouldn't be believing how he behaves with madhu as hatke, romantic or love. In the same way rishbala fans can say, madhu wouldn't like sultan if he wasn't sexy. But I don't think any girl like madhu would like someone just coz he is sexy.
Lets see what Sultan has to offer. His track is only just begun and look at the following!!! Rk has had months. And we found out that all the bits relating to love, respect or even basic insaaniyat were just him acting.
Madhu ending up with rk is definitely going to promote something really good to naive impressionable or uneducated masses! NOT!!
Good post by the way. Thank you for admitting what we see in the media does influence! Personally I would like to see Madhu go it alone.
