naina sat near her bed crying her heart out. today was probably the worst day of her life. just 2 days back capt. rajveer had announced that he would be getting married 2 ritu in 2 days time. at first she was stunned and soon realised dat all the time her respect and fondness for capt. was actually love..... and today he was getting married....... she did not know what to do..... she felt as though her wirld has come to an end..........
...she could see and feel naveen sitting by her, he put her arm around her, and said,"Naina, mujhe nahin pata tha ki tu mere pagle dost se pyaar kar baithegi.....?"
Naina looked at him in shock.......he cant be for real....still, she blushed.....
"Aur mujhe yeh bhi pata nahin tha ki, tu pyaar karegi, aur phir 'kaash' keh kar baith jaayegi.....Sun, jeet-haar,paana-khona, uparwaale ke haath hota hai, magar ek sipahi tab tak ladta hai jab tak ummeed ki aakhri kiran zinda rehti hai!"
"Bhaiya, Sir bhi......"
Naveen smiled, "Raj bhi yahi kehta hai.....mere dialogues abhi tak churata hai.....nahi sudhrega......!!" and he laughed a hearty laugh.....
Confused, Naina looked up....but couldnt see anyone......
She knew what she had to do....she had to tell Raj that she loved him....since months......and she would do that! She will do all she can, and than leave the results to the almighty!
Naina got up....and rushed towards the faculty quaters......
she reached rajs door and was shivering from head to toe.... she knew she looked funny.. she was in her uniform pants and the choli of the dress she had been planning to wear but was too sad to put it on fully.... but more than that she was nervous... what if he turned her down.... what if he said he has never loved her and that his only love is ritu.... but putting all her fears behind her she finally knocked.... "come in" said raj in a sad and emotional voice.... she went in and saw raj wiping his tear stained face and quickly hiding away a photo which she thought looked familliar after catching a glimpse of it. "Aap..." he said " aap yahan kya kar rahi ho?" he said turning away " sir mujhe aapse kuch kehena hai.... aur shayad poochna bhi" " Ab nahi cadet singh" he replied " i dont have the time" "After all... aaj meri shaadi hai and i must get ready" "well sir.... physically to aap ready ho" she said looking at his gold sherwani which he was wearing " par kya mentally aap ready ho?" she asked. " cadet Singh! aap meri personal life mein dakhal naa de to hi theek hoga!" he said angrily "please aap yahan se jaaiye."
Naina: no sir. pehele aap ko mere sawal ka ek jawab dena hoga.
Raj: Apne sawalon ke jawab aap khud dhoondna sikhiye cadet singh. yeh hum dono ke liye behetar hoga
Naina: lekin is sawal ka jawab aap hi de sakte ho. plzzz sir.. ye mera aapse aakhri sawal hai.
Raj: (sighing) shoot
Naina: aapko meri kasam sir.... jhoot mat kehena.... kya aap mujhse pyaar karte hai?
Raj: (angrily) CADET SINGH! this is too much. Leave immediately
Naina: Jawab deejiye sir. aapko meri kasam, bhaiya ki kasam.... is desh ki kasam.
Raj: I.... i.....
Naina: look into my eyes and say that you dont love me... that you love dr.ritu..... kuch to kahiye....
Raj: Kyun jaan na chahti ho tum? kya tum apni aur meri zindigi ko peaceful nahi dekh sakti ho?
Naina: Mera ye jaanna bahut zaroori hai sir.... I have just realised that.... that..... pata nahi kaise.... kab se.... i dunno how......
Raj: (hopefully) kya.....
Naina: sir..... I.... I....
suddenly Dr.shalini barges in
Shalini: Capt i hope u r ready and.... Naina tum yahan kya kar rahi ho? by the way nice outfit" she said suppressing a laugh with some difficulty, but neither naina or raj were in a joking mood
Naina: Dr. can u plzzz give us 5 mins.... there is something really important that i need to say.
Shalini: well..... okay
she shut the door and went away
Naina: Sir aaj mai aapse keh kar hi rahoongi... that.... I LOVE YOU!
At first Raj didn't know what to say.But he becomes weak and says,"TUMNE KYUN ITNE DER KAR DI NAINA"and he hugs Naina and continues"MAIN BHI TUMSE PYAR KARTI HUN PAR MAIN DR.MISHRA KO DHOKA NEHI DE SAKTI".
And Raj feels very helpless.No one will accept Raj-Naina's relationship.Nor can he say no to Naina.Then Raj says"Shaid meri kismat mein hi khona likha hain.Pehle main meri Yaar-Naveen ko khoya aur ab mujhe meri pyar(Naina)ki qurbani dene parenge".
...."Hamare hisse ki saari qurbaani hum de chuke sir! Hadd hai! Ab nahin...."
"Tum nahin janti Naina...."
"Kya? Bhaiya bahot khus hain Sir....Aap mujhse pyaar karte ho! Mujhe ab kisiki parvaah nahin!"
"NAINA!", he looked down at her, and for the first time, she experienced her cheeks burining......she experienced love....She looked up at him, in a very different way....her eyes said it all.....
for the first time, Raj saw tender but true love in her eyes, respect being as ever! he couldnt resist and hugged her again....tears flowing from his eyes,"We have been idiots, idiots Naina!"
This was perhaps the funniest feeling 4 both of them ever...... love mixed with worry mixed with happiness mixed with sorrow. on one side was their life, their happiness and on the other side was the rules the society and the academy had put down. no one will ever accept their relationship and their careers would also be ruined. Raj had never been this helpless ever. Their long pasionate hug was broken by a knock on the door. It was followed by shalinis voice
Shalini: C'mon capt phero ka time ho raha hai. naina, dont you ant to get rady? Its you fav. teachers wedding after all.
Naina looked frightened.
Raj: You carry on Dr. i will join you in 10 mins.
Shalini: Okay capt but hurrry! Dr Ritu ko betaab mat rakho
Niana: Ab..... Ab kya hoga
naina's eyes asked a lot more than a question....but raj was a lot more than answer.....
.....within a fraction of a second, two strong thoughts passes his brain....one, get married...this will put a stop to all the conspericies....all th humiliation......but he thought he always took all the redicule because he thought it was one sided love....but now he has naina......no....he wont break her hear.....it was too precious.....he trust, her love, her faith was more precious than anything t him......
he decieded.....he will not betray her....he will not desert her.....
captain rajveer, paces the floor, thinking hard abt what to do.. his true love on one side, and on the other side, the thought of the reaction that everyone would have if he and naina got together.. "naveen, ab tu hi ho humare saath. kuch to bathao yaar..".. and suddenly, naveen's voice fills up his mind. "raj, mujhe tum par poora bharosa hai ki tum meri behen ko kush rakhoge, kyunki tumhare jaise aur koyi aadmi mere behen ko pyar nahi karega. naina trusts u fullheartedly, and i know very well that you wont let that sway in any manner." rajveer looks up. with tears in his eyes. not knowing what to do. he then walks toward the table, and took a photograph in his hand. naina, feeling numb within, walks toward captain, and places her hand on his shoulder. raj turns back, and shows her the photo. naina looks at the photo and looks questioningly at captain. "someone had taken this photo of us while we were dancing together in the ball. i got it thro post somehow. i dont know how and who took it, but it has been precious to me ever since i got it. i looked at it everyday, wondering if we;d ever be together that way. but a month back, when u came and told me that you dont love me at all, i was crushed. and avoided looking at the photo since i was afraid that i'd lose control of my life and feelings." naina bursts into tears and falls into his awaiting shoulders and says "sorry.. but i nevre realized it then. i have made a terrible mistake. somehow nothing ever happens according to how i wish it to be."
rajveer thinks and suddenly his eyebrows shoot up. he had thought of something. of going and calling off the wedding. before leaving the room, he tells naina, "trust me.. i'll never let you down, till my last breath..." just then, ritu enters.. she looks at naina, and then at rajveer. she goes to naina and asks her, "why are you here? why are you crying?" naina just stares at her, not knowing what to do. "dr. mishra, mujhe aapke sath kuch zaroori bath karna hai."
ritu- "doctor mishra??? raju(she started calling him raju !!), i mean captain, whats wrong????
raj - yes dr. mishra.. ri--
ritu cuts in - from your eyes, i can make out that something is bothering you. its just a few mins more.. but something is wrong.. its got somehting to do with cadet naina?
raj - yes..
ritu - u know captain, a girl knows when she looks into a man's eyes, which belong, not to her, but to someone else. and all the while, i've never seen you staring back into my eyes...
ritu starts having tears.
naina - no maam.. sir really respects your feelings maaam..
ritu - cadet, i dont want his respect. i want his love. i want his companionship. i want him...
she walks upto naina, and tells her..
"naina, all these days, and even now, i love him more than anythign else. but i know he doesnt love me back. am a psychiatrist. i can easily find out that he tried making himself believe that he loved me."
naina - then,, then why maam? then why did u force him into marriage and stuff knowing he doesnt love u back?"
ritu stares wondering why she did that..
she avoids looking into naina's eyes. and looks down. she turns to captain. and says, "i'm sorry captain. i shouldnt have kept asking you to consider my proposal. i was being selfish. i dont know how being a psychiatrist i failed to realize that i've been trying to impose myself upon you.": ritu bursts into tears.. dr shalini enters the room. she is stunned looking at all three people weeping. "arre arre.. ye kyah hai? bride, bridegroom, aur... aur... flower girl (naina) teeno ro rahe hain?? kya hua? cadet naina, i think you should leave captain and dr ritu in privacy for sometime."
capt - no no dr shalini. naina has to be here. and so are you.
ritu - this marriage is not going to happen...
dr shalini - what?? what do u mean? thisis not the time to joke u ppl.
capt - yes.. what dr mishra says is right..
dr shalini - but why captain? what happened?
ritu - i'll tell u. i'm not interested in it.
raj and naina are surprised hearing ritu saying this.
raj - dr mishra? what are u talking??
ritu - no capt.. i know what am doing. dr shalini, please tell everyone to disperse... please..
dr shalini leaves the room angrily...
raj - aap ye kya kiya?
ritu - no capt. what else will wee tell ppl? that u called it off becoz u love naina? do u think they'll respect u? do u think they'd appreciate u and give you blessings? no. thast why i called it off. (she thinks, probably becoz of all these things he may feel pity and start loving her.
raj - whatever.. its not the truth. if ppl take me out of the academy i dont care. i have a responsiblity now. i have naina...
Dr. Ritu- I wanna tell you everything. Why i did all this. everything. Capt I always knew dat you love naina.... always... i could see it in your eyes. but i loved you too and did not want to lose you in any way. that why i had started persuading you.. and trying to make naina feel that she loves Huda. I wanted you to feel guilty, feel as though i am the right choice. I was very happy when you were not on talking terms with niana. Then i was able to convince you for the wedding. And i thought that everything was going perfectly. Remember i told you that ,y guruji has told me to keep the marrige just 2 days later from the day you said yes? that was all crap... i did not want you to reconsider. i thought that after marrige you will forget naina and start loving me. but just 15 mins before the wedding i sent Dr. shalini to check on you and she came and told me that you were with naina and that you both were having a very serious conversation.... i knew something was wrong and came here. but after seeing how much both of you love each other ... i have had to give up. i have no option. i cant spend my life with a man whose body is with me but soul, heart and mind are with another woman. I will never forgive myself for this.... and it is natural that i will hate naina for all my life.... but i have no option. I cant stand a minuite more here capt. I am leaving.
Capt- Dr. please.....
Ritu- no capt. this will be best for me as well as for both of you. all the best with your future. I am going to be leaving soon to delhi to my home and from there i will be going abroad. i have had a lot of job offers from there. I am sure i will be happy there... or atleast will try to. and perhaps i will find someone there whom i will learn to love. We will never meet again.goodbye. and all the best.
she leaves the room and walks away in fast strides...
....silence falls as ritu leaves the room.....
both of them stand alone.....confused whethr to b happy or sad....whthr to rejoice their union or to cry over ritu's broken heart.....
....however, the feeling of joy yelled in vctory within a few minutes, and rajveer knew what had to be done....... he couldnt love naina within the academy.....the relation was neither accepted, nor allowed.... one of them had to leave.....that was the only option.....
he looked at naina....and said,"will u handle this all alone?" and she smiled back.....and he knew!
he darted in his golden sherwani to breg.chandog's office.....
breg.chandog dressed in formals, was pacing in his den. as captain entered, he shot a look at him, and said,"what has been going on, captain? was that a joke, and if it was, i cannot laugh at that! how can you exhibit a civilian behaviour....do you have a sense of commitment? i know, it was you who called of the wedding and not dr.mishra......"
"thats the reason, i am here, sir.....may i request some privacy?"
breg.chandog, looked at him. and the look on captain's face made him to accept his request.....
the doors were bolted and they sat on opposite ends of the table.
"so, captain, what do u have to say?"
"i resign, sir!"
"may i ask the cause?"
"i think you know sir. i have a reason which i will explain to u and wish it will always be between the two of us. agar yeh baat is kamre se bahar gayee, to kisiki zindagee barbaad ho sakti hai!"
"yes!"
"sir, you very well knew of my relation with naina singh. when i started loving her, i know not. but i remained silent for her sake. i knew our relation would ruin her. and for her, army is her brother, her pride, her life. but today we have realised that the feeling is mutual. and dr.mishra has been instrumental for making s realise the same...."
"hmm..."
"sir, as we wish to take our life ahead, one of us have to leave the academy. as i respect you and the rules of the academy, i wish to resign and...."
breg.chandog.....looked at him in wierd sort of manner....and got up....rajveer got up from his chair.....and as breg. came near him....his tension mounted....but suddenly, breg. hugged him......
"i respect your decision captain....i myself always called naveen a traitor, but my heart never beleved.....i am proud of you.....and must say, cadet singh is very lucky for you....."
"ji?"
"yes, i have an order for you....", and he hands raj an envelope....
"sire?"
"yes, as you can see.....i must call you, now....as Major Rajveer Singh Shekhavat! you must assume your position at delhi headquaters within next 48hrs..."
"Thanks, sir!"
and breg.chandog signed his leave certificate...as resignation was now out-of-question........
whatever happened after that can be told within a few lines....raj left for his new assignment as Major Rajveer, making naina more and more proud......and distance, and time makes the heart grow fonder.....and their love blossomed....naina got better and better everyday....huda soon came to terms with it, but that didnt stop him from flirting with his phoolan....aalekh was nothing but happy, and under naina's strict instructions, tried to give up alcohol....pooja and ali were the cutest couple...and rohit lost his love.....yudi was getting better at everything....even with simranmam:)....
it was the day, they all set of to their home, they had a month's break, befor he second session.....naina walked upto the bus-station....baught her tickets, now she was hungry, and walked upto a mart to buy something to eat....
....suddenly she felt herself pulled by someone behind a big tree...and felt herself bond in a hug.....for a second she was taken aback, not realising what was going on....but in the next second....she hugged back....to his major.....
Naian- kahan chale gaye the tum (no aap!)? pata hai kitna miss kiya hai tumhe?
Raj- Mujhse poocho ki tumse door rehekar maine kaise zindigi kataayee hai. couldnt live without you. Tumse milne ko kitna tadapta tha...
Naina- haan usliye to tum roz 1 ghante ke liye phone par baat karte the na ( giving him a playful punch) ?
Raj- Ouch! kaafi strong ho gayee ho. Aur kafi pretty bhi, aur kafi smart bhi, aur.....
Naina- bas bas. par tum yahan kaise? aal of a sudden?
Raj- tumse milne ka dil kiya isliye. Kyun chale jaaoon kya?
naina- dont be silly! (crushes her buss ticket) ab to mujhe doosri buss pakadni padhegi
Raj- woh sab to hum baadme dekh lenge. pehle ek doosre ke saath thoda time spend karte hai. Alright with you maam?
Naina- Perfect!
They go to a small cafe nearby and order coffee and somr sandwhiches. they talk about all that they have done without each other. And soon they start talking about their future.....
Raj- to ab 2 mahino ke baad tum cadet naina "Ah" singh nahin balke ek army officer ban jaaogi. All set to become best cadet?
Naina- ab to yeh impossible hai. padhai me dil kahan lagta hai. aur tum to lagane bhi nahin dete ho!
Raj- I know i am quite distracting. aakhir mere jaise perfect log zyaada to nahin dikhaaye dete hai na......
Naina (rolling her eyes)- Someones very confident today...
Raj- confident to rahoonga hi. tum jo mere saath ho
Naina- lekin ek baath ke bare main to hamne socha hi nahin hai.
Raj- kya
Naina- Maa- baaba
Raj- oh... you mean ki hamari shaadi ki baat? Dont worry. unhe patana to mere baaye haath ka khel hai. tum jaisi ladki ko patane ke baad to ab mt. everest bhi chadna easy lagta hai
Niana- mazaak band kaor. tum mere saath ghar chal rahe ho na?
raj- nahin. do din ke baad aaoonga. Tumhare parents ko tum jaisi volcano ke saath settle toh hojaane do!
Naina- Poora time tumhe mazaak hi sujhta reheta hai. Ab to hume meeting ki taiyaariyan bhi to karni padhegi.
raj- kaisi taiyaari
Naina- Tum maa-baaba se kya kahoge?
Raj: ab woh sab tum mujh par chood do..... tum yeh cheese sandwich khao!
naina:[smiling] think hai....
they paid the bill and were walking towards the bus stop....
naina: i will go gt the tik......
raj: main itna bura bhi nahin drive karta....
naina: huh?
raj: i will drive you home....
naina: dont bother....this bus drops me right opposite my place.
raj: and i will gt to spend some more time with u...
naina: izzat a request or an order, major?
raj: call me raj, and its a request, and call me major and its an order, cadet!
both of them laughed....and settled in his car and set off....towards nainital.
In the car Raj puts on a tape. A song of DDLJ plays out.
Raj hums the lyrics and soon naina joins in:
Raj: Tujhe Dekha Toh Yeh Jaana Sanam...
Naina: Pyaar hota hai deewana sanam....
Raj: Ab yahan se kahan jaaye sanam....
Naina: (resting her head on his shoulders) teri baahon mein mar jaaye hum!
many songs later they stop at a small dhaba and have chai. After spending some time there they start driving again and some time later they reach nainas house.
Raj- Oh no......
Naina- kya hua
Raj- tumhara ghar aa gaya! Ab tumhe jaana padhega
Naina- (laughs) lekin hum kal toh milenge na?
Raj- ofcourse. perhaps faster than you know
Niana- kya?
Raj- Nothing.....
Naina- are you alright?
Raj- yeah i am fine. hey look. your mom is looking at us through the window.
Naina- oh no.... accha chalti hoon. bye
she hastily gets out of the car and as soon as she reaches the door her father opens it
Naina- (hugging him) baba!
Baba- naina! finally you are back. lekin woh aadmi kaun tha jo tumhe yahan chod gaya?
Niana- woh....... actually woh.... um... meri academy mein padhta hai. he pffered to give me a lift.
Maa- naina meri bachi! (hhugging her) woh tumhara dost ths kya?
Niana- haan ma.... ab chalo na main kitni thak gayee hoo. aur bahut bhook bhi lagi hai. chalo na!
they eat dinner and naina tells them everything excep any thing about raj.... then after dinner they are sitting and -
Baba- woh naina.... hum ne kuch decide kiya hai
Naina- kya?
Maa- woh...... beta....
Naina- kaho na
Maa- beta hum ne tumhari shaadi pakki kar di hai
Naina looks stunned and the suddenly smiles
Niana- accha mazaak hai... u almost had me there
Baba- nahin naina..... hum mazaak nahin kar rahe hai. tum hi to keheti thi ki tum kisi se pyaar nahi karogi aur tum academy sirf apne mission se jaa rahi ho.... aur tum yeh bhi ti keheti thi ki hum jisse kahege tum usse shaadi kar logi
Naina- (turning pale) lekin iska yeh matlab to nahi ki aap meri shaadi fix kar do.....
Baba- but we thought that you will have no objection....
Naina- (angrily) but i do! how can you do this to me. aap ne mujhse poocha bhi nahi.
Maa- kya tum kisi aur se pyaar karti ho?
Naina- but thats not the point! Yeh meri zindagi ka sawaal hai. Oh God!!!!!!!!! HOW COULD YOU DO THIS! main yeh shaadi kabhi nahin karoongi
Baba- par tum usse ek baar toh mil lo....
Naina- kabhi nahin. main use Shaadi KABHI BHI NAHIN KAROONGI!
suddenly she hears a voice which almost makes her heart stop beating.
"Oh really naina, tum mujhse shaadi kabhi nahi karogi?"
Naina's face breaks into one of the widest grins ever, recognising the voices owner as....
naina- Raj.....
eyes full of tears, she looked up...and saw him standing there....at the door.....just as he stood when he had found her dance practicing in the deserted mess......
naina,"ma, baba....raj....yeh...aap sabko....", she saw her parents grinning at her....
raj,"nahin nahin....aapko to shaadi hi nahin karni.....mujhse to kabhi nahi....", naina raises her eyebrows....."naina aap abhi abhi yahi to keh rahi thi...naina singh alhu.....", he continues teasing her....
"raj...."
"ab beta, tum hi faisla kardo!"
"to kahiye, kya kaheti hai aap?", raj makes an innocent face,, eyes full of mischief!
now, naina understood the game.....,"maina jo keh diya so keh diya....mujhe shaadi nahin karni....aur isse? NO, baba, ek dhang ka dulha to dhoond sake the na aap....no,no no no no no....i am not gting married!", she said putting on an arrogant air!
Raj raises his eyebrows.....
"isko kahiye ma, ek baar iyeene main chehra dhekhle.....bandar bhi acche dikhte hin inse...."
ma,"arre bate, apni shaadi se bhaag aaya hai, tere liye...."
naina throws her shoulders back and starts walking towards the garden, out of the room....her papa follows her
baba,"naina, ladka itna bura bhi nahin hai....."
ma,"aur uparse tumhar bhaiyya ki choice hai!"
naina stopped, turned....looked at raj...and walked towards him....he kept on staring at her....unblinked.....she walked upto him and held his face with one hand and as though inspecting his face.....moved it on either sides and then.....made a face....
"hmmmm....thik hai....magar ab bhaiyya ki choice hai tohh.....", raj riases his eyebrows...."...karloongi isse shaadi...", she smiled.
"aaaaaahh....thanks naveeen....", he said, acting as if relieved from a tension.....
all of them had a hearty laugh that night.....naina was naver happier....and raj was never more satisfied....and naveen was never more proud!
The next few days were like heaven for Raj and Naina. They spent most part of the days together, and had a complete blast. they got closer and closer together and were soon inseperable. The responsiblity of marrige date was given to nainas parents and Raj and Naina were too busy enjoying to think about it. Finally 15 days later they had to be seperated bcoz naina had to go back to the academmy and raj to delhi. It was very difficult for both of them to part and finally after a lot of hugs and kisses naina soon reached the academy. The last term of KMA was hard for all bcoz of a lot of studying and work. and soon the exams were over and graduation day arrived. naina had passsed with flying colours but the award of best cadet went to the one who deserved it most- Aalekh! Raj and nainas parents were in the audience to encourage her and soon after the ceremony was over naina had to make an important announcement of which she and raj had only come to know of the day before. Naina took the mike and after some fumbling and a lot of encouraging smiles from raj she finallly did it
Niana- Good evening friends, faculty members and everyone in the aaudience. My tenure in KMA has probably been the most memorable part of my life till now. I have been able to prove my bro innocent and most of all i have found wat ppl keep searching for throughout their lives- true love. cutting a long story short, i would like to announce my engagement to Major Rajveer Singh Shekhawat on the 29th July- 2 days from now for which you are all invited.
It was they day, that raj and naina awaited over last many many months.....Naina, now an army officer was getting married to Major Rajveer singh shekhavat, soon to be Lieutenant Colonel Rajveer Singh Shekhavat.....it was a realtionship in which both of them progressed.....on personal and professional front.....it bought out the best of them.....
Naina sat in front of the mirror, and thought of a teacher of hers who she admired tell her,"Tum sirf ek soldier nain ek achhi soldier banogi...so tust yourself because I, trust cadet naina 'ah..' singh...", she didnt know if that was love, but even then blood rushed through her vains with redoubled speed when he said that.... naina smiled.....Pooja, now Mrs.Begh, was sitting next to her with her bridal dress....
"Oye Naina, tu yeh ghaghra pahenogi???", said Pooja, making a comical face. Naina drifted off in her memories....she met him, the fought, they conquered, they fell in love, they confessed, and now it was the time......she remembered how fussy was raj while buying the ghaghra for her.....he made her try dozens of them.....but din like them.....he wanted it to be perfect....
"Yeh tumhara kaam nahin hai Raj....leave it to me....'
"No! I am the one whoz gonna gt married to u....so I gt to decide...", he used his dumb logic. how she loved it when he came up with such dumb logical ideas, and coming from a man of his intellect, was tooo funny....

she couldnt resist to laugh thinking of it.....
"Bol na Naina, yeh tu pahanogi, to raj tujhe pahechanega?"
"Ab army uniform main to shaadiyaan nahin hoti...."
the friends talked, laughed, and Pooja and other girls readied naina........Pooja made her close her eyes and told her open them only when she was finished with her!
"Oye Naina, ab aankhein khol le", she heard a voice, and slowly opened them......
she stared at the mirror.....she never knew she was soo beautiful....or rather never paid an attention to her appearance....or Raj's eyes always made her feel the prettiest thing around so never bothered to look at herself properly.......
When her mother came in, she stared at her.....Naina? She couldnt believe it was her....her child.....her brave girl....who fought for her brother......for his pride, for his honour....stoof all alone amidst the thunder.....looked sooo different in her wedding attire.....
Naina stood looking at Naeen's picture....Raj and Naina never put a garland on Naveen's picture...they believed that he was alive...somewhere around them....he got them tog....he made them realise of their love.....first to raj and then to naina.......
"Chalo Bachhe, Panditji bula rahe hain....."
Naina queitly touched Naveen's picture, her eyes had tears, but this time full of love for him, and pride, of being a shaheed's sister....
An she walked away with her mother and Pooja on either side...As she ascended the stairs and walked towards the altar.....she saw varied expressions on people's faces.......ones she never saw before....
Aalekh looked happiest, and looked proud!
Huda's expression was unreadable, Naina's heart sank, but he was happy for his phoolan, for sure.....
Ali looked at her with eyes full of respect....
and Yudi, stared....with his mouth open.....never knew naina was soooo pretty.....
Naina's father had tears in his eyes.....
...and as Raj slowly looked up, she saw that her magnificient dress, her jewellery, her beauty was beyond what his eyes saw....he saw his love....and Naina's heart danced and told her that she was the most beautiful and special person of all.....
as she stood by the stairs, Aalekh came by, and took her hand and walked her to the altar, and placed her next to raj....today, Aalekh became more than a friend....she took the place of Naina's brother....
as she settled on her seat, she felt raj's hand holding hers, and heard a whisper, "Perfect!"
