I wish I could watch without Soundarya watching me !!! 🤣 Well agree the action is not per their standard. But will they get it elsewhere, other than go watch western soaps, movies or fear factor. 😆 😆 Time pass unka bhi ho jaayega, if you ask me.

Actually my husband and brother are also always trying to pull us down in our tastes. And they show as if our choice is not good. Their ego does not allow them to say it. But they are quite proud of our tastes. They show it in words at ungaurded times when they try to remind showtimes.

Oh I know what you mean. both of us are huge Bollywood buffs. We were actually discussing ...oh this is from agneepath (fire all around), this is from sholay, now the dust will fly around him and his eyes will open...stuff like that.
And you know what I told him...yes, it is my favourite serial, isn't it so much fun to watch?!!😆. Most other serials have confrontations in the living room of their set with the family standing around in circles. 😆

but today i feel so sad...to see so many disappointed reviews..!!

When compared to other show's, today's was one hell of an episode...
Be it action sequence, dialogues or acting...!!
Its a Tv show..everything cannot be edited and perfected like in movies..!!

that's been said...i know everyone has different opinion..
so i guess i will stay out of this thread for today...
and come back for the next episode...!!

Sorry if i have hurt anyone..!!

Devika,

Please don't be disappointed. this particular thread always has a good mix of positive and negative views, which is really my reason to visit it every single day. I express myself freely, and we are all united in that we love this serial, love this couple to bits and all of us love the MBEIEJ creative team as well. I sincerely wish that they go through our discussion thread to get a balanced perspective on episodes.

Just for you, let me enumerate what I loved yesterday.
  • RK tells the goodas...RK apne stunts khud karta hai!! And beats them all senseless. Ultimately, it is a cowardly peeche se vaar that gets him down!
  • Madhu's faith in RK...her hauslon se veer, and then her family carries it on...the place reverberates with the chant.
  • The most scary part, and I don't know how DD did it...when he shoots the stool, and she 's hanging there for a few seconds at least. I'm wondering how they shot that, I did not see anything around that could have protected her, or anything to indicate it was a cheat shot.
  • I loved it ...while RK holds her up, and she tries hard to get out the binding around her hands. She's not an ablaa nari, she's trying desperately to get out of it herself. Complete team work by both of them.
  • Madhu recovers and RK tells her to run, but she comes back, protects him. And once again stuns RK...his expression was classic, .her deewangee for him never ceases to surprise him.
  • Madhu was smiling all through, when she realises he's gone into a trance and is going to kill Balraj, her face changes, she runs and stops him.
  • RK's face when he thinks that Madhu's been shot...he looks like he's lost everything, he looks like he wants to die himself
  • Padmini's rage...her helplessness initially turns into rage, her dialogue to Balraj when she's tied, and he says...yeh kaun bola...chuhiya or something...
  • I also recognised that the episode brought out... the whole attitude of Balraj and his gang...violence is the way of life for them, and total disrespect for women is ingrained in them. This actually deserves a whole analysis by itself. When Madhu covers RK, the men continue beating her, they don't even pull her away, so that they can continue beating up RK...it is scary, you know that kind of disrespect. It was violent but they did manage to bring out the patriarchal, misogynistic nature of men who don't know any different.
Phew...this is from one viewing, just last night's viewing. if i do get to watch it again, am sure I will notice far more. 😆.

Well, don't be sad with the reviews. I am with you. I loved today's episode. Infact my entire family loved the episode. Kids too. If we look for logic - well we don't see in any of the so-called blockbuster movies or any of the parallel serials which are aired. The story moved forward, and the action sequences, dialogues, acting were of top notch. The two episodes - Friday and Saturday - took Indian Television serials to a notch higher, I think. I might turn out to be wrong. But that was my feeling after watching the episode.

Pyar, mohabbat, ishk, kissing - we have seen them in other episodes, and many looked forward in this serial too. This part of MB is not about only pear and Mohabbat. Ballu is back big time and trying to finish off Madhu and someone has to save her from Ballu. So, action and dhamaka is must for this part of the serial. The CVs have done excellent job trying to portray love and emotions too during the eposide.

Coming to the discussion post, well too much of big rant negativity put me off initially. But then each are different with a different mindset and emotions na. So understandable. But this time, in the discussion, negativity outnumbered positivity. Makes me a bit sad.

All in all, I think, this episode is worth many times dekko! A truly path-breaking episode.

For all of us, who liked this episode, I am with you.

For others, I will be with you later. :-)

Enjoy your weekend.

I agree. I too have been tired with negative outlook for 25 lakhs spent on the action drama. Everytime I and others wanted to have interesting discussion around the action drama, comments that just stifled our desire to debate came up. Personally I tried injecting anything that gives me back equal thought, in a mild non-intrusive manner, and I never got the response I desired. In that regard, the thread was totally disappointing from he days the spoilers started coming regards to action. I am saying this inclusive of the Media Track discussions.

Out of all this discussion, from past two days, that gave me pleasure was:

1) I was able to rant on Indian Police for those who seemed to have lot of faith in calling Indian Police; and was able to advise people what we should do when in need of Police. Because, we learned it hard way. If I want my country to be better, I need to inject back the fighting spirit and right operating knowledge that can help us. This was personal.

2) My interest in the fourth outdoor set, that I instinctively felt as a wise investment in the name of drama, as it was inwardly making me happy. As I started analyzing logistics around it for the production team, I was rewarded with the news how much the producer spent for the whole action drama. Everything is backed by finance. So why worry that money is spent on outdoor set and action. I will be actually enjoying, because I crave for new sets in soap dramas. I feel stifled and suffocated seeing soap drama in the same house, day in day out. That is one thing, which for no reason, keeps downgrading the drama quotient for me. And Sets and Props are essentials for Drama enhancement. There are people who spend 50% of their attention everyday on the ambience on the surrounding. As it is I have got tired seeing RK Mansion and Natraj Studios. Earlier the Chawl used to irritate me, now even Chawl seems a respite when compared to RK mansion.

3) My curiousity made Bhakti research on Action Scripting. She saved my time and my thoughts are validated. 👏

Eventually we all end up reading what made soaps like X Files, Friends, House MD, Once upon a Time go on for years. And whatever I read, I have seen the professional commitment, the money spent in those productions, the locales (Vancouver sets are cheaper than Los Angeles sets), the story writers, their guilds, the awards and finally as people get bored, how to plan EXITS...and in between the actors themselves becoming directors or story writers. For ex David Duchovny directed one episode and Gillian Anderson wrote for one episodic story in X Files. And the way Once Upon a Time is weaved, it tells us how each thing is a creative effort. And what is Colors. Well a channel with Viacom 18 running it. So they do bring their MNC culture into content presentation here. And that allows me to take everything positively, analyse and give my feedback,...because eod, I do not have trust on Indian TV producers (Indians are known to be lax around professionalism and Quality, though very intelligent and creative with no time left on hands), but I have trust on the international organization that runs the channel. So if they spend bucks, they mean they have brainstorming sessions every day. It could be too much controlling on the show producer, but then ultimately it is about TRP...and who knows what the real TRP is. We all know, lack of proper measurement scales is making the whole game very dicey and skewed.

Honestly, I spend too much time on all this activity when I should be doing other work. But then considering I love TV, I would love to give my feedback to stakeholders and tell them that you are doing the right thing by bringing in change. I would soon want all these channel wallahs to go for season culture so that cast and crew don't get burnt out. As it is Indians are known to overwork with no tendency to take breaks. So nothing wrong from breaking out of our traditional mindsets.

That was a long ramble.
But yes, I agree that people against action drama, should take rest until their romance track is back. They can wait for their time or atleast let others enjoy when what they like are being played.

Sounds,

Many thanks for the long review with your likes on Page 10. 😛
The whole forum is raving with positivity and cheering the PH and Crew for their efforts. That open cheer is not visible from our thread today. So thank you for bringing back the balance to the thread. Personally it was soothing to me.

Soundarya,
Thank you so much for highlighting the positives from today's episode. 👏
@bold: I completely agree. These were the best scenes for me from today's episode. Ballu shooting the stool, and Madhu in suspension, the scene gave me goosebumps. Loved how she tried to shoo away the men who were beating RK and eventually covered him. You summed up RKs expressions in the concluding scene perfectly. 👍🏼

Odd and unexpected but I really enjoyed the episode. As a matter of fact so did my kids who went about cheering RK everytime he delivered a punch.
A few days back I was ranting that they gave Ballu an easy death and I wanted my pound of flesh, I wanted him to suffer. However after seeing today's episode, I was appeased. Ballu raised hell ...Balraj style and it was time for him to exit the story...the fact that his chuhiya biwi killed him is cause for enough shame on his part given the mindset he has.
I agree that the sequence was not necessarily logical but then when I don't question the logic in "Ek Tha Tiger" or "Dabangg"or "Son of Sardar", why would I demand it of a tv show. I agree that the sequence had several bloopers and some parts seemed unnecessarily dragged but still it was a praiseworthy effort. The star of today's show were Ballu, RK , Madhu and Sikky.
There were some very subtle touches that I liked-
1)Rk provides an explanation on why he is able to pull off action sequence so well - he does his own stunts. Given the ego, agression and confidence RK sports, I never expected him to use his brain and use his car to fight or play possum when the goons started to leave. From a certain perspective he is an alpha male and someone has dared to threaten his family and his love, his agression and instinct has taken over-he needs to hit and beat something up. Made complete sense to me.
2)Lot of people have commented on the quality of dance -I actually found the unpolished chawani chap dance very realistic. Ballu did not invite professional dancers, he probably picked the girls from some shady dance bar so thier steps were perfectly in alignment with thier character.
3)The moments when Madhu was hanging by the noose were terrifying. Rk does not free her, she does it on her own though I wondered why she did not try that before probably she needed to see RK getting beat up to give her the necessary push. I also liked that when she gets down there is a sheen of tear in her eyes and she takes a minute to gather herself gagging and coughing - again very realistic . She actually rest her head on the pillar trying to breathe until she realizes that RK is still getting beaten up and jumps back into the fray.
4)Seeing Madhu with rope around her neck must have triggered some really bad memories in RK. He seemed to be on autopilot when beating Ballu up until Madhu brings him to his senses. I liked that Madhu's smile turned into apprehension and then fear as she clocked on RK and realized what he meant to do. I alos liked the fact that instead of shouting RK ruko...she actually holds his arm and caresses it almost as if trying to calm him down.
5)I liked the fact that as the time went on you see Padmini's changing avatar- she is shocked and scared in the beginning, then she proceeds to begging...and then demanding ...at the end she is practically threatening Ballu. Her rage begans to take over so much so that it gives her strength to pick up a gun and shoot her husband.
6)Almost everyone was in character- Bhatias are not aware of the backstory nor are they aware of chaudhary riches. All they know is that Madhu's dad was an evil man and Paddo ran away in order to protect her daughters. As expected Radha tries to buy Ballu with money at first, she closes her eyes scared when RK is hit. Kukuji too seemed a little taken aback and sad when he thought RK had died.Maybe he is not such a bad man, maybe he did marry Radha with good intentions but years of insults from RKand Radha's singleminded obsession with RK has made him what he is today. Sikki seemed concerned for his stepbrother and Madhu though he decided to dance to Gazar ne kiya hai ishara. Dips looked pleased and happy though a little aggravated until she saw RK charge in. I thought I saw hints of jealousy and concern when she saw Rk take a beating for Madhu. Rishbala's obsession, trust and pride in each other was very obvious today. Almost everyone seemed to be counting on RK including Trishna.
7)Balraj has been aware of this marraige for last 9 days,I am not surprised that he made arrangements for all the firepower along with the Rocket launcher. Also liked that RK got hit by it, I have always wondered how heroes seem to come out unscathed in face of such firepower in movies.
8) Bittuji does come with police so I guess RK did call him up before he dialed Madhu back.
9)RK's face when the gunshot sounds and he sees blood on Madhau's face. It felt like someone has closed his oxygen tank.
10) Loved Ballu's dialogues and they were delivered with righ amount of oomph.
11)The general mayhem during the beatings when Madhu covers RK's back.
There were few things I did not get
1)Where did the swing come from on the venue...I do not remember seeing it when the Maliks and Bhatias walked in. I guess Dammad and FIL are more alike than they would like to admit. One drags rocking chair of his father everywhere he goes, other travels with a swing set,his amma loved.😆
2)Why did we have female constable in the police party that arrives with Bittuji?
3)Still struggling to understand why Ballu was so cool about killing RK when he has been needing RK so far.
4)I had hoped Shamsher would break the column Dharam style but then that would probably be taking the bollywood style too far.
I can't wait to see
1) How this changes equations between the characters
2)How they find Roma
3)Future of Shamini marraige and Trishna.
4)Next major track in the storyline

He was needing RK to build his fortune that was dwindled from 300 cr to 3 cr when he had the knowledge that his wife and daughters are dead.

He did not need RK to build his fortune when he gets to know the reason of his dwindling fortune...that his vinaashbala is alive...he can just kill VB and end his bad luck. Who needs an RK now !

Its all a flawed mindset of Balraj. He need not think Madhu as reason for his destruction and likewise need not treat RK as his saviour (in financial terms). The man should have been capable of running business in his own capacity, but he had been failing in that even before MB was born. The serial begins with him and his mother lamenting that they have lost a property case and hence calling Guruji.
