The room feels really lonely with you.

I woke up on a bed without the pillow wall and no Biwi in sight. This had become the norm recently. Madhu would wake up in the wee hours, carefully remove the pillows and take her leave. She had been keeping herself so busy, I would never get a chance to see her if did not demand. She tried to make up for her absence with "coffee notes". Her little notes words of encouragement made my day so much better.
Good morning sunshine,
No coffee today :( You are sleep deprived. I know the whole Arushi scandal has been getting on your nerves. I think you need to refer her to Mr. Mathur, the psychiatrist. I mean how can this girl claim to be in love with a married man with such ease? Then again, this is an industry where people fall in and out of love at the drop of a hat. I trust you. There is nothing about bad publicity that a bunch of reporters cannot make worse. So, let PR do the damage control. I know the constant media attacks have been keeping you (and I) up. So, drink this saffron milk, it will put you right to sleep. If you need me, I will be in kitchen yawning and trying to look productive. My thoughts are too incoherent for me to continue any longer. Sleep tight.
Yours,
Madhu
Following our unwritten morning ritual; I yelled her name. She took a good two minutes longer than usual. She came in, dragging her feet across the floor, like a toddler on the first day of school. "Madhu", I spoke softly to avoid startling my half asleep wife.
"Haan, kya?", she responded with a visible lack of interest.
"Aa jaao". I lifted up the quilt resting on my legs.
"What?"
"I will not eat you alive. You need sleep too".
She tried reasoning her way of the situation. But, her thoughts did not translate into words. What came out was massive failure of an attempt to convince me.
"RK hum, kabhi. Tum, mein. Yeh, please..."
Seeing as I did not look impressed, she let out a loud sigh. She was too tired to argue any longer. She slipped into bed with me, without any barriers separating us. I used one hand to hold the saffron milk and the other to pull Madhu in for a gentle hug. She had already slipped into dreamland. I admired the beauty of my woman as she slept like a puppy in my embrace.
