'Naila has melted into a puddle of Tasha fangirl mess,' < the result of the absolutely fantastic ending to this gorgeous-yes gorgeous, that's the word I'm going to use, and unapologetically so, (if I may add)-chapter.

Daya you, my Lionheart, my Sherlock, The Joey to my Chandler (Yes I bagsie the Chan man) have floored me with this part. Heck no scratch that, you floored me with the entire concept and your flawless writing, but this chapter? This chapter was like cookie dough. Soft, gooey, mess of sweetness that melted me. And honestly, it was diabetes inducing sweet.

The way you dealt with Naku's fears, was spot on! I can only begin to imagine what she went through-and what she'll always fear. I mean psychologically she is scarred, and that's probably a light way of putting it. Her inability to sleep, her constant pain at just how low her father had swooped to the very nearly horrific Morey attack, honestly she is a brave lady through and through!

And that leads me to her number one support system: Mr Patil. I for one, am thoroughly elated at being able to refer to Dutta as Naku's support system. While we have seen small glimpses of that on the show-but more so in the glorious fanfic that this forum offers-it is not explored nearly as much as I'd like for it to be. It's always Naku comforting Dutta, supporting him as he nurses a broken heart, we rarely see the tables reversed. Of course that is not to say Dutta isn't her protector nor that he isn't there for her, oh gosh no, you don't need me to say that because we know he is. But what I loved about your work and characterisation I that here we can sense the pain Dutta feels at seeing Naku so scared. He consoles her and he does it often. At the hospital, their (wonderful) talk to even in the end when he literally 'protects' her-and each time he does it from the heart.

There is no patronisation. He understands her. Of course it's not something she can just get over-it's not exactly spilled milk. And he recognises that, he (albeit begrudgingly) accepts that. And that right there is patience-and ergo love. And that's why even though those three words aren't exactly uttered, Dutta says much more than what Naku wanted to hear-nay-needed to hear. In his worry, in his fear of losing her, in his honesty about not knowing what love is, in his clarification of what his life would be without her Dutta gives Naku the whole world. And to me that is far more romantic than those three famous words. There's a realism here that I don't think would have been conveyed if they jumped straight into there ILY's...but meh that's just my take, what does a singleton like me know lol.

Daya truly beautiful, you've done these two justice and much more. I've thoroughly enjoyed all the sparring, banter and arguments-so much so that I don't think I'm ready to say goodbye. I don't think I ever will be 'Naila again has left the building, as she prepares to cry her eyes out as this journey comes to an end!'
