Anna was a convingly strong enemy of Datta. His unique style made him stand out among all the villions showed in the show. Hiis character turned out good because it was played by very talented actor, Murali. His screen presence was just perfect.

Good post Aish😊

Contributions of Anna to other characters..

Aishh, needless to say that your post is very apt and convincing, and extremely well written, every single thought. What I particularly find commendable is the chronological order that you assign to your post as it makes it easier to see how this potentially negative character makes its contribution to the lives of the other characters in the story.

Anna is a primary villainous character and he shares the same amount of importance in his short appearance as that of the heroic protagonists Dutta and Nakusha. Of course the reason for this is that without Anna as a primary antagonist, conflict was lessened and the story would have no driving force. As a result, the plot would begin to stagnate and would be unable to move forward as the hero Dutta lacked strong motivation to pursue his ultimate goals... i.e of accepting Nakusha as his wife. Henceforth Anna with his villainy provided Dutta the obstacles and challenges which he would have to work through in order to prove his worth in his own eyes.

Anna then with his explosive conflict with Dutta, is responsible for the strong plot in the JJM1 and Dutta's ultimate protection of his wife.

He is a super villain who is particularly reserved to be partnered with Dutta the super hero. Yes Anna is full of his own super powers or superior abilities but only for a time, till both Nakusha and Dutta find out that love conquers. Have to say that due to Anna, who is the star of his own show... Dutta's character certainly takes a few twists for the better of course.

Yes we see Anna as a villain, but we also see very clearly through the Anna track the relationship between the villainous and the heroic counter parts, where the story tellers world seems believable.. Anna gives us what we want to believe in a start of a love story, with a flavour of things yet to come!

To Subu, he gives tremendous adoration, like that of a goddess. He flatters her femininity and youth when he discards his first wife and accepts her as his second wife. Anna elevates Subu further as he appoints her as his advisor, his sage, his piece of good omen before he embarks on any new ventures.

His ultimate act of immorality of further desiring another man's wife on the pretext of her beauty to the extent of marrying the vulnerable Nakusha. gives Subu a shock.. till she ultimately becomes his death... So Anna, makes her see the truth, that she deserves someone better than him. His matrimonial farce with Nakusha actually contributes to his death at the hands of the woman he loves..

Ashh, Anna the villain has preoccupation with young beautiful women. They fare as a weakness before him. With Dutta, it is a repulsion towards young beautiful women.. I wonder if Anna knows about this hang over that Dutta is plagued with..?.. [have I missed something.. joke of the day...] thank you for the pm and for a lovely jubbley post.. much love xx hammie..

Excellent and rather moving pictorial representation of the why of Anna's persona..

Aish! wonderful post

You know what's interesting...even on calling basis Dutta and Anna were on same level...Dutta known as BHAO to his people...a word that means brother ...but also used as a word for respect for superior personnel and ANNA means exactly same thing in telugu/tamil lol...mean older brother or a word used to respect those superior..within that age...that just suddenly crossed my mind...anyway..getting to the content

How true he was a cupid in their relationship ...unintentionally of course...but he doesn't need to know the positive outcomes of what he has done, right ;)

Anna was definitely a character that had much potential ...his character as the opponent to the lead was well portrayed by Murli...and I had wished he never died ...as he could've been a powerful villain...had he stayed...the right match for DSP ...I too personally liked him for his style...his dialogue delivery the modulations with words...he was great! definitely deserves to be acknowledged greatly for the role :)

thanks aish for a beautifully written piece :)

Aish, very colourful depiction of a colourful personality..
I personally liked Anna as his was a realistic portrayal of an underworld character. His south indian connection depucted through his attire n language, his black humour n mannerisms were taken straight from a real underworld don,s life whose name i cannot recollect now.
As daya pointed the word Anna meaning brother in tamil, telugu n kannada was equal to bhao in marati. A symbolic way of saying he was a perfect match for DSP. Instead we got to see kala being projected later as the main rival of DSP, which in many ways tied up dutta,s hands in dealing with his opponents especially mainly due to them being his own family. But none could match Anna,s stature, he was like Gabbar of Sholay😆
His arrival on the scene gave the audiences the drama n the excitement of underworld rivalry, the outdoor action n above all as everyone knows the luv story of DN blossomed during his time. It was the best time for LTL. Murali sharma did full justice to the role n just like Mishal, i would keenly observe his every nuance, his timing in dialogue delivery, accent..etc. his theatrical background greatly helped him in his performances. N gave us an unforgettable character.

finally the contribution of Anna to the show ! must say beautifully written post ...aish u always manage to live upto my expectations when it comes to putting down your views ...
24th June, when Dutta SriRam Patil accompanied by his whole clan was on a temple trip, least he knew that a bunch on yes-person are on their way looking forward to his successful annihilation as prescribed by their boss Anna, ending up creating a circumstance affluent enough to make an outraged don audit his thoughts about his wife...it showed us the first tasha hug though didnt appreciate dutta's act of risking nakku's life to save his family's ..but still to see dutta in action is always eye candy
July 7 2010, Realizing that Don DSP is an eternal gadha, Anna, had to jolt him with a greater intensity, resulting in a fatal car chase ending up the love birds into Jungle to carry on their eco friendly romance!..loved the scene where nakku gives him a piece of her mind and refuses to step down the car ...poor dutta's expressions were worth watching
Though yet another too came when he sent DSP a CD of his kidnapped wife, but IMO that wasn't necessary, sooner or later anyways he was going to save her (Those who disagree your differences are most welcome.)...personally i didnt appreciate dutta's action of waiting and reacting till the CD came , he should have gone to save nakku in anycase ..i have raised this issue in my post as well
Imagine, the extent of damage Dutta could provide to naku and himself, if hadn't Anna been there to deviate his attention and energy .. agree with u,at that point of time dutta's anger needed proper direction and anna showed me that path by jumping in the story at the right
time

As ani said, he was a villain worthy to the protagonist of the show. Such was the impact of his on the show, that every anti hero introduced after him was expected to be somewhat similar to him. He became a cult in the world of Laagi Tujhse Lagan. If DSP was Ram, he played perfect Raavan!

I must acknowledge the actor Murli Sharma, for the perfect portrayal of Anna, he was brilliant in the portrayal of a psychopath! A graduate from Roshan Taneja's school of acting, the actor has a theatre background, no wonder he did wonders!...word aish ..the actor/ character were totally at par with mishal/dutta ..the creatives did a fab job by writing such a powerful character and then casting an actor like murli who did complete justice to the role

and my fav pic is this one ...my heart still warms up on remembering this beautiful tasha hug

well his charecter was so brillantly wriiten..well said.his apprearance was storng n accerrative...he stoled limelight in all the scene...all creadit goes to actor murli sharma for living that charecter..I absolutely agree.anna was a total pakage he was funny ..humourus..evil..sometimes intellgent too lol.you bet..lol.well as you mentioned murli was graduate from taneja acting school...and yes he done theater too but do you know that mishal already work with murli before..nope, I had no idea about it, tell me the details asap when he was also doing theater..no doubt this is reason for there marvolus chemistry thank you for the comments

Well done Anna! 😉 I can just hear that angry roar in my ears even now... Annaaa!

Though yet another too came when he sent DSP a CD of his kidnapped wife, but IMO that wasn't necessary, sooner or later anyways he was going to save her (Those who disagree your differences are most welcome.)

I think he was trying to hurt/humiliate/anger Dutta with the CD. I don't think Anna did that just to show Dutta that he needed to come for Naku. And I must say, as heinous as that was, Anna was also hilarious with that recording. 😆

Looking at a larger context we will realize that Anna had a lot to influence the story, he breathed fresh air into the story which was showing a tendency to take a stagnant turn (stretched sups track, and torture track post marriage).

Anna was a sigh of relief now that I think of it. He really ignited the show and kept it awake.

Anna was a leech, a creep, a crook who took even less than a sec to abandon his wife just at mere sight of beauty more eye pleasing and youthful...

Yes, yes...he was all of that and more. And I am ashamed to admit I enjoyed watching a role such as that 😳 (except for his gross attention toward Naku ). I really do think the role was fun to watch overall. He was sort of exciting.

Tying a girl with a scare crow, or forcefully applying soot on her may sound or appear funny, but it's traumatizing.
Exactly. Even in tv shows this wouldn't be funny, but I think LTL pulled it off without it being unbearable because Naku always had her face covered in kajal anyway and she remained unabashed during the scarecrow incident. She was taunting him despite being in his hold.

As ani said, he was a villain worthy to the protagonist of the show.

I say, well said Ani! 👍🏼

I must acknowledge the actor Murli Sharma, for the perfect portrayal of Anna, he was brilliant in the portrayal of a psychopath! A graduate from Roshan Taneja's school of acting, the actor has a theatre background, no wonder he did wonders!

Yes! He did an awesome job as Anna. His Anna was believable as a don while still being humorous.
