So I watched like the last 2-3 episodes of Madhubala and yes, I am also having all these Sultan feels! <3
Firstly, I love Avi's portrayal of Sultan. He's the strong-silent types --in a literal way. He doesn't say a peep but yet gives of soo many unwanted vibes and shrills down my spine.
Do I like him? Yes.
Do I love him? Eh...getting there?
Do I want more of him in the show? Yes.
I don't know, Sultan makes me feel weird in a good way. I mean, I was watching his 2nd epi in this show and all I could think of was that he was the type of guy who knows what he wants and how to get what he wants --without saying a word. If he wants you to die, he'll kill you and not gloat about it. If he wants you to stay protected and safe, he'll do so without hearing anything that you have to say.
I think Sultan is a man who fell prey to the circumstances around him. I don't think he was a 'bhai' from the start. I think he turned into a bhai after the death of his wife. Who knows? Maybe him shooting everyone in sight is the way he takes revenge for his wife's death? On a side note, did his wife die?
And his son. I feel like he loves his son but he's cold towards him --well maybe b/c he is a bhai and as shown, 'bhai's cannot love' or maybe the last person whom he was close to was his wife. And when she passed away and left him with a son, he felt that if he loved his son like he loved his wife, he'll break into pieces if something happened to him.
Sultan is broken. Broken as can be. He is strong on the outside but he's like hard metal on the inside --terrible fragile. He's scared to love --in my thoughts only because he knows from past experience that love can cause pain --and that's one of the reasons why he dislikes Madhu? Because he knows that attachment and love can only lead to heartbreak, weakness and disappointment?
