She looked radiant as always. this was her, he could hardly believe it. She was standing right in front of him.. the person who had practically abandoned her a year ago. Her eyes were shiining, but whether they were with happiness or tears, he couldn't tell. She took a confused step backwards and stuttered..

'Wh---what-tt are you doing here?'

'I'm back.'

'B-back f-from w-w-where?'

he smiled affectionately at her, ' From the war, sweetheart, I'm back.'

She flinched when he said sweetheart, and looked away.

'B- But ..'

he put a finger on her lips and quieted her down.

'Look, Naina, remember when we parted and I told you that I don't love you? I did. I really did love you. I knew that if I said that to you, I wouldn't be able to leave you. But when I lost hope, the only thing which kept me going was you, Naina, you. You were the one always encouraging me to go ahead. I really love you, Naina. I really do.'

'B-but'

'Yeah, I know .. I just imposed myself upon you. You have every right to be mad at me, but please Naina. Please, give us another chance. Remember all the candle light dancers? All the kisses we shared under the moon? All our boat rides? Our dream plans and choosing children's' names? We can have all that Naina. All that. Please try to forgive me.. and please try to give us another chance. That's all I ask, Naina, that's all.'

His last words were in whispers, as he brushed his hand on her cheek. Instinctively she closed her eyes, as she felt his touch on her neck. Slowly, his lips made their way upwards to meet hers and kissed her passionately. He was going to move away, when he felt her kissing back. Not being able to stop himself, he battled his lips against hers, and felt himself going deeper inside. Feeling his way inside her mouth, they battled with tongues. His hand slid back to her waist as she wrapped her tightly around his neck. It felt like heaven, a blissful world where no one existed but them.

But happiness was short lived. A crash from somewhere near made them break apart from each other.

Their ruffled clothes and swollen lips did nothing to improve the situation when they found the person least expected standing there, shocked and baffled.

Her fianc.
