btw jagz... i noticed a blooper... in chapter 17 wer naku writes a note 4 dutta saying maafi saab...hw is tht possible considering naku is anpar...cos she sed so in update earlier on wer dutta sees her lukin at sum papers n tells her nt 2 reveal 2 ne1 abt its contents n naku smiles n says she's an anpar so cudnt read/understand the contents...

^Yuvi!!! hello there! i was just replying bk to all your comments and i was just about to post them when i came across this, very well spotted i think it might just have been a blooper but initially i intended to add a line in there that says Dutta recognized it to be somebody elses hand writing yet..i.e madhu..or whoever but the words were clearly Nakushas. I guess i missed it out but are you reading through it again? yaar theirs going to be about a million errors..u'll have a list at the end of it.😆

hello there I think with dutta it has always been the case that he really loves the ones close to him but he does carry that role of dutta shri ram patil, he is by nature very firm so maybe sometimes his loved ones forget that there is a softer more loving dutta under there. Just a fear of hurting him I guess.

As for holi, thought I would throw in some colours..and I enjoyed writing that potion of the ff too. Anyways thank you very much for reading. Will be back soon.

okay in defense of naku rani and her addiction to the buttons of duttas kurta, to be fair he does mess them up so somebody has to help him. of course a little bit of flirting with the husband is not against the rules either.

As for dutta, aw I though you would have worked him out, he wasn't talking about the ladoos lacking sugar..uska ishaara toe kahin aur hein tha. Glad you liked the romantic element I guess you could call it.

Moving on to holi. Nope there is no reason why dutta does not like holi he just prefers to be more civilized then clown around with colors I guess. He deems it improper, just not to his taste.

I too quite like sethji .hes really quite cute isn't he I think dutta should adopt him and keep him forever but I don't think sethji would be too pleased.

Aw what can I say..great minds think alike, for me..i had to play this moment in a way which shows nakushas devotion/ respect towards dutta and mainly because she knows that dutta does like being face-painted. Waise bhi it's a custom with most Indian traditions of holi that you do not color those who are older than u in some shape or form..and so placing it at there feet is a mark of respect.

Although dutta did let nakusha…do her share of face-painting but I never thought about baaji..he would have had a right strop! As for madu..well like brother like sister kuch toe asar hoga naa.

Moving on to the next chapter what can I say I couldn't help but put does habit of whispering into her ear in this one too..addat se majboor sorry. You know what I would love to go as well and sending nakusha with him would kind of defeat the purpose. Plus duttas business as we all know is not the regular paperwork type of stuff. And yes they got married kind of wanted to take a bit of a drastic move this time around and so they are married. There is no real reason for madhu being so rash she was about to leave for London anyway and with dutta also leaving she just felt like nothing was ever going to happen. Just frustration I guess. Challo leave it there ..look forward to some more interesting chats. Thank you!

Chapter 21

A week later and dutta due to return any moment now nakusha repeatedly eying the entrance of the house while conducting her morning puja couldn't help being distracted. Finally hearing the engine of a car stopping to a halt outside the house, nakusha instantly turns her eyes to the entrance..seeing dutta walk into the house. Dressed a deep blue suit and white shirt his appearance as ever perfected. , Guards following him into the house an expressive smile forms on nakushas lips as her eyes watch him step into the house.
The likes of aayi sahib, kishore and roops greeting him nakusha watches from a distance as his eyes trail around the house and stop at her. The family noticing dutta look at somebody in particular turn to see nakusha stood at a distance and smile.
As dutta watches nakusha walking towards him his eyes fixed on her face he watches her stop infront of him, her eyes carrying a few cupped tears dutta shakes his head gently in a smile.
"Ab toe mein aaagaya hoon naku..ab kyun roh rahin hai?"
Nakusha looking up into duttas eyes for a second smiles..as dutta holds his arms out for her. Falling into his chest..nakusha feels dutta wrap his arms around her.
Parting from her gently dutta cups her face into his hands and smiles. His eyes searching the house he looks back towards nakusha.
"Baaji aur madhu kaha hai. ..aur woh baaji mujhe lene kyun nahin aayay?"
The family surrounding them look at each other nervously but before nakusha could say anything duttas eyes happen to fall upon baaji and madhu who stand at a distance beside each other. Dutta's eyes fixated on them both a tense silence falls into the room each and every member of the family anxious of what was to come. As dutta goes onto watching baaji and madhu with a blank stare the atmosphere in the room tense dutta slowly walks towards both of them. His footsteps the only thing sounding in the room. Dutta's eyes looking over madhus apperance dressed in a churidar suit of red and yellow dutta having noticed the magalsutra around her neck and sidhoor at her forehead defers from looking at the two elements and instead just stares into her expression. His eyes bold, and questioning, impatience and confusion both growing within them gradually.
"Kya hai yey??" Duttas words breaking pin drop silence in the room he watches as Madu scatters her eyes on the floor and Baaji who is stood next to similarly keeps his expression lowered. Loosing patience with that silence in the room and the situation before him Duttas tone begins to build that little more.
"Mein KUCH pooch raha hoon tumse Madhu!!!" Madhu a startled by Duttas loudness is unable to meet his eyes. Dutta frustrated by that silence turns around to the the rest of the family looking for answers "Koi baatyeyga bhi HO KYA RAHA HAI YAHA??!!" as dutta moves his eyes from each Individual he sees every person nervously looking away, unprepared to explain. Duttas eyes trail to aayisahib who has her eyes closed for a moment. Duttas eyes upon aayi sahibs face hoping she would answer his questions before anything can be said baajis voice from behind dutta is sounded. His tone of voice shaky and unsure swallowing a nervous lump in his throat baaji puts his words forward. The rest of the family holding there breath as they hear baaji.
" meine aur madhu ne shaadhi kar li bhau..ham dono aapko bolna chahte the magar.."" Having heard those words from baaji Dutta fuming turns around in a stride his eyes carrying a furious shade of red he storms closer to baaji and grabs his collar. Shouting his words in an ear slitting tone making each and every family member react with startle. Holding baajis collar tightly duttas face creased in immense anger he grits his teeth as he asks baaji to repeat him self. "AYE
BAAJI!!!!! PHIR SE BOL …KYA BOLA!!"
baaji swallowing the lumps in his throat was well aware of what was ahead of him yet without backing down he repeats himself prepared for the consequences
"Meine aur madhu ne shadhi..kar .." Just as dutta is about to strike a blow on baajis face aayi sahib intervenes.

"RUKH JA DUTTA!…Kabhar dar joe tune use haat lagayay baaji ab sirf tera dost hein nahin teri behen ka pati bhi hai dutta! duttas eyes still fixed firmly on baaji his anger still prominent, he pauses to listen to aayi sahib.Yey sahin keh raha hai. Madhu aur baaji ab pati patni hai , woh ek dusre se pyaar karte hai aur hamne arshiwad diya hai in dono ko Dutta!."

Dutta letting go of Baaji's collar looks towards Aayi sahib for a moment his eyes filled with a mix of disbelieve and upset and again. He searches his mothers expression for answers. Knowing that aayi sahib was one person that would never lie to him, dutta feels a heavy surge of emotion as the circumstances sunk in. Turning back to Madhu and Baaji dutta looks over them standing side by side unable to look at him. Closing his eyes for a moment and reopening them he turns to glance at the family. Nakusha noticing that upset in his eyes her heart skins seeing him secluded in this way. With nothing more to say dutta leaves walking out up to his room.
...

Later in the evening Dutta not having left their bedroom since the morning nor come downstairs for afternoon lunch Nakusha walks towards the bedroom with Duttas afternoon tea. Walking to see Dutta sitting in one corner of the sofa, still dressed in that loosely formal blue shirt his head rested back, eyes closed arms rested by the side. Nakusha could feel an uneasy vibe as she walked into the room. Looking over Dutta and seeing him this way an element of concern begins to form on Nakushas face. Putting down the cup on the tea table in front of him Nakusha knew that her presence wasn't unnoticed by him. Instead of sounding her presence and the fact that she had bought his tea Nakusha was aware that dutta had sensed both things and decided to give him the space he needed. Just as Nakusha turns to leave the room she hears a very sorrowful voice from dutta that stops her. "Kya kami thi mere pyaar mein naku joe woh muje bata nahin sake..?" as nakusha turns back she sees Dutta looking her way his eyes carrying a cupped tear, nakusha for the very first time saw a very vulnerable element in those eyes of his. Walking back towards t the sofa nakusha takes a seat beside Dutta.

"Shayad mein hein ek bhai, ek dost hone ka pharse nahin nibha payaayay muje pehle se hein samaj jaana chahiyey tha ke un dono ke beech..."
Dutta had constantly thinking about all those times baaji spoke about this particular girl he was in love with yet he was never able say much. Was being Dutta bhau the thing that was getting in the way of there friendship? Even madhu his only blood relative his younger sister he could have at least picked up on her feeling but he had failed too.
Nakusha sensing duttas guilt, his upset picks up duttas hand that was rested loosely on the sofa and takes It within hers. Getting his attention, his eyes fixated on her he listens to what she has to say knowing that her words were always going to be an attempt to sooth his upset . "Aap aisa mat socho saab.." nakusha sees a loss of strength in dutta as he turns to her.."Toe kya sochu mein naku? Tu bol muje kya sochu..??" Dutta shaking his head expressively those eyes of his heavy the upset visible in them.
"Woh mere paas aa sakte the, muje bol sakte the..mein koi dushman nahin unka naku. Taklif hue naku…bohot taklif hue yey jaankar ke mere apne mujhe apna nahin samajte naku."
Nakusha feeling duttas upset her eyes begging to feel moist she happens to catch Madhu and Baaji who stand at the entrance of the room having overheard the conversation the two of them also in tears as ever dutta was sharp in his senses and already knew of their presence. Without turning to them dutta refuses to listen to anything they have to say and asks them to leave.
"Bol de ine nakusha ke woh yaha se chale jayey," Nakusha, baaji and madhu all surprised feel duttas strane in his words as he instructs them to leave. "koi baat nahin kar nahin hai muje unse.!" Nakusha passing a reassuring glance towards baaji and madhu telling them now wasn't the right time.
….

Later on in the evening, dutta dressed in his white attire walks alongside nakusha down the stairs to the dinner table. All eyes on dutta as this was the first time he had confronted the family after this morning. Madu serving food at the table stops to look at dutta whose eyes lock with hers for a second. duttas eyes filled with warmth yet still an upset to those eyes of his madhu avoids looking towards him and goes on with her task.
As dutta sits down at his place at the table and nakusha sits next to him. The family begin to eat once nakusha serves food into duttas plate however dutta notices that madu has not sat down at the table. Dutta eyeing nakusha stubbly who glances around to notice Madhu leaving the table stops her.
"Madhu tu nahin khayeygi..?"
Dutta watching for he was the one who was asking the question through naku notices madhu hesitate a little as he replies. "Nahin bhabi woh baaji abhi tak vapas nahin aayey toe mein unka intaasar karungi."
Nakusha glancing towards dutta sees dutta turn to eat his food but there was no one better that understood him then her. It mattered to him for no matter how dismayed he was with them he wouldn't stop caring.
…
A little later after dinner as nakusha walks back into there bedroom she walks into dutta and the phone. His back to her it seemed like he was talking to Baaji.
"Kaha hai tu baaji!? ABHI KE ABHI GHAR AA!"As dutta puts the phone down a little irritated he sees nakusha watching him as he happens to turn in her direction. Keeping silent nakusha passes a smile at dutta knowing that even after everything that had happened dutta couldn't help but be himself. Madhu not having ate concerned him enough to pick up the phone and all Baaji back.
…
An hour or so later into the night Nakusha stirs in her sleep for a moment, moving her hand over Duttas side of the bed, finding it empty she opens her eyes. Sitting up in bed she flicks the light on at the bedside tables and looks around in search of Dutta. "saab? " Walking out into the porch nakusha sees dutta standing at the balcony with his back to her..walking quietly beside him nakusha looks down at what dutta seemed to be looking at and sees baaji and madhu. Baaji and madhu sat at the dining table, smiles on there faces, feeding one and other nakusha draws her eyes from them to dutta beside her and sees Dutta with a faint smile on his lips.
Nakushas eyes filling up with a certain ease it was nice to see dutta let go of his distress and be at peace once in awhile. Nakusha and dutta both watch as madhu and baaji finish eating getting up from the dinner table baaji hugs madu the once and then both of them walk in opposite directions to there respective rooms. Seeing both of them part this way even dutta feels a surge of uneasiness and sighs slightly. Nakusha drawing her hand up to dutta forehand nakusha…rests her face on his shoulder. Dutta only now becoming aware of nakushas presence turns to look upon his shoulder at nakusha.
"Maaf kardiyey naa une saab.. agar aap maaf nahin karege toe woh donno.." before nakusha could go on dutta intervenes. Speaking in a heavy sigh duttas eyes are full with a warmth telling her that he was more than aware of what she was trying to say. "Jaanta hoon nakkuusha…"
Nakusha looks up towards dutta who thinks for a moment looking into oblivion could see a very soft side to dutta under that hard exterior of his. Dutta putting his arm around nakusha pulls her closer into his arms and wraps his arm around her back.
….

Next morning, baaji dressed in his royal blue kurta and denims, madhu in a red and blue churidar dress. Both looking at one another a little unsure as they stand at the entrance of Duttas room. Dutta with his back turned to them looking into his open wardrobe hears a knock at the door. Turning towards the entrance of his room he sees baaji and madhu, their expressions a little anxious dutta nodds gently asking them to come into the room.
Madu and baaji looking at one and other for a moment step into the room, still a little wary of facing dutta they sense dutta walking around from the far side of the room to to take a seat on the sofa.
Taking a moment to think dutta playing with his ring on his wedding finger..silently takes a glance around the room.with an almost inaudible sigh he looks towards both of them, his eyes asking them to take a seat.
As both madhu and baaji sit on the opposite side to dutta, baaji just about to break the silence dutta stops him with a hand gesture.
Duttas eyes warm, carrying a very heavy yet affectionate glow his eyes float around for a second before he looks at both madhu and baaji and then looks into space as he speaks. His words a mix of a heartfelt confession and a scolding for the two of them.
"Tum dono ne joe kiya..use muje bohot takleef hue…dard hua, ghuza bhi aayay". Dutta looking towards baaji and then madhu his voice takes a firmer shape.. "Tum kaise bhool gayay ke mein dutta shri ram patil hone se phele tumara bhau hoon.?" Madhu seeing tears from in her brothers eyes tries to intervene "Bhaiya woh…" however dutta stops her raising his index finger in a firm warning. "Bas wada karo mujse tum..ke ayeynda koi bhi baat ho toe tum dono muje bejijak aakar baataoge."
Madhu and baaji nodding a yes agree, dutta who is in tears gets up from his seat..trying to almost control that emotion of his..he takes a deep sigh…looking towards madhu who has tears rolling down her face dutta eyes affectionate. His eyes on Madhu who wipes her tears away with the palm of her hand.
"Idar aa.." Madhu looks towards dutta for a moment walking towards dutta grabs him in a hug..dutta putting his arm around her comforts an emotional madhu. Looking towards baaji who is standing at a distance. His eyes cupped with tears trying to push them back. Dutta has to give baaji an individual prompt. "Aur tu bhi baaji!" Baaji shaking his head in a yes walks to the right hand side of dutta and hugs him. dutta putting his arms around both of them feels a relief.

Nakusha watches baaji and madhu leave the room noticing a peaceful content on there face she passes a silent smile as she walks towards the bedroom. Seeing dutta stood with his back to her arms by his side, his expression thrown up in the air, eyes closed. Nakusha silently walks up behind him, wraping her arms around his back nakusha places her face against his back.
…
Baaji haulting the car infront of the staircase to the mandir glances towards madhu who passes a smile his way. Getting out of the car they begin following dutta and nakusha who had already made there way towards the staircase of the mandir.
Dutta dressed in his black attire and nakusha wearing her pink saari from earlier on this morning..casually glance at one another smiling as they climb the stairs.
Various people greeting dutta along the way and dutta replicating the gestures. a lady carrying a baby in her arms stops dutta on his way."Bhau..namaste bhau.. Yey hamari beti bhau..use aayey kuch hein din hue hai ,aap use arshiwad de."
The lady lowers the baby in her arms to duttas feet, dutta stopping the lady at once takes the baby into his arms. Dutta and nakusha looking down at the angelics of the little being smile. Nakusha watches as an significant smile takes to duttas face. She had never seen him interact with children but he seemed to be in his element. His eyes shining playfully at the child dutta places a gentle kiss on the babies forehead before looking towards the parents. "Naam kya hai iska ..?" the farther of the child looking at his wife a for a moment puts his words very respectfully to dutta. "Bhau woah ham chahte the ka aap iska naam rakhe.."
Dutta looking at nakusha for a second who nodds in a smile, takes a look at the innocence in his arms, seeing the babies laughter duttas lips trace the name "Muskaan.."mere kyal se aapko iska naam Mukshaan rakhna chahiyey aapko lekin aap wohin naam rakhyiey jo aap ko pasand ho." Giving the baby back to her mother dutta and nakusha head up towards the mandir.
…
As Nakusha opens her eyes an breaks the fold at her hands she looks to dutta who stands at her side. Chale..? nodding a silent yes..nakusha walks along side him towards the staircase to leave the mandir, dutta takes nakushas hand within his as they walk down. Nakusha feeling duttas hand within his glances up to dutta for a second.. "Aap ne kya maanga bappa se saab? dutta smiling turns t to look at nakusha with a certain glow in his eyes. Joe maangna hai..woh shayad bapa se nahin tujhse hai naku. Nakusha slowlying down a little more as she listens turns to dutta, confused. "Mujse saab...?" dutta shaking his head in a yes continues to slowly walk prompting nakusha to continue to. "Hmm shayad bas ek akhri guzarish hai tumse naku.. Mein chahta hoon ke..jald hein ham apne beti ka naam chune..naku." Nakusha looking towards dutta in surprise lets out a gasp. "Saab?!"
Dutta shaking his head in a smile watches nakusha go a shade of red "..kyun..koi etraas hai tuje.." Nakusha getting all conscious over the matter..nods a no, very silently sounding her words .."nahin saab..lekin agar beta hua toe..?"
Dutta turns to Nakusha for a second his face little unpredictable and stern he watches Nakusha scatter her eyes a little nervously. "Toe kya..? uske baad beti hogi Nakusha.!"Naku looking up to see dutta smile, breaks into an embarrassed laughter. Dutta putting his arm around nakusha..smiles as he walks alongside her.

I know most of you are probably not expecting this but i didn't want you guys to read the last chapter dishearteningly so left this bit till the end. Thank you very much to all my readers for being with me through out this ff. I feel like I have reached a point this in this ff where I have explored my initial storyline and feel a close is now appropriate. Hope you have enjoyed reading It as much as I have writing it.
I intend to take a break from writing anything more for some time now. I have some academic/work responsibilities that I am committed to. However I will be around the forum and you can catch me on bb's threads as well by pm.
On a more positive note I do have a storyline for another ff floating around in my mind but I am unsure as to when the best time is to write it. As soon as I feel like I have enough time to do the idea justice I will post it. Until then thank you very much guys.. See you around.
