Rajeev Khandelwal's at it again! The buzz is that he's on the verge of quitting Sab TV's show Left Right Left. Rajeev apparently isn't happy with the way the serial is heading and has conveyed his thoughts to the producers. "He was finding working in the show boring for it is confined to the four walls of the so-called academy. And since he is from an army background, he doesn't like the way the army is being portrayed," says a close friend of the actor.
Rajeev had quit Ekta Kapoor's Kahiin To Hoga (on Star Plus) three years ago, at a time when he was soaring high with his character Sujal. It seems history is repeating itself, considering Left Right Left is a popular show and so is his character Major Rajveer Shekhawat.
Ask Rajeev about his decision and he says, "I am contemplating opting out. Of course, discussions with the makers of the show and other concerned people are on. So, if we strike a way out, then I could continue."
Isn't he doing exactly what he did during Kahiin To Hoga? "I'm glad I haven't changed. I have managed to retain my beliefs. If I have a difficult road ahead, it will be my destiny. I need to be at peace with myself. One has to understand that I haven't asked for more money or signed up another show. I just want to be happy doing what I am doing. Unfortunately, not many people understand that."
But what has triggered off this disillusionment with Left Right Left? "When a show is doing well, we need to keep reinventing and changing levels to sustain viewers' interest. If viewers have been kind to us, we have to give them a cracker of a show."
