Avni Patil assumed responsibilities for her single mother and three younger siblings at a very tender age and continues to be the sole bread-winner for the family. Avni brings home quite a hefty sum every month which helps run her household and fund her siblings' education. Though her mother is pressurizing her to get married, Avni is against the idea as she wants to continue supporting her family financially and ensure that her younger siblings are self-dependent before she can leave the maternal nest. But her single mother is under societal pressure to get her married, as Avni has now come of age. Compromising between her determination and her mother's concerns, Avni agrees to marry. The story reveals several trials and tribulations in Avni's life as she goes about finding a man, who understands her and lets her send her earnings to her mother. Does a daughter's tag really come with an expiry date?
