Nakku after taking bath moves towards her dressing table to get ready and finds a purple colored rose along with a note on the table , she opens and reads it
"Hairaan hogi yeh phool aur khath ko dekhkar lekin kya karoon aaj tujhse kuch kehna chahta tha. Janta hoon aaina aur us aaine mein ek dusre ko dekh kar bina kuch kahe humne kayi baar apne dil ki baat kahi hai. Mujhe aaj bhi woh raat yaad hai jab hum pehli baar mile the , kitni dari hui thi tu morey se aur phir tujhe bachane ke baad jab tu gadi mein mere saath aa rahi thi ,tab gadi ke sheeshe se maine teri aankhon mein kuch dekha , ek maasoomiyat , ek sachaiyee jo mujhe choo gayee bilkul is gulab ki tarah jo ussey diya jaata hai jo pehli nazar mein aap par apna asar chod jaata hai." Nakku looks at the mirror holding the purple rose and remembers their first eye lock in the car.his strong gaze sent chills down her spine and In that very moment she had given away her heart and soul to her savior, that's what a purple colored rose represents " love at first sight."
Nakku takes the breakfast tray to his cabin but finds him missing instead another rose this time a yellow one along with a note on his file, she opens it to read
"yeh peela gulab humari dosti ke naam jo kab hui pata hi nahin chala. Na jaane tujhmein aisa kya tha ki main apna ateet tujhse chupa nahin saka , kaise dutta se dutta bhau bana. Teri dosti ne mere andhar ke soye hue dutta ko ek baar phir jagaa diya , mujhe jeena sikhaya , ek baar phir pyar par vishwas karna sikhaya. Tere aane se pehle maine apne aas pass ek diwar si banayee hui thi lekin tune apni dosti se us diwar ko thod diya , tujhmein mujhe ek aisa dost mila jo mere bina kuch kahe mere dil ki baat jaan jaata tha. Is kamre mein aur tere aage kabhie dutta bhau nahin tha hamesha dutta tha."nakku thinks back how she became his friend his confidant in no time and how he would pour his heart out to her so effortlessly unaware of the fact that to her he was always more than a friend but she was happy to see him smiling again even if it meant to sacrifice her love for his friendship. They never shared a master servant relationship but a platonic relationship which she was more than willing to cherish.
In the evening nakkus goes to the pooja room to light a diya infront of bappa and finds a black rose along with a white rose tied together with a note near the thaali and wonders another message , what is he up to today
" jaanta hoon maine kabhi tere pyar ki kadar nahin ki , kabhie soch hi nahin ki tu mujhse itna pyar kar sakti hai. Jab supriya bhaag gayi tab sara ilzaam tujhpar dal diya , tujhe apni safaai dena ka mauka bhi nahin diya aur tujhe sazaa dene keliye tujhse shaadi kar li. Socha ki agar tu mujhe chahti hai toh mujhe pane ki ichcha bhi toh rakhti hogi nah ? nahin janta tha ki teri khushi mujhe khush dekhne main thi bhale hi woh supriya ke saath he kyon na ho. Is kale gulab ki tarah tujhse beintihaa nafrat ki , tujh par zulm kiye lekin tune meri nafrat ka jawab mohabbat se diya , mere har pathar ke badle tune mujhpar apne pyar aur vishwas ke phool bhikhare. Tu toh safedh gulab ki tarah humesha se hi masoom aur bedaag thi , mujhe hi yeh jaanane mein waqt lag gaya." Nakku lights the diya and with folded hands closes her eyes before bappa recalling the day he had married her out of rage just to punish and torture her. Her eyes fill up not on remembering his ill treatment towards her but the way he used to feel miserable after punishing her because deep down even he was aware that she could never betray him but his mind made him think otherwise. He was rude to her and did not acknowledge her presence with the thought that it would bring him pleasure but that wasn't the case , each and every harsh word broke his heart in to a million pieces because no matter how much he tried he could never see her in pain. Both of them felt helpless to see each other in pain and cursed themselves for being the reason behind it.
Nakkus prayer gets disturbed when a servant calls her from behind to hand over a parcel in her name. she opens it and is surprised to see a beautiful red saree with a pink rose and a note from him. A smile spreads on her face when she reads it
"tune joh mere liye mere parivar ke liya kiya uske aage shukriya shabd bahut chota padta hai , isliye shukriya keh ke tere kiye hue ka apmaan nahin karunga balki yeh phool deke apni khush kismati zaahir karoonga ki tu meri zindagi mein aayi , kadam kadam par mera saath diya , meri jaan bachayi mere parivaar ki jaan bachayi apni parvah kiye bina. Jab bhi mere kadam dagmagaye tune mujhe sabhala. Apne baba ki sachayi jaan kar main toh toot hi jaata lekin tune mujhe bhikarne nahin diya. Humesha mujhe diya badle mein kabhi kuch nahin manga isliye aaj main khud tujhe kuch dena chahta hoon. Is saree ki khubsurati aur bad jayegi agar tu ise pehenegi." Nakku happily runs her hand on the saree and rubs it on her cheek , closing her eyes she feels the same warmth she does when she is in his arms and silently thanks bappa for bringing him in her life.
She goes to her room and tries out the saree then picks up her jewellery box to take out the anklets he had gifted her before their marriage. She opens the box and as she had thought finds another rose this time a green one along with the note. She recalls how he had earlier chosen a necklace mistaking it as an anklet but later on had finally got her a beautiful pair of anklets. What touched her was the effort he had put in selecting something of his choice for her. Always been a reserved person who hardly displayed his love in public but during those days his eyes spoke volumes. It was so heart warming for her to see the same love in his eyes which she always craved for.
" Jungle main tere saath reh kar tere sache pyar ka ehsaas hua aur anna ke hathon tujhe kho kar yeh jaana ki mujhe tujhse kitna pyar hai. Sahi kehte hain log insaan jise sabse zyada pyar karta hai usey khone ka darr bhi sabse zyada hota hai. Us jungle mein humare beech ek naye rishte ne is hare gulaab ki tarah janam liya aur usi rishte ko izzat den eke liye maine tujhse tera haath manga. kaise bhool sakta hoon woh din jab bappa ke saamne tune shaadi ke liye haan kaha tha , aisa laga jaise saare zamaane ki khushiyaan mujhe mil gayi hon."
Nakku hears the telephone ringing and runs down quickly to attend it but the call gets disconnected , she remembers those terrible days when she would sit near the phone for hours expecting him to call her after he met with that fateful accident. How can she forget the first time he had called her although she never doubted that he was alive but after hearing his voice even the slightest of doubt vanished away completely. The happiness she felt after talking to him couldn't be expressed in words only a heart full of pain and love for him could understand. Nakku walks past the table where the phone is kept but stops midway on seeing an orange rose and a note tied to the telephone wire. She unties the note and the rose hurriedly to read it.
" shaadi ke baad tera asli chehra dekh kar bahut takleef hui thi , aisa laga ki kismet ne ek baar phir mere saath ek gandha mazaakh kiya , jise maine chaha usne phir mujhe dhokha de diya. Ek hi pal main mere saare sapne bhikhar gaye aur uske saath humara rishta bhi. Is gulab ke rang ko nakku agar dhyaan se dekhegi toh tujhe ismein aag ka rang dikhayee dega , wohi aag mere dil main jal rahi thi us waqt. Us aag mein apne pyar ko , teri yaadon ko jala dena chahta tha lekin jala nahin paaya. Bahut koshish ki tere khoobsurat chehre se nafrat karne ki, tujhse door rehne ki lekin kar nahi paaya. Kyun ? shayad isliye kyunki maine kabhi tere chehre se pyar hi nahin kiya tha toh nafrat kaise karta? Maine toh humesha teri masoomiyat, teri sachayi se pyar kiya aur woh us waqt bhi teri aankhon mein jhalakti thi. Accident ke baad jab tujhse alag ho gaya tab jaana ki tere bina dutta kuch bhi nahin hai . tu hai toh sabkuch hai, meri nazrein sirf tujhe dhoondhti rahin aur aaj bhi dhoodh rahi hain. Main tera wohin intezaar kar raha hoon jahan hum pehli baar mile the , jaldi se aaja."
Nakku reaches the beach where they had met for the first time and he had saved her from morey. She clearly remembers the night when she and her family were trying hard to escape from moreys clutches and just then he had stepped in like a ray of hope in her life. She slowly walks on the rocks and finds dutta lying on one of them playing his mouth organ with closed eyes. Not wanting to disturb him she takes out her anklets and sits a little behind him. All of a sudden dutta stops playing the mouth organ and says" tu aa gayi" leaving nakku pleasantly surprised " apko kaise pata chala ? aapki toh aankhein bandh thi aur maine toh payal ka shor bhi nahin kiya" and shows him those anklets. Dutta just smiles without replying and takes away the anklets from her when she tries to wear them indicating that its his right to make her wear them. After tying them he lays his head on her lap while she moves her hand in his hair lovingly and asks " kya soch rahe ho?"
" yehi ki aaj se kareeb ek saal pehle 27th January ko hum pehli baar yahan mile the , tab maine kabhi nahin socha tha ki yahan milee ladki meri zindagi ban jayegi aur meri zindagi mein pyar aur khushiyaan bhar degi." Saying so dutta takes out a red rose from his jacket and gives her. Nakku expecting another note will soon pop out but dutta dismisses it " zaroori nahin har baat keh kar batayee jaye aur tu toh humesha mere dil ki baat bina kahe he samajh jaati hai" and gazes at the moon in the sky while she is unable to take her eyes off her moon i.e. him, when he asks her " ab tu kya soch rahi hai?"
" ek gulab kitne rang badal kar itna laal aur gehra hota hai , bilkul humare rishte ki tarah. Is ek saal mein humare rishte ne bhi kayi rang badle , hum ajnabi se dost bane , dost se pati patni bane aur phir jakar premi bane. Yeh safar aasan nahin tha in lehron ki tarah , kabhi shant aur kabhi toofan utha phirbhi yeh rishta nahin toota . kyun?"
Dutta smiles and takes her hand in his "kyunki bhale hi humare rishte ne rang badle hon lekin humne kabhi ek dusre ko badalna nahin chaha. Hum jaise the ek dusre ko waise hi apnaya , tune mujhe meri khamiyon ke saath aur maine tujhe tere roop rang ke saath. Yeh baat alag hai humare pyar ne humein badla aur humare rishte ko aur mazboot banaya. Chahe jo bhi pareshani aayee ho humne kabhi ek dusre ka saath nahin choda, ek dusre ki kamzori ki jagah ek dusre ki taaqat ban kar rahe aur yahi humare rishte ki khoobsurati hai" nakku couldn't agree with him more.
Just then along with the cool breeze it starts to drizzle , dutta sits up immediately and starts taking out his jacket to cover her but nakku stops him " nahin aaj nahin, aaj bheegne do is pyar ki bearish mein."dutta cups her face in his hands and says " pata nahin phir kabhi keh paunga yah nahin par aaj kuch kehna chahta hoon."nakku gives him a question lookand dutta says softly " LAAGI TUJHSE LAGAN".tears of joy fill in her eyes and Dutta wraps his arm around her and brings her closer to his heart which is echoing the same thing he just said with the following song playing in the back ground
