I too love Garba, watching it and going with the simple steps. Wish I was there as your neighbour there. Would have tagged along with you.

In my native culture, we celebrate the Navratri as Batukamma. Check this out from 0:51 second

sometimes people who are not faced with certain situations don a more idealistic approach to life...and sometimes when people have gone through darkness they put on a mask...so that shamsher the knight (philanthropist) actually died on that hospital bed...and this new shamsher was born...

Wow, that is one hell of a post! wanted to reply to this post for a while, but was running short of time.

Coming to your question... Who is Shamsher Malik? He could be a lot of things, a failed actor turned stunt man, a brother, a man who has earned immense respect from people who know him. However, for me He is the Best Father! I may be unfair to him by restricting his persona to only that of a father, but from where I see the role as a father is what is most important to him. Just like the way it is to every other father. And a father is the 1st hero for his child... very child has had 'My daddy strongest' moments. It is so important for a father to maintain that image for his child, to be able to protect and provide for his family is his basic duty. With the turn of events, he feels he has failed as a father. His redemption will be only when he saves his daughters from the clutches of the monster. He is justified in feeling so... the problem is the manner he set out to seek justice. While it is understandable that every person has a moment of weakness, it doesn't necessarily have to be excused. I will still wait to hear Malik out...somehow I am not convinced with him stooping so low to kill someone.

But I need to understand Shamsher Malik today, who was never important for me in the story until today when I saw Rishabh and Madhubala Kundra together were fighting against him, foiling his attempt to kill RK.

How I see it... Rishab and Madhu werent fighting Malik. They were fighting their own past. A past, that ruined many lives and relationships... the repercussions of which are felt even today. They may have found a companion/soul mate in eachother... but this relationship can't be built on the ruins of the past. The ruins have to be cleared and peace needs to be made with it before they consciously pledge their love and commitment to eachother. I guess that is why the 'separation track' is inevitable

Did it hit him hard when RK taunted, "Sasurji aapko to villain hona chaahiye tha filmon mein ?" .

When he stands in front of RK he is father and RK is no super star, he is just that man who ruined his children's happiness. I really don't think failed career has any implications on what he is doing to RK. He would have done the same if he was the super star... no one messes with his kids and gets away with it.

Does Shamsher understand the ignominy that Padmini and his daughters may have gone through in their life on account of his knight status ? .

Both Padmini and he knew where this was going. I don't think Padmini for a moment has second thoughts about the life she chose for herself and her children or has any regrets for involving Malik in their lives. Padmini asked him for his name for her children, he said that will come with his rights and responsibilities towards them, fair enough. And even today when this relationship is questioned, it is not only Padmini and his daughters who are questioned, he is too. And they deal with this as a family. They have never held Malik responsible for those uncomfortable questions, nor has Malik been heroic/dramatic in defending them in that regard. They have always maintained a dignified silence about it. The world has had a lot of undignified things to say... but the respect and the dignity of their relationship is for them to understand and they do and nothing else matters. That has always been the Malik family stand. There might not be a name to the relationship this family shares with eachother... but they are far more successful in being a family. On the other hand is RK's family, they have relationships well defined among themselves... but they are far from being a family.

Can Madhubala please build a bridge between the two to end the vendetta? .

As you said all this bottles down to what Madhu will do when the two most important people are pitted against eachother... and worse for her! This is always been the track that interested me from the beginning because both RK and Malik are strong characters, and a lot different from eachother. It would be interesting to watch how they reconcile their difference for the one woman who has given their lives a purpose from the moment she has stepped into their lives. While it will begin with Madhu having to do a balancing act, the two will come around ultimately. At this juncture if Madhu has to make her choice, it will be her father and rightfully so. I have a feeling it will be RK who makes the 1st move and a father will oblige.

Tanu,

😊 Yeah! I read your post on Shamsher ...The Epitome of Fatherhood.

Question...
>>>>Padmini asked him for his name for her children, he said that will come with his rights and responsibilities towards them, fair enough.

Seriously did Padmini actually ask Shamsher to do that ?

I have not seen the starting episodes. I only know that he saves them.

Because if Padmini actually asked him and if Shamsher did that, then a lot of my perspective on Padmini and Shamsher changes. A paradigm shift. Because, I always would like to posit our actions that also follow social conventions. Because that is what society, law and enforcement are there for...and when they do not function, it becomes a jungle. RK very much calls Mumbai as his jungle and him the sher...so can behave like the beast.

Padmini...if she asked Shamsher to give his name to her daughters...what was the woman thinking ? That the man there cannot have his own life ? Should he sacrifice his personal needs just because another woman needs his protection. Wasn't there a choice there for her to come out of her marriage and marry Shamsher ? Oh! another dimension there...The woman and the daughters do not exist per the story they gave away to Balraj...

If the man is so self-less in giving up his life and just becomes the father, then he is there definitely as another Hero there. Hero for his daughters. But how much of his daughters are seeking that protection of him...

Oh! I start getting confused on the trip to idyllic world...far away from the realistic...
