Part 1
The room is infused with dazzling, white light. Live feed streaming through from all four walls. RK is quite disoriented as he wakes up and notices his room now has four large flat screen TVs on each wall. All of them streaming video, in silent, from the time he spent with Madhu, before the Unwedding. He can't take it anymore! He jumps up from the bed, runs to the door and tries to open it, but it's locked.
RK (bangs on the door): What the hell?!? Let me out! Patil'Mangesh! If you don't let me out this instance, I will fire you! Do you understand?!? Come on open this damn door!
He steps back as he hears the key turning on the door. In steps Radhaji and Bittuji garbed in white lab coat and carrying clipboard. They are followed by four burly, strong men.
RK (glares): What the hell is going on?
Radhaji writes something down on the chart.
Not cured.
RK (screams): What in hell is going on? Ma what are you writing? Dammit'why aren't you speaking to me?
Bittuji (calmly): We are trying to cure you Chief. So we came up with a treatment plan.
RK (screams even louder): I don't need curing!
Radhaji writes again on her chart.
Still in denial.
RK (trying to push the men away as they hold him down): What the hell? Do you know who I am? I am Superstar RK! Ma'Bittuji' tell them who I am! Let me go'I am late for shooting.
Radhaji makes additional notes.
Still egotistical.
Bittuji (leaving two bottles of Scotch on RK's side table): Sorry Chief. But for your own good'we can't let you out till you have been cured.
The four men hold RK down till Radhaji and Bittuji leaves the room. The men push RK on the bed and quickly leave the room. By the time RK runs to the door, the door has been locked.
RK looks around in frustration.
Damn! I am perfectly healthy. I don't need any curing!
The volume goes up, onscreen Madhu capturing RK's attention. He walks in a daze to the side table and opens up a bottle of scotch and takes a swig. His eyes drink in Madhu's every expressions, words and actions. RK takes a few more swigs, till he's almost finished the first bottle. Now quite inebriated, he is immensely engrossed in watching his Ex-Biwi.
Biwi'Biwi'Biwi'why did you leave me? I miss you'come back to me.
In a few hours
RK wakes up. He has a pounding headache from the scotch he has drunk. Thankfully, TVs are turned off so it won't exacerbate his poor condition. The door opens again and in steps Radhaji and Bittuji with the four men.
Bittuji: How are you Chief?
RK (holding his head): You call this treatment?
Radhaji makes a note.
Grumpy. But some progress last night. Admitted to missing Madhu.
RK (irritated at Radhaji): Ma'what do you keep scribbling? You're not going to talk to me?
Radhaji does not answer. Instead she turns on the TVs. RK's eyes burn with anger as the video shows the night Madhu was missing. She gets out of a stranger's car, a man's car from the glimpse of the profile, and walks into the chawl. Radhaji pauses the video at the point where RK starts interrogating Madhu.
Bittuji: Chief'what do you think?
RK (caustically): Madhu returning from a jaunt with her lover.
Radhaji scribbles on her paper.
Scratch progress. Far from cured.
She silently indicates Bittuji who then leaves a bottle of scotch and lunch on the table.
They leave the room, as RK scrambles out of bed, to once again pound on the closed door. TVs are turned on again. To drown away the noise, he opens up the new bottle of scotch and gulps it down. He keeps staring at Madhu on screen. She's so beautiful. Her smile can brighten up the room. Her laughter is like music to his ears.
I love you Biwi'please come back to me.
