Why would you want there to be an underlying 'good' reason?. That would make it similar to every other show. Boring --dont you think?

As for him accepting God and his mother--- these are beings that he knowsshould be reveredin any social or religious scale and they are suppose to be way above him.-- So no threat to ego. Madhu is just another human like him and therefore has no right to be at par level with him.

As for the damage that Deepali did to his ego in the past--- he doesnt care anymore. It is of no importance to him , or rather her opinion of him is absolutely dismissable compared to his madhu , his love , that he so wants to deny.

Poor confused RK. I love the way this show is shaping up and I love feeling sorry for the leads!
