So I m a bit the very late to this discussion, maafkan saya. But I've missed yalls.
I've read up on previous posts and there are some points that I want to reply to but most of yall have addressed them. So imma just adding my 2 rupees ka opinion here. Ps. I haven't gotten the time to watch the 14th may episode (Saturday's).
1) Karishma's character consistency in the last two episodes is amazing. This is the Karishma I love and adore. She has always believed in the result, standing up for what is right and standing by someone who needs help. She may not be the nicest person out there but she is kind and compassionate. She had absolutely no reason to do everything she did for tanu and Deepti and yet she helped both of them. That came from a place of benevolence. She can empathise with people and that's one of the things that I absolutely adore about her. And how can I forget Karishma's swag and bhuakal? They were a treat to watch.
2) Haseena coming into the station and straight-up accusing Karishma of screwing them over once again did not sit well with me. Dare I say, the audacity she displayed was even more vexing. At the end, she asks why didn't you say that earlier? Well here's an answer. because you didn't let Karishma give an explanation and kept interrupting her.
Have you forgotten all the stunts urmilla pulled? Yes? no problem. Have you forgotten how much Karishma has grown in the last 2ish years? Yes. No problem. Have you forgotten how Karishma handled the station, team and cases in your absence as well as presence? Yes. Then we have a serious problem here.
These are the things that make Karishma so insecure about herself and her capability as an officer. Nobody bothers to see/acknowledge/understand the fact that she has grown, become mature and learned to use her emotions as strengths rather than letting them become a liability. I can finally understand why she is so hellbent on proving her worth to haseena; because to date, she hasn't learned to trust Karishma to handle delicate situations, control her temper and act in favour of the station's reputation. She says she trusts her, she says that she is a good cop, she says that Karishma can handle situations, she says that she is proud but then does a complete backflip with such vacuous remarks. The instant shift in demeanour when Karishma said that she is used to this was one of irritation and displeasure. It should have been one of pride and admiration.
2) Pushpa Ji. not only have her rants/actions have become irritating, but she also needs to do some deep reflecting. How could she so easily roll her eyes at Karishma saying that she is used to that treatment? Just because you are blindsided doesn't mean you get to insult someone's else pain.
I mentioned this in an earlier post. Noor Jahan malik not understanding haseena's desire of staying dingle is understandable. She isn't part of the cases they handle. She doesn't know what goes on. So her insistence can be explained as a difference in perspective due to a generation gap. Pushpa ji on the other hand has been part of all those cases, actively worked to solve them and make a change in the way people think. To have her be this insistent and unsympathetic is not only out of character but also goes against what the people of this station stand for- taking your own decisions and living your life on your own terms without the fear of society. It is not practising what you preach.
3) Karishma's soft admission of getting used to being scolded/lectured/taunted was actually heartbreaking. Inspired by the book fiela's child, my literature teacher used to tell us that, just because we are used to something, it doesn't make it right. This was the literal manifestation of it.
4) I rave so much about my masumiyat but today, I wanna praise Karishma because this girl, this girl has grown so damn much. It saddens me to see the people around failing to realise and appreciate this.
5) the fan and phone call scene was funny, I'll admit that. Pushpa Ji didn't annoy me for the first time in a while. Karishma pulling cheetah's and my masumiyat's ear was so adorable; Such sibling vibes. the way everyone said Pushpa Ji's overacting was bad XD.
6) I found it pretty interesting that Pushpa Ji acknowledged haseena's harsh behaviour. towards her. I appreciate a self-aware person but then i wonder why she still says haseena can never be wrong.
on that note, I think this change in mannerisms is a part of haseena becoming more informal/vulnerable/real with/to them. This slapstick comedy is typical urmilla behaviour (taunting is not because haseena is a thana queen- i think i preferred her being that as opposed to what she is now). As we've discussed, urmilla is at the core, who haseena really is- a little carefree, full of life, free-spirited and liberated being. So all of these things in between feel like an extension of that. with that being said, I still think she doesn't understand what urmilla really was and hence she is behaving like a, as anee so eloquently put it, clown.
7) Billu the spy banna billu the fan guy XD. speaking of which, someone hand him an honourary officer badge/award already. This guy is such a valuable part of the station. he needs more appreciation along with badnam and iqbal.
8) My masumiyat looked so adorable in that disguise and horrible American? British? I am not sure what accent. but how the in hades name did deepti not recognize her? oh well, she was cutesome of you mentioned her being neglected. I believe it's just for the laughs. it ain't going to be mentioned/addressed in any significant way. on a character level, it could be a base/fuel for her insecurities. all in all, it's up to one's interpretation.
