Episode~ 114

10th June 2010

Kala's bedroom

The episode continues from the point after Kala has been seen by the doctor and a much worried Dutta sits by her beside..and asks , why did you do it Tai ? if something had happened to you? and she weeps and replies, and what if something happened to you?.. tell me then?.. Dutta emotionally charged replies, I am paying for my sins! why do you come in between! Kala cries and questions, why do I come in between? because you have forgotten Dutta! but we haven't, that you are our life! if I give up my life for you.. my dying.. Dutta stops her, Tai! Kala complains, you have forgotten all of us! if my death can bring you back to your senses, I'll die happily.. don't do this.. don't do it ! she cries, because, avenging yourself against this Nakusha has become so important! that you have forgotten us... take a look at Aye Sahib! she can't stop crying! look at your other two sisters, Kishore .. due to Nakusha! you'll forget all these people ? can't you understand that we exist because of you! we survive due to you..for once Kala speaks the truth.. she folds her palms, please don't do this again! she looks at his lacerated arm that bleeds.. what is this Dutta? and she sits up! he pushs her back gently , Tai you lie down.. I am used to such wounds! you don't worry about me! she repeats angrily , Dutta you don't care about any of us! he looks at her with tearful eyes, don't say that..you all are my life..Kala seizes the opportunity as he had calms down , then promise! that after today you will not repeat this! Dutta lowers his eyes..all wait.. Kala suggests, you want to punish Nakusha? you leave her to me! I'll punish her! she has broken your heart, I'll give her such a punishment that she will be a living dead! Dutta listen and replies, you rest now, we'll talk tomorrow .. Aye Saab interrupts, wait Dutta, no not tomorrow! you'll have to decide today! how long are you going to flee !you give me a pledge! that you will never repeat this incident! He looks across at his mother, spaced out. Kala presses, Dutta if you don't swear by Aye Sahib I'll constantly interfere!..Dutta feels his brow and decides. Kala yells, today your hand got shot! who knows tomorrow it may be heart!.. all are deeply saddened and upset.Kala cries, either you swear by Aye Sahib now! or kill me!. After a thought he looks at Kala and agrees, ok Aye.. I promise. All breathe a sigh of relief.. although, throughout this conversation , Sudarshan, Leela and Roops are puzzled as to why Kala is so concerned about Dutta? and straight faced Dutta says to a satisfied Kala , you rest.. all smile.

Dutta 's den

In a temper Dutta flings open his doors and enters his room... has a FBs, his mother saying, you are angered by this girl! but why are you punishing yourself? your life is precious don't put a wager on it!.. furious, he goes and sits on his turquoise settee and forms his hand in a fist.. which he clenches and eases in rage. He recalls his words to Naku , once more my life is in your hands... shoot the gun! how she raises the gun and shots at the bottles..Naku if you miss! then the distance between the bottle and my heart will lessen! Naku saying, I can take maximum punishment but don't ask me to do this.. him yelling Nakusha! shoot the gun! Kala gets shot! Dutta twists his face in anger!.. Tai what have you done? he sees his mother crying for Kala being shot! Dutta twists his face in fury.. it's a pity he can't see that he is the reason for bringing tears in his mother's eyes..he is the reason why Kala gets shot! disturbed he stands up from the settee and says with venom. I hate you Nakusha! hate.. now one more crime has been added to your list.. I can't forget the tears in Aye Sahib's eyes! he controls himself as he recalls he has vowed to his mother that he wouldn't repeat this terrible incident.. that Tai would always take the brunt of his wrong doings.. his eyes still flash with anger as he looks in his mirror and spews , you are very lucky Nakusha! that Aye Sahib has bound me in a pledge .. but I swear upon myself! I will never forgive you!

Out house

Naku cradles the gun in her palms and looks at it in horror! FB, she recalls , this is your husband's order shoot the gun! and she shoots. She cries as her back supports itself against the wall itself, she weeps , protests, why Deva ! she brings her upturned palms forward and looks at them in revulsion... with these I have sinned! with these same hands I have worshiped you Bappa!..I have served Saab! what burden have you put on my hands? I used these hands to shoot at Saab! the very hands! she looks and sobs bitterly.. I used them to shoot the gun? and she turns around hysterically and slaps and beats her palms on the wall ..she slaps them roughly on the wall, till the skin of her palms breaks and pours with blood, making palm print on the wall! The more she recalls herself, firing the gun! the more hysterically she thumps her palms on the wall! Such a big sin I committed such a big sin! Tired and beaten! she drags her blood stained fingers down the wall and folds her knees and sits on the floor.Helpless she looks up and protests ,Deva how much more punishment will you give me? I don't hurt because of my sorrow but it's Saab sorrow that I cannot bear! his heart has turned to stone! that's why he asked me to shoot the gun! she is right.. she knows him more than he will ever know himself! she has an understanding of his inherent nature.. Naku cries Deva, why are you making me to do such a big sin? why Bappa ! why did you give me such a destiny? whom I love..I ends up giving him pain! she cries bitterly.. I am innocent! but he still has no faith in me! I have only seen hate for myself in his eyes! only pain! she looks up and implores, Deva! you have turned me in an actual Nakusha [unwanted]such a Nakusha, whom no one wants! NO ONE LOVES.. angrily, she looks at her palms and then in anger she continues to bash and beat them against the wall yet again!Babi enters and is shocked to see her daughter in such a state ..she stops her,Naku what are you doing? she looks at her battered palms and cries, blows on her wounds, and mops her daughter's palms with her pallu..Naku says , Aye look at my hands.. with these very hands I held on to your hand and learnt to walk...with these hands I worshipped Bappa with flowers! but now! I loathe these hands! oh my god! with these hands I! and she turns to beat her palms again. Babi screams and tells her to stop! and hugs her daughter, pacifying her, caressing and consoling her , enough my child.. she looks up and says, if god has turned against us what can humans do? Naku, your Aye must have done a huge sin, for you to be suffering so much pain , she confesses. Naku too cries bitterly and says no Aye! you haven't done anything , I am at fault! Aye you tell me.. has a woman suffered as I am suffering? My fate, whether good or bad who knows? today if he had been shoot then Aye?... she stares.. Babi says no Naku! Naku cries why is my fate like so? has there been some shortfall in my worship Aye ? why is Bappa punishing me Aye ..? she sobs. Because of me Tai got shot! because of me! me! she cries, and Babi gathers her daughter in her arms and calms her..

Kala's room

Kala pulls her blood stained bandaged arm, up and looks down at it with care.. and then stretches and raises her arm up , twirling her fingers...then she clenches her fingers into a fist ,as her two younger sisters watch her, perplexed. Leela, asks puzzled, Tai what have you done? Roops adds , yes today you escaped! Leela continues, Tai! Bhau has become insane! have you lost it also? what was the point of putting your life at risk? Kala keeps exercising her arm and hand and she looks at it. and addresses both her sisters, stop it you two! enough of fretting about me. and Roops get me my drink! Leela complains, Tai! here we are worrying about you and you are acting as if nothing's happened..Kala moves her shoulder and Roops asks, Tai you must be hurting a lot? Kala laughs, no I am having lots of fun! is it necessary to ask such stupid questions? Yesss it hurts, have been shot, so it will hurt.. but have you two ever thought? if this bullet would have caught Bhau ..how much pain there would be? Leela retorts , Tai since when have become so concerned about Bhau? that you were even ready to give your life for him? Kala smiles and stands up from her settee and faces her sisters with a mysterious smile... and states, I worry not about Bhau but for myself! the sisters are puzzled, and Kala asks , why what's happened?.. amazing! neither Aye Sahib understands , now two sisters don't understand me either! than who will understand Kalavati? What did you think that the bullet would really get me?.. Leela recalls, Dutta's order to Naku, this is your husband's order! fire the gun! and Naku points the gun towards Dutta ..and Kala smiles with a twinkle in her eyes as she looks at her sisters!.. episode ends Hamlet53 ~ 2.2 .14

When trauma strikes.. emotions run high.. manipulations can be carried out, knee jerk reactions and misguided decisions can be arrived at.

Kala however does realize, that having Dutta toy with his life can put a damper on their hedonistic life style. She therefore plays on Dutta's soft spot family related emotions and wrangles a promise out of him to take care of his indispensable life.

Kala's manipulation.. the truth is Kala doesn't want her brother to die as much as she loathes.. he's her golden gander!

But then..Dutta's show downs are not unheard off, however both the families his and Naku's are greatly shook up by the shooting incident.

Characters are highly strung in the episode.. you have Dutta, first persuaded to give into family pressure. Next he is inundated by the burden of fast moving past events .. it's natural for him to look for the most obvious and proven person to blame for ..for all the pitfalls in his life.. Naku . So as easy as pie he pins Kala's shooting down to Naku's fault too. It's like he finds excuses for himself to hate her and push her away. He plays the blame game and decides, he would never forgive Naku .What is he so frightened off?

Naku's hysteria is all too obvious.. and justified any one would be if subjected to such emotional torture ..its second nature for her to call upon her deity to and open up her heart , in the absence of her mother.. low self esteem begins to set in.. her spirit needs healing and retrieval ..

But for me another emotion I noted in this episode is the complete competitive spirit between both brother and sister... how they fight over whose to mete out Naku's punishment.. two dogs fighting over a bone!

when people go through rage.. they often cannot see reason.. dutta is in the process of still getting out his past gremlins.. out of his system.. he will see reason in the end..
..Now he decided he won't forgive Naku..😭..Poor naku...She has punished herself.😭.poor girlie..Yeah Naku was right.. Dutta's heart has turned to stone...Err Dutta he has given severe punishment to naku by his self punishment.....Naku slapped her hands against the wall.....terrible...Poor babi.😭..she stopped her daughter & tried to console Naku... yes twinks you did right.. the shots were very graphic.. especially where he smashes the bottle on his arm and pulls out the piece of glass and shows if off.
