I like that things are not clear cut. Nothing is clearly white or black. It's mixed up. Glad the CVs are making it like this.

RK is the hero (not as per our perception of a hero) as the story revolves around him and Madhu.

Sultan,however,is not a typical villain as we see it. He is,more or less ,an anti hero.
Antihero as the definition goes"

The Antihero is someone with some of the qualities of a villain, up to and including brutality, cynicism, and ruthlessness, but with the soul or motivations of a more conventional Hero.

and this fits Sultan perfectly.
