b'coz though raj and abhi were his best friends he loved his sister and trusted her the most. he knew that his sister will be the only person who will stand up for his truth and defend him some day in future. . u see naina is brash and immature but she has her brother's qualities - she stands up for truth and is courageous, brave and determined.
if raj and abhi has stood up for navin during the trial then naveen would have shared his secret with them
i dunno what the paper contains - it might contain info abt the red box - or a letter to naina and this might focus on the kind of relnship naina and naveen shared - and maybe raj, abhi and every one else will realise why naina defends her brother all the time. besides priyanka had herself told in of the articles that season2 will focus on naina-naveen relnship.
