My take for the day.
Again first 7 minutes of the episode can be deleted as it belongs to Dips drama and rest of the 13 minutes have been true to the story.
And today, I want to talk in favour of production house.
Diwali time, 8:00 PM time is quite busy, Back in Indian house-holds no one can actually turn on the TV and watch the sitcoms. It just gets difficult. I remember as a child and even as a grown up, praying in my heart that my show gets cancelled on Diwali or festive nights so that I can watch it on some other days. A concept we have in the west when during Christmas they cancel the shows and keep telecasting previously telecasted shows.
The producers cannot actually show good story in the days when audience would not be available to watch the show. So they are filling up with Dips drama from past two days (Monday and Tuesday). They are taking the rest of the story in the right direction albeit in a dragged mode between Madhu and Padmini.
So I will say good thinking from producers, but then I will say they are stupids. They could have designed the story in such a way that they also could have Diwali being celebrated on these days, with everything becoming filler and no one missing anything. Like for instance, see what they do in Balika Vadhu. You can miss and not miss and no one is angry about anything nor feel repelled by what they see. IMO, instead of shooting one whole Diwali celebration episode for SBB/SBS/E24/Indian Forums/TV9/Colors Interview etc etc for Media distribution since 2nd Nov in bits and pieces by the Production house, they could have fit the episode in betweem Diwali nights. All the PH needed was innovative thinking and saying non-story episodes to be telecasted on 12 and 13th Nov where cast and crew will celebrate Diwali. It would have been so much more fun, I guess, nowadays, no one thinks like olden times of 80s and 90s (Doordarshan days) or atleast learn from west. They prefer being brain dead.
Coming to the review of the episode: To me the 13 minutes after the 7 minutes count as today's drama
Ridiculous shot of the day - and I laughed aloud.
Trishna coming to Police station with her luggage case. I don't see anything wrong with that. Her dialogies logically tell us that she went to Chawl, got informed that Malik had been arrested and she comes to Police station right away. Couldn't she have dropped the luggage case at the chawl ? May be Padmini and Madhu locked the house. But then shouldn't Trishna be carrying with her a spare key ? All of the members of that house are working. But then again...may the director wanted to remind us that Trishna is just coming back from her outdoor shoot.
Lighter side of the day - Feeling Normal
Sikky and Dipali scenes at the Police station. In these scenes, both Dips and Sikky surfaced back to the story in their character. Liked how Sikky pulled Dips down about what she was getting so hyper about and loved how Dips pulled Sikky's assumed important role for himself at the police station. So we can safely ignore what they were doing at the chawl, as that was all OUT OF THEIR CHARACTER due to the need for junk to be shown in the show, that does not matter/impact the story in any manner for the Diwali night.
Shringaar Rasa - The BEST SCENE of the DAY
Bittuji - Malik Interaction - the explanation of Who beat Malik. Chief or Bittuji
This scene was much needed closure for Malik beaten by RK fallacy. I had always noted that RK was not the one who ordered Malik to be beaten. He did not even lay his hands on Malik. For him Malik "to be beaten" was never the part of his revenge plan. He repeatedly and very passionately tells Madhu, NOT ONCE BUT THREE TIMES that Malik get beaten up was unintentional and he was not responsible. We have seen this trait time and again that RK does not like to take blame for what he did not plan to be blamed for or for what he did not commit.
However, RK since he asked his men to take care of Malik, he assumed full responsibility of Malik bashing. He feels morally responsible of the whole act. And what''s more beautiful in RK's reaction is, he tries to be light about it in his phone call to Madhu, but after Madhu slapped him, he understands why Madhu slapped him. Then the bully side of attack goes away, and the remorse kicks in. Because per his plan, that should not have happened. And more than Madhu slapping, it is his belief that the girl slapped him for right reasons keeps hurting him. And that leads him to design a revenge proposal which also has some recovery plan for Malik. All that help, RK was not doing for Madhu. He was part correcting himself so that he has his piece of mind and time to focus on things that he wants to focus on. So RK speaks out in the hospital...from him fun/ridicule tone, he accepts before Madhu that his men did that and he is responsible albeit unintentionally. Then he passionately screams out while retaliating to Madhu that he cannot be blamed or judged over what happened to Malik.---in the bottle breaking spree..
So that was RK's story/explanation to Madhubala on "Malik thrashing". The audience heard that. But lot of it was not correct. And therefore today's Bittuji's coming out in the open gives an OFFICIAL CLOSING to THAT STORY for the VIEWERS.
Its a smart move from story writers to have that scene between the two men...Shamsher Malik and Bittuji. Two men...Short men have always higher ego. Bittuji is justified with that kind of vicious response to him being slapped by a taller, muscular man like Shamsher Singh. I really do not care whether writers thought about these psychological elements while writing the fight scene, but I like to see it that way, analyse it that way.
Bittuji remained true to his character today. He loves his Chief, so defends him. He respects his Chief's choice...his Biwi. So he maintains that respect. However he calls her his Bhabhiji. So he shows his hurt. Why did you lie to me that you came for pooja, when you had all this going...because ...because, isn't Bittuji privy to all the matters of his Chief including his feelings around his Biwi. So I liked that caring and admonishing demeanour from Bittuji towards Madhu. In the same token, he is there with her when she wants to go to police station. He cleared everything to Shamsher, he owed that much explanation to Shamsher because of his new found respect for Madhu as his Bhabhiji and his Chief's caring wife. Madhu's family is important to Chief and so it is important even for Bittuji.
And realistic scenes of the day : RK- Dipali & Trishna
Many have been angry at RK's lukewarm treatment of Dips. But I am with AA here. She is right that, RK just got up from heavy slumber. In that mood, the way he treated Dipali was perfectly reasonable. As always...the thinking man that he is, he twisted her hand and gets the facts out of her forcing her to reduce her drama. Also that scene when she starts to speak ill of Madhu, his look was enought to freeze her in her tracks. So what more we need there. Dipali is still scared of RK, but where she is being an arrogant fool is that SHE THINKS She is the one to know everything. SHE ASSUMES that RK does not know anything.
Seemed Bittuji returned to mansion at day break time and he and RK set out to plan the next steps required to contain the drama.
Trishna crying that loud for Malik and accusing Madhu again is quite realistic to me. As the second daughter, with nothing to do with all the crap unleashed by Madhu's fight for justice drama, she has every right to be defensive about her father in every unreasonable manner and accuse the source of pain...which is Madhu. We as viewers might love Madhu, but we cannot ignore that because of her, there has been this much drama. Even when RK tries to limit the drama, Madhu has to create it ...even if it stems out of her goodness and what not. The girl just needs to LEARN SENSE. Just having SENSIBILITY will not do her any good. She will keep on needing an RK to defend her.
