Turning towards the empty side of the bed beyond the wall of cushions he wishes her goodnight imagining her beside him...
Caressing the pillow and the non-existent cushion wall she reciprocates...
as if the distance between them did not exist.. as if he was next to her...
Rk wakes up to have a round with his 'ex -yet- wishing -to ...be- current ...girl friend Dipz. His choosing madhu's choice of breakfast for him was not just to spite Dipz ... it also shows the respect for his Biwi's wish and acceptance of her authority to decide and care for him.
He prefers the discomfort of using his wounded hand to taking Dipz's help...
The food brings in the memory of story-telling, Madhu's ingenious way of overcoming his protest... and he smiles.
At Mayka as if feeling her husband's thoughts she bites her own mouth and remembers RK and the studio scene.
Another night away from his biwi and he is missing her to such an extent that his wishful thinking gives flesh and blood to his imagination...
A flash of pain in his arm and the first word from his mouth is "Biwi"...he not just accepts her right to comfort him but demands it... her presence has become the best remedy to his pain.
She appears to him, tends to his needs,
chides him lovingly and retires to her side of the bed...
Since it was all a projection of his imagination one could safely say he has started to need her, though he may fight the feeling ...
He loves having her around, but will sure deny it...
Madhu on the other hand is trying her best to keep Tab of RK without trying to irritate him, by calling Bittuji instead...but at times that is not possible and she has to call her Patidev...
In the morning he is on attack mode, taunting her for missing him and causing him hiccups and orders her not to miss him...
She lets him droll on without response causing him to mock her for her silence.. .
She gets to the point and asks him about his medicine and
he almost let slip his dream of her coming back to him and cuts the call with an attitude before she could question his words...
She is confused and miffed by his attitude...
while he is relieved by the narrow escape..
The second phone call is more fun...
The need to enquire about medicine gives Madhu the perfect reason to call...
He is irritated that that is all she can talk about...and tries to provoke her by asking if he hasn't will she reach RK mansion to see to that...
Do you want me to/ she asks... hoping he will say yes.
RK remembers Bittuji's word the night before and says I miss You...and he meant it. There is a pause as if he wishes her to respond similarly...
she is surprised and elated by his sudden admission and is still wondering how to respond to that. She is just about to reply in kind
when angered by her silence he denies his words as her wishful thinking and says no one is missing her and cuts the call
She does not like that...but before she could give him an earful he not just cuts the call but switches it off too...
It seems like both are testing each other ... trying to find out if he/she is missed and needed by the other. It was really interesting to see that though both are missing the other, they are not yet ready to admit it...
Absence is to love as wind is to fire; it extinguishes the small and kindles the great.
