Episode ~52

Dutta confronts Seema
The episode begins from the point when Dutta finishes off Govind with a final blow to his head by a iron rod. Once done, Dutta let's go off the rod and turns towards Seema. He swings his arms as he walks to her and she stands terrified on the spot. She turns to run but he grabs her by her chunni. He looks at her.. his eyes fixed on her face, his whole frame like hers, soaked by the rain. He yanks his head to one side and she begins to panic. Her cries do not affect him and one of his hands holds a gun pointing to the ground. Eventually he points it at her, and she begs, Dutta! Dutta! please spare me! forgive me! she falls to her knees and grabs his soaking wet jeans just above his knees, Dutta ! I'll do as you ask me! forgive me! I'll always be yours! She begs and he looks down at her coldly, and gives a mocking chuckle. She pleads begging him on her knees, forgive me! he smiles and moves up his head, his face full of cruel pleasure.. then suddenly he jerks his head, deaf to her cries! and roughly pushes her aside on the ground.. and looks down at her and growls, made a mistake in trusting you! and he feels his back pocket and pulls out a heap of paper money and waves it her and then throws it down on her face, here take it! money is what you wanted you! this is what you really are! and she sits and cries hysterically on the ground completely drenched.. and he mocks, you don't deserve to die at my hands! and you don't deserve that I should give up my life for you either!.. she pulls his knee and begs him, please forgive me, and he laughs, throws back his face and wipes it with his hand and looks down at her with scorn, this is what you really are! and he kicks her to the side and slowly walks to the front of the car, looks at it and then walks ahead of it leaving it behind him and then from a safe distance he cocks his gun and stretched his arm behind him and aims his gun without looking at the fuel tank and fires the gun .. and a loud explosion sounds! and a great ball of fire rises up behind him. Dutta Bhau's figure , gun in hand gradually moves away from the crackling blazing fire. The, slain figure of Govind on one side, and the crumpled figure of Seema lie on both sides of the bellowing flames.. Dutta walks away..

The Lakeside
FB ~The dark figure of Dutta stands at the top of the steps , drenched in rain he looks down at the turbulent waves of the waters..FB's of how she used to come and blind fold him.. come before him..those sweet moments when he put the silver chain around her neck, the waves crash against the edge of the platform , and he slowly takes another step down... like a robot, cold and without emotions, numb.. he continues to step down haunted by memorable moments with her...till he comes down to the platform and just stands there gun in hand soaking in the rain.. her unkind words of how he looked, his low status come to him and he reaches out for the ring in his pocket looks at it closely.. cries.. and then in rage throws it in the water.. his face twists in pain as he watches the ring box disappear in the turbulent waves... his legs give wave and Dutta sinks down on his knees a broken man..with empty hands..in agony he looks up at the dark pouring firmament.. a lone figure ,I had taken my revenge, he says to Naku ..with them or myself..the innocent Dutta , who could love, was shot by me.. but he didn't die.The fire in him never died. he covers his face by his palms, bends his head down and gives a loud wail...ahhh! that nearly chokes him...end of Dutta's story..

Lake- side present day
A kneeled Dutta , clad in a black pathiani raises his head up in ultimate calm. He speaks to his therapist, Naku.. that was the last time that Dutta cried. I forgot everything, love, affection, that girl..Naku stands behind him her face streaked with tears...work and money was my only aim, to help my sisters settle down.. Naku slowly walks towards him... while he carries on talking that's it! I destroyed everything. I killed Dutta, all the feelings were dead...all the tears dried up! Dutta's tale finished! and thus began Dutta Bhau's story. Dutta Bhau ! he says.
Naku wipes hers tears, moved by the sad recount of his troubled past. Dutta turns his head , a little and says to her, when Aye sahib mentioned Supriya to me, I tried to refuse , but she had tears in her eyes..so I couldn't refuse. Aye Sahib reckons that if I get married, it will change me back to the same Dutta that I was . She thinks that the old Dutta is still alive within me somewhere... so I thought , I should listen to Aye Sahib ..I thought of starting life afresh..but see what happened!, the more I try getting closer to Supriya, the more she pulls back! ...all this made me furious last night! and you were!.. I have seen a lot . He raises his finger and says emphatically, I can tell you Naku, I can read a woman's heart through her eyes.. so there is hope for Naku..as Dutta has seen it in her eyes... and he says resigned, and I have looked into Supriya's eyes ,there is no love for Dutta in them..he turns his face with tears in his eyes.. her eyes are full of fear for Dutta Bhau! fear! Fear! Abruptly , he gets up from his knees to his feet, faces her and she raises her hand to speak but he coldly orders, let's go!.. she lowers her hand and he turns around and decisively goes up the steps.. as she looks at his tall figure.. and then simply follows his action a step or two behind him.
As if nothing had happened he gets behind the wheel, and waits for her, till she sits beside him in the passenger seat. In silence he pulls his seat belt , and she too follows his action. In silence, with a firm face he drives, Naku overcome with tears looks at him side ways.. but she knew his talking was over.. now the only thing left for them to feel was the silence between themselves.. words were not necessary such a bond there was between them..

Patil Nivas
With brakes screeching .Dutta enters his drive and brings the car to a halt, and once again assumes the stiff persona of Dutta Bhau. With complete attitude he unfastens his seat belt and gets out of the car. And walks ahead.. Naku wants to say something , but with a left right swing to his arms he goes in and she lowers her eyes sadly, fixes her chunni and goes in too.
Naku enters the kitchen... Babi turns to look at her daughter and wonders.. where have you been? she asks firmly.Naku just stands and looks at her, Babi asks forcefully this time, hey! where did you go without informing me? Sethji told me that Bhau was very angry with you.Naku stares into space. Babi carries on ranting, he grabbed you by the hand and took you out! where were you? Babi pulls her arm and then says, will you tell me! or do you want me to slap you?.tell me! where did you go! shouts an irate Babi and Naku continues to give her a blank look. Finally Naku speaks, Saab took me. Babi glares at her, Saab took you I know that !but where did he take you?.. Naku looks confused, I don't know..Babi goes, huh! you went there and now you don't know! Naku replies, Aye what do I know about the village? He took me to a lake.. he wanted to talk to me.. Babi becomes suspicious, he wanted to talk to you! do you think I am crazy?. what did he want to talk to you about?[ have to say, I was chuckling throughout this conversation between Babi and Naku.. I mean Naku comes out with one ooohhh tale, he took me out to talk to me by the lake.. haaa hooo. Now any one in their right mind would say hellooo, do you think I was born yesterday! Naku answers and her expressions crack me up.. and in the end she says , I can't tell you what the baat was... haaa hooo.. Babi needs to get her rolling pin out!...ummm sorry for the digression..]
Aye , it's was a matter of the heart[ haaa hooo!] I cannot tell you.. Babi grinds her teeth, what has gotten in you? that man is getting married in two days !he couldn't discuss matters of the heart , with that girl? and he will talk about matters of the heart with you? ,she challenges Naku... Babi yells, even if he insisted why did you have to go!!do you have brains? I've repeatedly told you! not to get into their affairs! get over this madness , about love!. Babi screams in frustration. Naku walks away from her and says calmly, Aye it's nothing like the way you are making it out to be... Saab ,hasn't talked to anyone about this... now I understand what Saab really wants..and Naku goes to her mother and says, Aye ,I'll get Supriya Tai , married to Saab .. I will pray to Bappa! Bappa will answer my prayers. Babi looks at her daughter sadly. Naku , content with her decision, walks away from her mother to the kitchen door...and walks out, as Babi looks on at her daughter walking away.. head bent.. and Babi puts her pallu on her mouth , much aggrieved.

Dutta's bar
Wine goblets glisten on the surface of the bar... Dutta's reflection.. dressed in white kurta dances on the goblets. He selects one goblet and pours some red wine in it. His fingers close around the rim, and he stands holding it before the bar. Slowly he turns around holding the glass and looks at all his surroundings, and then slowly returns to the bar counter and sits on the high stool..his elbow rests on the surface and he looks down at his drink, musing silently. As soon as he is about to bring the goblet closer to his face.. he thinks..and she turns up as he brings the goblet closer to his lips... Saab ! he turns to her, inches away from his first gulp...and looks at her face, with one eyebrow raised.. puzzled.. she shakes her head..and he stares at her face.. the episode ends. Interesting discussion about Baji's involvement in the making of Dutta Bhau..
Well as Dutta pointed out to Sudarshan once, Baji ko sab khoon maaf hain.. Dutta has a problem revolving around the word TRUST.. all his life he trusted the wrong people.. Baji is one guy Dutta has always trusted with his life.. right from the time when they first met.. which has not been shown.. Dutta knew Baji would never harm him.. all the moments in life where Dutta suffers a trauma it's largely due to his own follies.. he forced Baji to introduce him to the underworld.. because Dutta had a defined purposes to settle his wager with Govind.. who to Dutta was a dirty old man.. and as far as sparing Seema is concerned... Dutta still had a bit of dignity left in him.. it was to low for him to smite a pathetic defenceless woman ..she was a low life and he told her so..
Dutta still has hope ..despite being a killer.. the innocent Dutta still lives in him.. Baji and Naku are two people who can see Dutta's innocence in his inner circle. In the wider circle of Patil Vadi.. people see his innocence in his benevolence..
Baji is the partner in crime, who Dutta listens to for he trusts him.. Baji knew Dutta 's temper from day one, when Dutta told him.. I want to make a fast buck! Baji knew, Dutta meant it.. Baji knew he will always be there like a support for Dutta and Dutta too knew that he could bank on Baji.. Baji in their criminal activities, amassing wealth and status, never tried to supersede Dutta, rather acted like a shield in dangerous times.. Duji reign supreme..best pair in LTL1.. roarrr... dhinchak!

Back with a bang really, what a fantastic episode n your writing makes it even more beautiful. Its like reading a novel written by hamlet53. It has your touch, your narrative, thoughts, etc.. gives it a fresh touch šDutta was head over heels in luv with seema with all the innocence. N Yeah mishal,s body language is so different, a boyish style n charm, his ear to ear grin, aww such a rare sight, the voice modulation humble quiet shy, everything a clear distinction between two duttas.. Brilliant! š hmm hammie stop lusting over his hands, nazar lagjayega lol... But have to admit his hands are lustworthy šHohohoo i dont believe he actually speaks about a football team with seema, too good. As ever an introvert when it comes to physical proximity with the opposite sex, ladki se bhi zyada sharmata hai lol..But poor fella his dreamgirl stabs him in the worst possible way. It was not as if seema was under some duress, she did it deliberately n her love for dutta was nothing but a farce which hurt him the most. He was taken for a ride., made to look like a fool, insulted, belittled There are instances when extremely emotional people tend to react in an extreme way.I think dutta couldnt or didnt open upto to anyone earlier as everyone in his family was in the knowhow of his failed liasion with seema n made little or no attempt to alleviate his pain. Naku tried n he found someone he could offload without bein judged. Naku was along with giving bhashans was a good listener which helped šThe next episode im sure is even more gripping, Thank you hammie.
