Why is Madhu/Mukund not liked? [DT Note: Pg 16]

Okay I recently started watching this show, and more than anything else, I like Madhu's character. I had absolutely no inkling of the storyline except of the fact that Madhu and Vivian's character were to end up together. But for some reason, I developed a soft corner for Madhu/Mukund the moment I saw them interact for the first time. They're two extremely simple and honest people whose world revolves around keeping their homes safe. I think basically why I like these two is because they're so real. It's every common man's love story. No drama, no high-voltage "romantic" saga, no endless misunderstandings, just a sweet little story woven around interaction.

I know that Madhu and RK will ultimately end up together, but what I want to know is why exactly are people so hostile towards Madhu/Mukund? I hardly post here and most probably won't ever be regular, but I feel like a sidelined fan already 😔 😆

I totally agree with your post...i have no reason to not like Mukund or like him for that matter, but i do find hating on him a bit extreme. But u do know the answer to your question don't u? Its because Mukund is your good guy-next-door whilst RK is the hero and badass to boot! No matter how many times women get hurt, they will still be attracted to the bad guy than the good guy! All that talk of girls looking for someone like their daddy has become old news (no offence to girls with daddies like RK!! 😆)

And on top of that...RK's got the looks, the bod, the dramatic entries, the expressions, the background music, the superstar tag...not to mention that he has already been touted as the male lead. What can the average female viewer do but drool?! D'you know when Hrithik Roshan became the craze in early 2000s, so many girls left their bfs coz they weren't macho enough or good-looking enough?!

But yea, its just silly, stupid human nature! Also I think its because most of us haven't a chance in hell of meeting a dark, brooding, dashing man like RK (sorry girls, there is an oversupply of Mukunds in real life...which honestly is something to be thankful about!)...so they fantastise and idolise a character like RK.

Wow...sorry for the essay...!! Just deciphering human nature but am sure u know all of this already 😛

hello there.. while i do visit this part of the forum daily, i too haven't posted more than a couple times i think..
anyway, sidelined I am sure you are not:).. Even I started watching this show wiith an open mind although my reasons were a bit on the off side;)..(I didn't expect much of Vivian Dsena honestly).. so..

But when Mukund made an entry, I could see why Madhu will be in a way, drawn towards him(the way they firs met, the bus scene, the pepper spray were quite sweet actually).. although, this liking she has for him,I would attribute more to compassion, now (his accident and the obvious lack of understanding from his family) .. and this is what made me start disliking Mukund for Madhu ..

its not a crime being an average guy, like Madhu says.. but Mukund's constant self-depreciation irks me. The way he blew up feeling all sorry for himself when Madhu's family and friends threw him out,,
I was willing to overlook that too, given the circumstances that he did leave the previous company even though they were pleased with his work just to take responsibility,.. yes, it was an honest effort..

but later on in the hospital, he cut a very sorry figure somehow.. acting out to get his parent's sympathy, lying dumb when Madhu and his parents do the arguing with the cop.. even , wanting to let the perpetrator walk and not lodge a complaint against him..

To put it straight, with every episode , Madhu comes out stronger and more determined, and his character is a bit too weak to match up to her.. so while its interesting to see Madhu getting drawn in into the battle , and into his family unknowingly, I am definitely not looking for a romantic kind of bonding between them, cause they are just not in the same league.

(PS: I dont hate Mukund as a character though.. in fact his addition to the mix makes the show interesting.)

I have my own reasons hating their combination
firstly I am sooo obsessed with my lovely RiMa that I can't tolerate anyone between them be it mukund or trishna...

secondly I want something soo reelistic n not realistic
.

realistic real mein bahut milte hai. .why we want to waste 1/2hr of a day seeing the same real life on TV??

thirdly..apart from above reasons other reasons r unknown even to me
LOL its just my POV no offence to anyone

Well one post has the question and one the answer... so nothing more to add there 😆 except saying that a superstar like RK can only be in a common girls dreams and fantasies but a guy like Mukund can only be a part of her reality...

Having said that what i find strange is that the hatred for Mukund is because the actor is not liked much... I mean i'm no fan of Manish... but i guess he is doing a good job ... so i find this totally not justified... (just my point of view though)

What confuses me the most is whether its the hatred for the actor or the character and thus cannot discuss more on it !!!!

Nice explanation and I do agree to you on a lot of points... Yes Mukund is weaker as compared to Madhu but i guess the reason to that is that Madhu realizes the suffering her mother went through, knows that her father wasn't a great man infact he was a person who did not wish her to be born and was also ready to go to an extent to kill her... and thus she wants to see justice... maybe thats why she is so stubborn when it comes to injustice...

Secondly, i guess having a week Mukund's character the way it has been carved out was the demand of the story... afterall we did not want some to directly clash with RK the superstar... rather someone was required who could easily get intimidated by RK's persona... Because i'm damn sure like very common man once the issue goes beyond control Mukund and his family would step down on the case despite of Madhu being stubborn about it...

Madhu and RK are destined to be together.. but i guess having Mukund in the story, for whom Madhu has a soft corner just spices up the story a bit... Thats how we could actually see the possessive side of RK... The junoon might just come out better then 😉
