I'm getting really confused with this track! Who's becoming the hero and who is the villan? It looks like RK from having shades of grey is becoming completely dark grey!! With his whole lets-completely-ruin-Madhu obsession and "uska naam kya hai" chants!! Occasionally, they try to show that he likes her and isn't over her, but those small bouts are barely enough to redeem his character.

On the hand we have Sultan, who's completely supposed to be a negative character and so far, his character has been negative enough, with shades of white. He apologises, helps RK, loves his son is some weird manner. But somehow I feel, they are more bent on showing him in a greater positive light. Madhu's very deep attachment to Aryan, helping Sultan when he injures him name, answering RK's question of "who's your lover" with his name it all seems to suggest he's going to take a more central role.

Now I'm not completely against making a character negative or a negative character positive, if done with tact and nicely, but this kinda is what is expected and happens in many series. Boy does something, girl goes to new entry and later repents and comes back to old hero! I kinda wish they did something different.

Hmmm but why are we exactly looking for such clear demarcations?

RK was never going to be a typical hero...He was always a dark character with shades of grey...And given his ego, his realization will take a long time...if they showed him realizing and repenting so easily, it wouldn't be RK.

He is a TWISTED man...hence his love for Madhu is also TWISTED...twisted with his own brand of obsession and the poison that eats him inside...

As for Sultan...they are deffo trying to project him with lighter shades of grey so that they can get more of the audience as well as Madhu to sympathize with him.

Why doesn't everyone just enjoy the story rather than trying to slot the characters into boxes? Maybe we should let them tell their story rather than finding a clear hero or villain to root for?

I enjoy the character of RK not cuz he's a hero but cuz he's a multi-layered character the likes of which are rare on TV.
